Excellent stop for riders. Strong drinks and good food. I recommend stopping here if you are ever in the Alpine area.

This place was suggested by our close friends. We looked at the website before going, which said brunch was being served till 1 PM. We arrived at noon and they were only at about 30% capacity. We were told brunch was no longer being served. The Brussels sprouts were really good. Our waiter did not know the details of the special for the day. The valentines dinner was tasty. However, our other meal was totally screwed up. When we paid our bill, we were told our neighboring table had paid ours, but it was "ok" because the waiter said we could just pay theirs! We saved 43 cents! Overall the food was good. read more

In our quest to find another good breakfast place here in East County, we saw the reviews for this place and couldn't believe them to be true...so off we went! We weren't sure if they still served breakfast because the sign that normally advertises that event with hours was run over, according to the friendly bartender. So in we go, first impression? Very nice, it is, as many people have written very clean and it smells fine. Even though it is carpeted, there was no funky, yeasty, stanky smells...Lots of big screen tvs...electronic darts, pool tables, a video keno machine AND the reason they lost one star, OLD, LOUD MEN CUSSING LIKE WANNA BE MARINES and giving the joint a decidedly worse than divey feel. Now the reason we were there was not because of them but to try the food. The chef came out, a young lady named Nora and took our order. Friendly, helpful and truthful about the food, we were not disappointed. She mentioned to us that she had just finished culinary school and by the description of her menu, it sounds like we will be back for dinner as well. I wanted chicken fried steak but there was none so she suggested the pork chops and eggs. In our house, pork chops are pork steaks with bones because I hate dry pork and I like a little fat. These were pork loin steaks, very well seasoned, deliciously moist and just plain yummy, just like she promised. My eggs were scrambled soft exactly as I asked and instead of potatoes, Nora substituted some of THE best pork sausage gravy I've ever had!! I think the biscuits were premade but even that didn't dampen the awesomeness of the gravy...you could dip a flip flop in that damn gravy and it would taste great. :o) My husband had his usual ham and cheese omelet, hash browns and crispy, well buttered, dark brown and nutty toast. Not cheap $1 loaf fake wheat...this was good bread and the omelet had chunks of ham steak....heavenly! We will go back and if anyone there ever reads this review, PLEASE ASK THOSE OLD FARTS settle the hell down when people come in. I get it old dudes, your high school days were your best and hanging out and drinking shots and beer early on a Saturday morning is your thing, but for the love of God, leave the F-BOMBS and M-F BOMBS in your car. I know your regulars and your social security check probably pays lots of bills in the joint but come on, drop that hard ass shit and be a quiet drunk doing the breakfast hours. read more

This is a really good five-star restaurant masquerading as a dive bar. I think the owner likes to see the look on peoples faces when they get their deliciousness while surrounded by locals playing pool and debating the finer points of tattoo design. The Casino Inn far exceeded my expectations. The food was served quickly, hot, and by attentive staff. I've never had a bad meal there, nor has my glass ever gone empty before Reinforcements arrived. Lived in Alpine 17 years and decided to go down and give it a try based on the reviews on here. Went in, no one greeted us. We sat down, looked at the menus on the tables. A full bar with a bartender and good sports on large tvs. Sat for at least 12-15 minutes ,not one person ever came to our table. I guess there is some "rule" maybe you have to go order at the bar? Never been to a place that serves drinks and food and no one ever came out to serve its customers. Whats the point of menus at the table? I guess you have enough regulars that the waitress don't come out on the floor. So if you come in a group ,does each person have to go to the bar one by one to order? Do you also have to wash dishes after you eat? Post the rules somewhere like you do on the door for cash only. No wonder this place was for sale on Craiglist, no service!!!!!!!!!! read more

Oh Casino Inn, how many sundays have started here and ended where I didn't know where I was. Actually when you say the name "casino inn", conjure the image of vegas. Lights, hot women, all the flashy stuff... well that is the exact opposite of what you get here. Its a dive, very dimly lit, and usually its an older crowd. However, it is a very fun place to go and chill with friends. The food is good. Pretty basic breakfast menu, but its very cheap. Literally $6.00 for a good sized meal. Drinks are super cheap. I know lots of people say that about a lot of places, but where else can you get a STIFF $4 bloody mary. It may have been 3 dollars, oh well who cares, if im off, when you go with me, ill pick up the difference. Its a chill place, nothing fancy, and the bartender is really cool. We had different items from their menu tonight for dinner. Swiss burger, salmon salad, turkey chili, TJ hot dog, onion rings, and chicken tenders for our 2 year old. We were all greatly satisfied with our dinner. Everything tasted great. We are now planning to go again some other day when we want some takeout. We have been going to Casino Inn for almost 3 years. We went last week and took our grandson, everything was great! So, Saturday he wanted to go again , so we went again. We got there , they brought us our beers ( they know what kind of beer we like), the waitress saw our grandson and said kids were not allowed, I was so embarrassed . I've been going to Casino Inn for several years, love the breakfast and their burgers!! Had a bit of a bad service experience a few days ago and just wanted to give a shout out to our waitress Kelly. Busy day, low staff and a few unexpected large groups. Kelly did a good job and my observation is that management should have been more visible. I've been to this place 2 times in the past 3 months and both times got stuck with the same server - who sucked horribly. We were a party of 4 (2 couples) and waited nearly 15 minutes just to get menus and another 15 minutes to order drinks. Our server barely checked on us and half of the food ordered came out lukewarm at best. When we all were done and wanted to leave we waited over 45 minutes to get our bill - the first time. When we asked the server to separate the check for the two couples it took another 30 minutes just for him to come back and say their system wouldn't do it so he brought the entire bill and told us to mark which items would be on a separate check. Okay, no problem. Our server never came back and we had to go track him down to give him to get the separate checks created. However, it took him another 25 minutes just to create the 2 separate checks and us asking another server to track him down. When he finally came back he said "when a large party orders a lot of food it's hard to create separate checks." Which, for our group with 2 bigger guys didn't think a party of 4 ordering 2 beers each person, 3 shots, one couple ordered 5 appetizers and the other couple ordered 2 appetizers and 1 sandwich and 1 wrap is a lot of food. Before the waiter could walk away and leave us waiting for who knows how much longer,, we asked him to wait to give him our cards to pay our checks. When we were finally were able to leave, the waiter interrupted one couples conversation of saying bye to friends they met up with just to say in a rude tone "I hope you have a great night" and put his hand to the front side of his face like whatever and walked off. Talk about rude and distastef when he was the one who messed up and sucked at his job. We all definitely will NOT be coming back. DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY AT THIS PLACE. However, if you must ask for Kate as your server - she was on top of her job and great with her customers. read more

Came here on a Friday afternoon to have lunch with my dad and I'm so glad we came. It's definitely a rare gem in San Diego that more people should know about. It is in the middle of no where but let me tell you, I will be coming back. The vibe was very chill, with country music playing. They have a very upgraded juke box so customers can control the music! My dad have the mushroom swiss burger and I had the jalapeño burger. this place hands down has THE BEST BURGERS I HAVE EVERRRRRR HAD! You can tell it's not made by frozen patties because they were thickkk juicy and sooo tender! I would definitely recommend the Jalapeño burger. Not only does the cook Brandon make the best burgers but what cook do you know comes to the table and ask how you want your burger?? Man I'm not sure what to say, came for Mother's Day (today) got scheduled for our table at 11am and sat down at 11am, we haven't left yet and it's 1:34pm. So to start off we had a party of 11, waitress was super nice but either overworked or not used to this. We got our drinks out about 20 minutes after being seated, than the fun began! We order our food maybe 30 minutes after being seated. Which would be about 11:30am we didn't get our first plate out until about 12:50pm. There was two plates brought out and it was the French toast. It was good according to the others who got that but after that we waited another 10/15 min for the next 3/4 plates. Than we waited another 20 minutes for the last set of plates (chicken and waffles which came out around 1:20 about a hour and 50 minutes since we ordered ). Which was about 4/5 of our party including me, the waffles were so hard I had to put real force into my knife and press down a lot lot harder than one should have to for a waffle. The chicken was decent but it's just so unreal to me how long we had to wait. This place obviously isn't built for days like this and if it was just me I would have left a LONG time ago. But since it's a family thing I stuck it out. This is crazy I don't understand why it would take so long this place was busy but nothing compared to other restaurants nearby. Either understaffed or they just don't care; all comes back to management in my opinion but this was a disastrous and unbelievable to me. Oh yeah and for our 2 hour and 45 here not voluntarily after we finally got all our food we got comped a $13 drink. LOVED THE FOOD! We are hooked! We were looking for something new for breakfast and decided to pull in this morning to give it a go, and WOW!!! Both of our first bites were FANTASTIC! I took a bite of the potatoes o'brien and my taste buds went nuts! My husband, who NEVER gets overly excited about ANY food, took a bite of his breakfast sandwich and said "Mmmm. That's really good." n he continued with the "mmm" sounds as he ate the 1/2 biscuits and gravy (I'm a bit offended because he has never done that with MY cooking! lol). I had the country-fried steak and eggs with wheat bread. The bread was even great and nutty. Oh, and our waitress was very very nice!! I love this place, especially Tiffany. Everytime my friends and I go there she's amazing, fun and takes great care of us. However it's been brought to my attention that she is being pushed out because she's older. She's hot, fun and cares about customers. As a 50 year old I think crazy to lose your job because of age. It's a great bar but if she goes WE will not go back. She's part of the experience. New owners need to reprioritize and grow up read more

The place is OK if you just want to hang out and drink, but if you are planning on going there to eat, you will be quite disappointed because their service is lousy. We went there for breakfast on a Sunday morning, nobody even bothered to greet us or acknowledge that we were waiting for service, we just sat there for 20 minutes as though we were invisible. We ended up having to flag down a server to tell her that we were interested in ordering breakfast.. After finally placing our order, it took approximately 40 minutes to receive our food. The food was mediocre and wasn't worth the long wait. There are a lot of choices in Alpine to eat, I'd definitely pass on the Casino Inn in the future. read more

My boyfriend and I come here every time we come to Alpine! We came here the first time by accident! Brandon's cooking is literally to die for every single meal I've ever had! I would hire him as my personal chef if I was rich! I highly recommend this place to everyone! Make sure you get Brandon's food no matter what is on the menu! I love this bar! I always have such a great tine here. I finally got a chance to try their food a few Saturday's ago. It was the Prime Rib and it was AMAZING. And I had no idea they had live music, but a great band was playing that night. Misty and the Mobys. They were great and kept the crowd dancing. Trish, the bartender, was a blast too. We took a trip to Alpine to grab some lunch. Saw this cool dive bar on the side of the road so we figured we would give it a try. Sat down and the very friendly bartender poured us a couple of beers and had the lovely kitchen lady come out to take our food order. I've lived in San Diego all my life and the burger I had here was definitely in the top 10. We received our bill, which was $28.50. I gave her my credit card and left a $1.50 tip along with $6 in cash. A couple of days later I looked at my credit card statement to find I had been charged $34.75 instead of the $30 I had intended. I called the Casino Inn and the woman who answered said it must have been a mistake and everyone who works there is honest. She said she would pass my information to Fred and he would call me to take care of the overcharge. I have not heard from Fred now in a couple of days so I am writing this review hopefully to get somebody's attention who might care about their customers getting overcharged due to a "mistake". The $4.75 is not important to me, however the idea of possible theft is. Other than that, the place was great, the employees were friendly and the food was delicious.
