I had been disappointed in Casimir because the new owner seemed to cut corners to try to save pennies. I don't care for what was done with the window booths. It was lovely to sit at a window booth and look out of the window and now they have a table in the middle of two medium size tables with your back towards the restaurant and the one in the middle with the back towards the window. How does that work?? I will say that the quality of the food is still better than most French restaurants in this area . They do have some very loyal people working for them and the service is pretty good.. They should add more interesting things to the menu. I would love to see a chocolate soufflé or an amaretto soufflé for dessert and I would love to see more interesting appetizers, like possibly baked clams with breadcrumbs? Recently we were strolling around downtown Boca and we decided to check out this French Bistro. The menu was small but with very good choices of many types of proteins and vegetables. Had dinner here a little over a week ago again - sat outside. Restaurant a little different - seems like there was either a management or ownership change. Atlantic salmon with gratin dauphinois still delicious. No longer comes with green beans - now with ratatouille - not my thing. Lovely, authentic French Bistro Boca staple is not quite what it used to be. Service is still excellent & the menu reasonably priced by today's standards, but the food is lacking. I've been to Casimir French Bistro several times. The French onion soup here is among the best I've enjoyed. The moules marinières (mussels with French fries) here are excellent. I love the white wine broth and the French fries are nice and crunchy. I've also had the beef Bourguignon: delicious and very rich. A classic that has been there for a while. Inattentive hosts, but service was acceptable. I think it is a layman's version of what they think a French restaurant and food should be. The food and the service reflect that. Heavy sauces and old style 1950s American "French" Cooking. Certainly nothing even close to the wonderful freshness of French cooking and even the delicacy of french sauces. I don't think even Julia Child would approve. I am writing to share my significant disappointment regarding my recent dining experience at Casimir on December 25th 2025 at 3pm.I had high expectations for my visit, which unfortunately we're not met. We almost didn't get our preferred seating arrangement. We made reservations in advance. The roasted duck was extremely dry and overcooked. When choosing Casimir, I expected the high standard of French bistro dining that your reputation suggests. This is my first time trying Casimir and overall I thought the restaurant was very good. Service is fine, the restaurant was simple and pleasant and we had a fair priced bottle of wine to go with dinner. The Onion Soup had a good balance of flavors and was excellent. The Short Rib Rigatoni was also excellent with perfectly cooked pasta and tender short rib in a light sauce and I would go back for this. I also tried the Cajan Chicken and thought it was pretty good. Chocolate Cake was a little dense but had a nice rich flavor that was not too sweet. read more

We loved our lunch and our dining experience here today. Everyone was so pleasant -- warm and welcoming -- and the food was excellent. We sat on the outside patio, nicely socially distanced from the other people dining there. They have ceiling fans so it was comfortable, considering how hot it's been here lately. We started with some house brewed ice tea and some french bread. The bread is that nice crusty baguette type -- perfect with butter. We had a taste and then saved most of it to have with our meals. I decided to try their fois gras terrine. I'm a big fan of pate and this one was perfectly rich and creamy. It came with several thin toasts, a small bunch of grapes, and a small ramekin of compote. The compote was made of chopped apples and grapes. It was a lovely sweet counterpoint to the richness of the liver. My husband had their Norwegian salad. It was as pretty and colorful to look at as to eat. Their gravlax (smoked salmon) is made in house. Slices of salmon along with a salad of arugula topped with thinly sliced red onions and pieces of avocado, plus cream cheese, capers, thinly sliced cucumbers, halved cherry tomatoes, and hard boiled egg wedges on the plate. There were thin baguette slices, too. We got a chance to share and taste of bit of each other's meal. It's so nice to be well satisfied with one's food choices, but not to feel over stuffed. Did I say each plate's presentation was artfully arranged? We had a nice conversation with the restaurants manager, Elena, as well. She stopped by our table to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We learned about the restaurant name's origin (a cartoon character) and the couple who own the restaurant. She told us about their specials and promotions, too. We didn't have room for dessert, but we had to look at the list of the day's offerings. The flourless chocolate cake or maybe the creme brûlée? We (party of 7) went there because it was recommended by one of the couples we went with. Unfortunately, the consensus was, only the Duck & the Sorbet were very good. Onion Soup was waaaay too salty, my Cajun Chicken Breast was dry, but not bothersome enough to send back. Same deal with the Short Ribs. What a charming French restaurant in Boca. We stopped by for lunch and were happy we did. Our waiter, Pierre, was friendly and efficient. Drinks amd bread came quickly. I ordered the nicoisr salad with seared tuna at Pierre's recommendation. It was a large portion of lettuce, hard boiled eggs, olives, tomatoes, and greens beans. There was a generous seving of yumm tuna and a tasty French vinagrette. My friend had the soup and sandwich which she said was really good. She had the French onion soup with ham sandwich. Having lived in the area and frequented Royal Palm Plaza a bit, I am sorry I did not try this sooner! Very homey, bright bistro with excellent service. The menu is small, with a couple of specials and while I cannot comment on many dishes since all 4 of us had the duck, I can offer this: --warm bread-delicious --escargot--delicious and required another serving of that warm bread --endive and blue cheese salad, the small was just right size and my fellow diners enjoyed it --carrot ginger soup (special) so delicious and so homemade! Nothing like fresh produce --duck ala orange--two leg/thighs, super crispy over roasted potatoes and delicious sticky orange sauce. Yummy!! --creme brûlée--perfect They do the classics here, will most definitely return and would come more often if it wasn't in RPP which has the parking lot from hell. Use the valet $7. My son came in for lunch the previous day and raved about it so we came in the next day. I got am thre farm omelette and although it doesn't sound like much it was so fresh and delicious it's worth talking about. The veggies in it were tasty and the dressing for the salad was great. My son got the French onion soup this time around with half Gravlax sandwich and he loved it. I'm getting the soup next time for sure! Considering the place wasn't packed I would say our server missed the mark. He was friendly but aloof and hard to find. Took a long time to place order and even longer to get our check. There was nothing incredibly creative or special here. Nonetheless, they put out very well executed version of the Classics. We had a larger group, including a tricky-eating and hungry kid in our party (I'm talkin' carbs ga-lore). But they handled it without a fuss. She loved the bread here (and so did we). Not actually. Service was spotty at best. The food was pretty good. My escargot was delicious, but came without even a small piece of bread. The potato leek soup was very good, but could've been a little hotter. Both sandwiches were enjoyable, and our wine was quite nice. If my wife didn't have to flag down her friend to fill our waters...if someone checked on us before handing us the check...I would've went four stars. All in all, it's a nice little place with al fresco dining and good food and wine. Give it a shot, but be prepared to be patient and don't expect great service. Surprised the wifey with an impromptu romantic dinner last night and decided to try out CFB after checking it out on my old trusty YELP! I called ahead and spoke to a very friendly young man Pino on the phone and being midweek we did not need reservations. On arrival we were greeted and seated by Pinot and immediately and our server Travis attended to us with drinks and the menus and their specials.... A nice start. The inside is quaint appearing very much like a Parisienne Cafe of old which brought back fond memories of our Paris vacation. There was outdoor seating too. We decided on the pre-fixed menu which consisted of an appetizer and main course and dessert. The wifey had the Escargot and I had the French Onion Soup and they were both very good especially when accompanied with the complimentary French baguette and butter. For our main course the wifey had the the Beef Rigatoni and I went with the Mussels Moulinaire and we both enjoyed our meals. For dessert we had the Flourless Chocolate cake and the Peach Melba that was "Divine" All in all we had an excellent experience and yes we will be definitely be back and I would recommend that my fellow YELPERS give this place a try for a special event! read more

We had amazing service from start to finish! Calf livers and the Cajun chicken were the meals we ordered tonight and both were spectacular and cooked perfectly! This is a cozy spot where we have had a couple of meals sitting on their veranda outside. They do offer inside seating but the weather was mild and we chose tables outside so far. I've enjoyed their Salmon salad and their soup and sandwich combos and keep coming back to try their various dishes. Their salmon (in house cured Gravlox) is so fresh and packed full of flavor and pairs with the crusty french bread and cream cheese provided. A nice citrus vinaigrette dressing drizzled on the mixed greens is wonderful. There are several dining spots right next to this one so parking may be a bit of a challenge, but well worth the adventure. Service is great and the servers are quick and will answer any questions with a working knowledge of each menu item. They also have a large selection of wines by the glass or by the bottle.
