Unfortunately, on my most recent visit to Le Val de Loire, the French family were no longer owners, which was already disappointing. In addition, the reservation I made for 6pm wasn't necessary as the restaurant was void of diners and mostly stayed that way. The waiter/host was very cordial. The interior of the restaurant remains the same, which is a positive. Our waiter remained attentive and available when needed. As for our meal, it wasn't completely up to par. Two fillet mignons were more rare than ordered; the mashed potatoes had a strange taste, which could have been the seasonings; the pastries were dry and the Tiramisu wasn't Tiramisu. Another disappointment was no employee spoke French, however, the interior remains lovely. read more

The restaurant has a little charm. I checked the place out thinking it was a bakery, but it was actually part of a French restaurant with Spanish-speaking workers lol. The ambiance was nice. The low lighting, music, and nice decor took me to another place. The restaurant also has an outdoor sitting area. It is a nice place to visit. It is the kinda place you want to have lunch with friends. I stopped in to check out the pastries on display. I like croissants. The pastries all looked good. They are all a good size and price. You get your money's worth. They have a menu listed on top. I ended up getting two pastries. They both tasted great. I wish I had gotten the coffee. It is something I want to come back and try. I have tried to visit or order from Val de Loire numerous times over the winter season of 2025. Sadly, they are often closed despite their stated hours on their website. My wife, friends, and I have enjoyed our meals there over many years. I finally got through to the restaurant and asked if I could order their cold Vischicoisse soup. I was told that this soup was no longer on their menu and that their menu is being changed. None of these menu changes are listed on Val de Loire's website. The universe knows. We went up to Deerfield Beach to eat at neighbor The Modern Rose. One issue though - they were slammed and food was an hour+ wait. I had had this restaurant bookmarked for ages, having often remarked how often I wished to go, but let's be honest: I'm a creature of habit and only drive this far up for The Modern Rose. Well, no longer as Le Val de Loire is another winner in the same plaza. We went in and immediately were greeted by a spacious interior, plenty of air conditioning (very important on a hot Florida day), and a beautiful display case full of baked goods. Consider me sold. We chose to eat on-site and were led to a table. We started off with sparkling water. He ordered a complete crepe, which had lots of cheese and ham inside. I chose the quiche Lorraine which came with a small salad. We later had desserts. He chose a pain au chocolat, while I had an apple tart. The apple tart was so fresh that I took one to go as well. Accompanied this with Coke and a cappuccino, et voilà, that was our lunch. Honestly I really enjoyed this place. I languidly ate and felt very much as if I were eating back in France, where they don't rush you when you're having a meal. I would love to come back for dinner. Only one staff member running around. "Are you ready" is not how I was expecting to be asked about ordering nor did we hear specials. Waited forever to be acknowledged. This darling place may have better staff at different times. This morning was a let down. The quiche Lorraine was good. I have had better at Publix. Found this French Restaurant by researching Yelp recommendation & we were pleasantly surprised. It has a old school vibe like your in France the way it is decorated. They actually even sell croissants & cake when you first walk in which were absolutely delicious. They start you off with complimentary rolls which were a little to hard but they serve with croutons with fresh garlic with oil. Wine & Cocktails were ok. The service is a 5 plus everyone is amazing. They have options for complete dinner which includes salad or appetizers & dessert. We started off with a house salad & the veggie soup which is blended & flavorful. The salad was a nice portion as well. The food is server on fancy plates. We both order chicken & enjoyed them. Our desserts were out of this world delicious. Just had an impromptu lunch at this really lovely French Restaurant. We were very hungry. Started with the Quiche Lorraine & hubby had the pate'. Both were very good- I understand the pate' was fresh & homemade. We were very impressed. We also enjoyed a very good Bordeaux that paired well with the skirt steaks we ordered. Sorry- no pics- steaks were cooked perfectly & served with mashed potatoes, vegetables & mushroom red wine sauce. I brought half of mine home. We felt very relaxed & ended our lunch with cappuccinos. The service was excellent- everyone was happy & treated us as if we are family- we saw there were French pastries & other desserts- we must come back to try more! Definitely soon!!! We came here for one reason. The French Onion Soup. It's good, but I've had better. We will return because I want to try one of the crepes. Our vegan daughter got the Vegetable Soup to take home. Max got the Ham, Tomato, and Cheese Sandwich. I had ordered a French Martini and thought it didn't taste right. Well, there was a reason for this. She made me a French 75. Two totally different drinks. She wasn't happy making me the correct drink, but it is understandable. I don't know why they aren't busy. We were the only ones having lunch. Decided to stop in after going to the sticky bun since it was in the same plaza. My wife really wanted to try the French Onion soup. My daughter got a take home cup of the soup de jour which was vegetable after confirming that it was vegan. I had a beer and the TBC sandwich. All the pastries looked delicious and my wife told me she wants to come back to have their sweet crepes. I wonder why they don't get more customers? This place should not be in business. The food here isn't French. The pink sauce on the chicken francese was sour. The chicken was dry, burnt and accompanied with equally inedible sides - cilantro rice and vinegary ratatouille. The scallop and shrimp crepe - seafood crepe - had the same inedible pink sauce and the consistency was rubbery and tasteless. The napoleon dessert was wet and soggy and not fresh. The apple tart was hard and had maple syrup on top. We ordered two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc and it was sweet and flat - we find out that it was a Riesling. The other wine options were sour. The place smells, floors are dirty and water pooling on the bathroom floor. Boxes and trash are visible. Hot mess. read more

This place is a hidden gem. It's a French restaurant with such a cool vibe .You walk into Le Val de Loire, and it feels like you stepped of N.M.B into one of Paris arrondissements , dark and cozy. Quite disappointed with the service we got from the waitress. She seems to be working by herself, however the place wasn't even full when we came (4 customers on 2 tables). She didn't even checked on how we liked the food, hence did not offered any drink refills. The crepe was pricey for the quality too (I saw on other comments how the owner tried to justify the cost of having a restaurant, but again, other places can serve it better for a little lesser price and better customer service). The waitress made a mistake dividing our bill and worse part was when she added a 20% tip on one of my colleagues' check who covered for the difference and also left a tip when she paid for her share of the food. My colleague used to work in the same industy too so she knew who deserves to get an extra tip and how foul it is to add a tip without the customer's knowledge! read more

We were so looking forward to having a nice Valentines Night Dinner but unfortunately our first time here was not a pleasant one at all. The place was packed to the gills and we waited 30 mins in the doorway to be seated! We were then seated and served the complimentary bread and butter which was delicious. For the appetizer the wifey got the Escargot and I got the French Onion Soup that was tasty but luke warm. For our main course the wifey had the Rack of Lamb Provancale which was average and I ordered the Filet Mignon au Poivre which came with mashed potatoes and Mushrooms. My steak was done to perfection and the Au Poivre Sauce was tasty my only "beef" about it was that it was not the usual filet mignon cut that I am used to getting (photo enclosed) After we finished dinner a lot of the other folks had left, but no one came to clear our plates for over 1/2 an hour even though they attended to everyone around us!! I then called Leonardo even though he was not our server who took away our dishes and brought us the dessert menu. We ordered our desserts immediately after which we waited another 30 mins only to be told that our order went to another table. We politely requested our cheque which Leonardo was kind enough to adjust and we left after paying. Now I understand they were busy initially but to be ignored for that long by the French speaking server who hovered around every table around us was unacceptable even as the place cleared up! We found this restaurant when we were walking around the plaza and decided to give it a try as there are not a lot of French restaurants. Very happy that this place was so legitimate. First off, their menu has so many options and the prices were very reasonable for the amount and quantity of food they serve. My wife had the onion soup and I had the escargot to start. Both were so flavorful and delicious. The soup had a great layer of cheese on top and the escargot couldn't have been made anymore perfectly. Garlicky, and tender snails. So good. I had the seafood crepe and my wife had the Beef Bourguignon. The crepe was loaded with shrimp and scallops in an amazing lobster cream sauce. The Beef Bourguignon was tender and had an excellent wine and beef reduction. The reason I did not give 5 stars, was unfortunately the service. Everyone working was very nice, but confused. We had several different servers who obviously did not communicate with each other. We ordered drinks from two different services and did not get them till a third asked if we would like a drink. Same thing with the food one person took our order, yet another came and asked what we would like to order. The desserts looked great and were very good, however 15 minutes later and asking twice if we could get our dessert it finally came out. Same issue with the coffee. First the cup, then we asked for cream and sugar, then the sugar. Finally after asking again we got the cream. Definitely worth going to for very good French food, but you will have to be patient with the staff. They mean well and are nice, but it didn't appear they had sections and were all running around. read more

We haven't been to this storefront French restaurant in years. Located in the Cove shopping center which is a zoo on weekends, impossible to find a parking space. There have been here for 31 years and added a French bakery next door. A real testament to survive 31 years. They have complete dinners that includes Soup du Jour or House Salad, dessert, and regular hot tea or coffee. You can add an appetizer for an additional charge. I started with one of my favorites, Escargots de Bourgogne, snails in garlic butter, very good. My wife ordered the French Onion Soup , sautéed onions, homemade broth, croutons, and topped with Swiss cheese, also very good. For mains, tough choice between duck and frog's legs. I chose the Frog Legs Provençale ,sautéed with garlic, parsley, rice, and a vegetable medley because you don't see them very often. Very good with great flavors. My wife tried the Seafood Crepe which included ,shrimp, scallops, lobster sauce, and Swiss cheese, also very good. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake and Napoleon, both very good, made on premise and Cappuccino. Very god and attentive service. I've rounded up from my first instinct of 3 stars for a couple reasons -- one the service was very good. Not only in the warm welcome on entering, but throughout the meal. We felt like we were in Paris in a charmingly French bistro. Two, we were having dinner with friends. And we were allowed to dine leisurely and enjoy the conversation and company without being rushed. And yet the dishes were paced appropriately. The menu has most of your favorite French offerings. You can choose a la carte or for about $5 more, you can have a complete dinner including soup or salad, entree, dessert, and coffee. You can also choose to add additional items for a small up charge. We all decided to do the complete dinners. Two of us chose the house salad which had a homemade vinaigrette with it. One had (for a few dollars more), a pork pate appetizer instead. The only misstep was the soup du jour -- a rich very tomatoey based vegetarian soup. I tasted it and didn't really care for it. The gentlemen both got calves liver with mashed potatoes and vegetables du jour. there were sautéed onions on top of the liver with a light brown gravy. I had the filet of sole meunière that came with white rice and veggies du jour. The fish was very light. And our other friend had a lobster special of the evening -- lobster linguini in a basil cream sauce. The presentation was lovely. For dessert, we had apple tarts, passion fruit sorbet, and creme caramel along with our hot coffee and tea. My husband absolutely loved his passion fruit sorbet. read more

Stopped in here for lunch after our original pick was too busy and very glad it was! The owner turned out to have hosted our AirBnb last trip to the area and that was a very nice surprise! The staff was first rate, and attended to our 3yo niece (and us as well) with exceptional care and attention. Had the onion soup and chicken and mushroom crepe - OMG! C'est magnifique!!! I stopped here with a friend by chance as we were looking for someplace close by for a coffee and dessert. We had just enjoyed a good lunch at a nearby outdoor restaurant and wanted to extend our visit at another place w outdoor seating. This French restaurant was located in the same shopping center and had a number of outdoor tables including a little tent. We went inside to see the dessert case filled with amazing French pastry. They served Lattes, Cappuccinos and a menu of great coffee. They also had a full dinner menu and the indoor ambiance was very pretty. After choosing our pastry we were directed to our table outdoors and were given very good service. Our coffees and pastries arrived and all were delicious. As this is a full service restaurant, i cant speak for the food, but if it s anything like the pastry, you will not be disappointed. read more

We have been coming here since moving to the area 7 years ago. Amazing food, service and ambiance. That said we were just here for dinner this weekend. The service was a little slow, but both rooms were packed and they were obviously understaffed. Besides, anyone who goes to a French restaurant knows that you aren't rushed at meal time! None of the staff ever complained, they just keep their heads up, kept service up and kept going. We had a party of 5 and a delicious meal. One of our meals wasn't right and was replaced quickly and with a smile. Another table was impatient and got up and left. They have that prerogative I suppose. However as mentioned previously, we have been coming here for years and this was not a typical night for them. Definitely come here for a fantastic French meal! Yes we were there with a large group for Thanksgiving last year. The food was excellent. Owners are a French couple from Bordeaux, France. The real France. Not Canada. Sorry dear French Canadians... Make sure you get your own check because things get confusing. They also charged a corkage fee at Thanksgiving. I think it was about $18 a bottle. Their wine by the bottle prices are a little bit high, but that again $18 corkage and a cheap $6 bottle of wine from Trader Joes is probably less money than getting the wine there unless you can afford their wine prices. But everything was really good. It was it very traditional American thanksgiving meal with turkey and all the trimmings. I have also been there for lunch and I had excellent French onion soup, and a crabmeat salad. Great cappuccino too! read more
