We made lunch reservations last week. There was a large lot with valet parking, on the north side of Glades Road, in Boca. The $34 three course lunch special is appealing with a soup or salad, chicken, salmon or sliced fillet with a sorbet, cheesecake or key lime pie for dessert. In 1927, Gallaghers first opened on 52nd Street, by former Ziegfeld girl Helen Gallagher the wife of Ed Gallagher of the vaudeville comedy team Gallagher & Shean. It was a speakeasy during prohibition & the place to find gamblers, sports figures, and Broadway stars. Now Gallaghers is in Boca, Vegas & NYC. Eight of us enjoyed our garden table & all of the options on the lunch menu. Renato took very good care of us and did a fabulous job of understanding and dividing the bill. We had a 7 PM reservation. It was a Saturday night when we arrived. The young lady said it would be a 15 minute delay and then it ended up being over 35 minutes before we were seated. I understand they're really crowded surprisingly this time of the year, but OK but still the reservation was for seven and I shouldn't have to stand there and wait for 35 minutes did mention it to the manager we sat down it took us about 10 minutes before anybody even came over to us OK it is a busy night trying to enjoy myself here they sent us over a complementary appetizer. That was nice. We also had a salad a wedge I must say totally disappointed lettuce with blue cheese dressing, but no crumbled blue cheese I had to ask for that after all this is a wedge salad next we had oysters and they were very small not happy about that but OK and they were just OK. We then had a rib steak which was good and halibut which was also good. I ordered a baked potato. It came out twice with brown spots inside and overcooked after the second time I said, forget about it unfortunately, this was not the way I really wanted to enjoy my meal on a Saturday night, especially an expensive meal, !!and especially it was a special occasion extremely loud restaurant very difficult to hear each other talk not sure when I'll be returning. Just an afterthought, I was in New York at Gallagher's. Everything went very smoothly. My reservation was met exactly at 7 PM as I arrived and everything came out like it was supposed to even that it was crowded. They made sure that every customer felt important. I sent this in a private message and did not get a response so now I'm sharing it here. I had such a great experience at my first few visits to Gallagher's that I decided to celebrate my birthday there on 1/2/26 with my husband, son & his gf. I spoke so highly of the restaurant my son wanted to try it. He is a huge foodie. I am sorry to say we were extremely disappointed. First and foremost my medium rib steak was soggy and undercooked. That means no char and bloody. It was also cold. In fact everything was cold. Second, the service was terrible. We saw the main waiter once. We had to wait forever for anyone to take our order, then it took forever for the food to come. A manager walked over to ask how everything was and I told him about the cold food and he walked away before I could say more. The waiter came back to ask if he could heat anything up. No words for that... Lastly, it was noted in the reservation that it was a birthday celebration. Crickets... nothing said or done. . I also want you to know that I mentioned this to a neighbor and he said he had poor service and cold food as well. Consistency is important in choosing a restaurant. Especially when there's a steak house on every corner in Boca. Do better. read more

This was one of the best meals we've had in Florida. Everything was just delicious - from the porterhouse steak, grilled chicken to the sides. The asparagus was tender, the onion rings weren't greasy. We liked everything. Our servers were amazing, Sebastian and Anthony. Clearly, they were well-trained. They knew the menu well and stepped around us, never serving food across anyone. The decor is typical, elegant steakhouse. The cocktails were ordered were well-balanced too. On a Thursday night, off-season, the place was packed. For a party of 5 with a reservation, we were offered a table by the entrance, next to the bar! Our request for a table further in the restaurant was granted. On the way to the toilets you can peak into the busy kitchen. It looked clean. Wonderful service. Staff was helpful in ordering suggestions and made our dinner very pleasant. Our appetizer of thick cut bacon was delicious and more than enough for the four of us to share! Porterhouse steak for three was plentiful for four and our sides of hash browns and broccoli completed an outstanding entree. Dessert of banana cream pie was just wonderful! Stopped in today to once again have their three course lunch special for $34. This includes appetizer, lunch and dessert. Previously, I have had the steak entrée and it has been excellent. Today I had the salmon for the entrée, the Manhattan clam chowder for the appetizer and the sorbet for the dessert. All was very good, except the salmon was dry. Would stick with the steak next time. Service was good, friendly, and customer service oriented. I would avoid the salmon in the future and stick with any of the other entrées if you get the three course lunch special. Had a 7:15 reservation and was seated within 10 minutes , we sat outside and it was lovely weather . I always order what a restaurant is know for so of course had a steak (bone in my fav )which was perfectly cooked to medium rare as requested and tender and didn't do any potatoes , trying to be carb conscious and wanted a slice of bread so I ordered the green salad which had pear ,dried cherries , pecans and goat cheese , which was very good and the sautéed spinach. Had not tried the dessert last time and it was homemade so I tried the raspberry sorbet which was delectable. Our sever made sure our water was always filled and we were never without a drink . Our food was plated for us and our left overs boxed , we had two servers and twice were checked on by a manager . If you love steak cooked to perfection you should definitely go . What a phenomenal steakhouse. The porterhouse was the star of the show, as it should be at a steakhouse! Expertly cooked and seasoned. Melt in your mouth. No sauce needed, though their made in house steak sauce was delicious. The green beans were also fabulous! Cooked perfectly so they still had some crunch without being undercooked. I wasn't a huge fan of the hashbrowns, it was something that I wasn't drawn back to have more of. They had a seafood salad special that was truly special. Lightly dressed, fresh, and lemony. The scallops were so soft and bouncy. It was truly amazing. The waitstaff was also phenomenal! Our team was so attentive and friendly. I'm pro any place that boxes up your food for you and crumbs the table between courses! The wait was a bit, but we went prime time on a Saturday night with no reservation and we were seated within an hour. I truly have no complaints. The service at Gallaghers Steakhouse Boca Raton is unmatched. They take the small as a big deal. Waters were always full, unattended napkins folded, and the food came out timely and exactly as ordered. The quality of the food is superb. The chef knows his stuff. The stuffed jumbo shrimp was my favorite, but everything came out beautifully presented and very tasty. Highlight of the entire meal was the baked Alaskan flambé super cool to order. On a Saturday night this place is packed so make sure to make ur reservations. Eating here feels like you're in an old timey steakhouse as an elite member of society. Night was overall great. The only reason for 4 stars is they were out of a couple items from the menu and it would have been nice to know about this before ordering. Gallagher's Steakhouse is quickly becoming my favorite steakhouse in Boca Raton. The steaks are perfection--cooked exactly right and full of flavor. I had the filet with bone marrow and also tried the steak au poivre, both of which were incredible. My daughter's lamb was beautifully seasoned and cooked just right. The French onion soup deserves its own spotlight--rich, deeply simmered onions and one of the best I've ever had. The staff is warm, attentive, and charming, which makes the whole experience even better. Dessert is a must--don't miss the banana cream pie cake! We were also surprised with a celebratory brownie dessert complete with a candle, which was such a thoughtful touch. We ordered salmon and filet along with a side of mushrooms and brussel sprouts. I had my steak medium rare and it was cooked perfect! They have a good wine selection. For dessert, they graciously gave us a chocolate cake and biscotti and we also ordered the banana cream pie. The banana cream pie was ok. I would try something else next time. We've been here twice. The first time around, my wife and I were seated in a corner outside, so requested a table in the main dining room this time around. They listened. Last time around, we over did the sides, but our appreciation for Gallagher's in NYC brought us back. Service was good, but the recommendations weren't as good as they were described. Our charred broccoli tasted like a cigarettes. The steaks were solid, as were the cocktails (get a fridge martini). That said, our experience was mediocre at best. $350 later, which is nuts for dinner in Boca Raton, we left annoyed. FIne, I suppose, if you're looking for a steakhouse in Florida. Gallagher's is a steakhouse located in Boca Raton. It is right off of Glades Road between I-95 and the turnpike. They have convenient free parking, but it gets pretty full so they also have complementary valet available. I was entertaining a large group of people and we were able to secure a private room with reservations made early. The restaurant was full so I highly recommend reservations. Our dining room was beautifully set up and ready for us. They had nice holiday music playing on the overhead speakers and small touches of holiday decorations in the room as well. Our waiters introduce themselves to me before my guests arrived. Their names were Anthony and Nick. They asked questions about the set-up and what to expected for the dinner which I appreciated. They wanted to make sure they reached all expectations and they did. They have a very nice wine selection and their speciality drinks were on point. They first start with bread for the table. It was a nice mix of bread including a very yummy banana bread that I loved. For appetizers we ordered tuna tartar, a wedge salad - chopped, lump crab (my guests loved the crab) and french onion soup. For dinner the twin lobster tail was a hit! They offered very generous portions and the tails were prepared just on top of the shell so no struggles to eat it. Several guests ordered steak and all said the steak was perfect. For the side, I ordered a baked potato for myself but most of the sides are prepared shared for the table. We ordered the mushrooms, sweet potato, mashed potato, brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. We were able to try a little of each and they were all quite tasty. For dessert, we had chocolate cake and creme brulee and they were also good. Overall, Gallagher's is a wonderful restaurant with a great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious options. read more

I didn't have the best experience here but I am guessing it was a fluke because it looked very packed and the food was decent-to-delicious. My friend and I went for lunch and it was incredibly leisurely...almost like people forgot about us at the table. We were not their typical clientele, most of whom were business folk or the retired type. They have a lunch special which was nice, a three-course option for a fixed price. It's not like we were in a rush, but it took over 2 hours for 2 people who didn't make modifications or special requests. I would have ordered another glass of wine if our waiter was around. It was great portions and we did leave with our dessert. Parking is in a free parking lot and the bathrooms were clean. I will try there again, but I will remember it will take awhile. read more

Gallaghers was the only place in Boca that had this spectacular menu offering albeit while supplies last. Just can't believe they took it off the menu. This was an edge versus the across the street competitor and the around the corner competitor. Please bring the prime rib back. Enjoyed it for years in NYC and the. Here in Boca! A memorable event. We celebrated my mother's 82nd birthday at Gallagher's. We set reservations for 3 at 5:15. By 7, they were rightfully packed. Set reservations far in advance if you are planning for 7pm. I went with a 10 oz filet mignon, a baked potato, and Stella on draft. The filet mignon had the most flavorful crust and was tender and juicy. Our host sliced up the baked potato and buttered it up nicely. I love the ambience with the wooden beams. Had dinner in a Saturday nights with my in-laws and the place was buzzing. Reservations are a must and seating area to consider when dining and planning on having a conversation. The large dining area is not the place best to stick with the open patio area which seemed much quieter (hence the 4 stars). The food was great and steaks were cooked perfectly. Our servers were on their toes keeping up with everything without feeling rushed and kept fresh waters going throughout. Very expensive but worth it, except for how loud the place was. read more

They claim the do not take reservations for the bar and first come first serve but when you get there at noon and no one is even in any of the seats they tell you you cannot sit in the open seats because they save seats for customers. Then they stick you by the service bar. complete lairs and if you talk to the manager he will tell you no reservations but sorry we have preferred customer's we take care of and save seats for them. read more

Chris the bartender who runs the bar is the most RUDE person ever. He holds seats for the BIG spenders and does not allow those who are actually there to sit and order food or drinks. He saves the bar seats for the regulars who spend a lot and tip well. My friends and I have been many times and witnessed this. The seats sit empty for 2 hours at times while we could have sat and ordered food. Guess the restaurant doesn't care about turnover. We complain to the manager who doesn't care. Chris treats the women customers terribly. NO MORE. Too many other great steak places in Boca not to waste time and money to be treated like crap. Management needs to fire him once and for all. You are loosing many customers all because of Chris. read more

So I don't start this review completely negative. I'm going to talk about the service and ambience first. The service: top-notch waiters, the manager very attentive. The outdoor seating area is gorgeous. Indoor seating little bit loud, classic steakhouse style. Onto the food, this does not start out well --the bread was stale, however the homemade maple bread with nuts in it was good. The appetizer: the wedge salad was overdressed, the lettuce was sad. Positive: The French Onion Soup was delicious lots of onions, the cheese topping was excellent not too much soup base. The main entrées: the lamb chops were delicious, cooked, medium rare and seasoned nicely. Wasn't crazy about the home-fries though, I will give Gallagher's another try and I hope to better my three star rating. read more

I've been to Gallagher's a few times now, both for lunch and dinner. All of my experiences have been very good, favoring the steak sandwich available at lunch most of all. On this visit, a colleague and I went for dinner - I had the shrimp scampi which was excellent, and my colleague had the 8 oz filet. As with many steakhouses nowadays, the sides are all a la carte, so a side plate of sauteed onions and a plate of mashed potatoes went for $14 each. My colleague and I split a piece of banana cream pie for dessert, which was decadent, tasty, and more than enough for two people. We are not alcohol drinkers, so our bill averaged about $100 per person, obviously drinks can push the bill higher. Service from Sebastian was excellent, and other team members came to check on us throughout the meal as well. At lunchtime, the menu is priced much more in line with other local lunch options, and the patio provides a comfortable and casual environment. I stay at the hotel right next door, the Sonesta when traveling for business. Having this restaurant within just a few feet of the front door makes it a wonderful choice when traveling on business. I wanted to go for a cocktail with my husband, and there was a reserved spot at the packed bar. When a couple next to us left, two additional seats opened up. However, when we tried to sit down, the bartender informed us that those seats were reserved, even though the seats unoccupied. So, I was thrilled when Gallaghers Steak House Boca Raton opened its doors. The décor and atmosphere of Gallaghers Steak House Boca Raton is that of a distinguished gentlemen's club. Pictures are on all the walls, white tablecloths, spotless glasses, and flatware. I wasn't surprised that the food and top-notch service were the same, if not better, than in New York. Fir my appetizer, I eagerly went for the gazpacho soup. Though I prefer a chunkier gazpacho this one was totally satisfying and delicious. My partner went for the French onion, an in-house three-cheese creation, that he said was one of the best he had ever had. Fir my entree I had their 10-ounce filet mignon sided creamed spinach and roasted potatoes, sautéed mushrooms & onions, red wine sauce. It was perfectly done rare, as ordered and I found it to be of an excellent cut as well as tasty. We came last night for my Dad's birthday. There were 13 of us. They set up a great table for us and from the get we felt welcomed and excited. The food was very good. Solid steakhouse favorites that captures the quality of the NY restaurant, which is a favorite. But what really made this experience special was the service.
