This place hit the spot. As good tourists, we toured Fenway and stopped in for a drink and snack. The bartender was great, really easy-going. Mr Muscle ordered some beer, pretzel, and boneless buffalo tenders. Bartender tells us that every thing is made on-site. And I believe him because the chicken tenders were incredibly good. Fresh, perfectly breaded, and cooked. Excellent choice. Based on these tenders, I would recommend anything in the place! Came down here for a socks game and found this place because it was not as crowded as the others. The game has already started we wanted to grab some cheaper food (than the stadium has) and drinks before heading in. We got the pulled pork which was a large portion as it also came with two sides. We got Vegas bombs which our bartender (a teacher during the school year) actually knew how to make and he made them strong! Just moving up here from Texas. CnF is the place to eat and take in all kinds of nostalgia if you find yourself in the Fenway Park area. It's been a neighborhood gem for decades, and continues to draw baseball fans and tourists alike at an almost ridiculous rate. It's got an old, Irish pub vibe that has a huge beer/drink menu to go with the wide variety of offerings on the menu from your typical pub/ballpark fare to more fresh and seasonal offering (like the lettuce tacos, which I ordered). The servers and staff always bustle around with a smile on their face and keep the meal and flow going to ensure you get where you need to be on time and aren't waiting on a drink or meal. I've been to CnF multiple times during RedSox games and while taking visitors to see the park when games aren't there. The experience is consistent, the food is good, and prices are (relatively, for Boston) reasonable. If you are making your way to Fenway for a game or just to see the park you can't go wrong with CnF. I had one of the worst experiences on Thursday evening. I will preface this with I've been here many times before, mostly before Sox games where the service is on point even though they are slammed. That CANNOT be said for what I experienced last night. The restaurant was maybe 3/4 full but the bar was practically empty (6-8 patrons). The hostess was friendly and quick to greet but that was where the good service ended. I sat at the bar and the bartenders took 10 minutes to even acknowledge me. When I placed my order (wings and fries) I was told there was an issue in the back and the chef had come out to "read the riot act" to the bartenders. The wings and fries were both lukewarm when I received them. I didn't receive any silverware/napkins from the bartenders when they delivered my food and luckily a nice server dropped some off well after my food was delivered. Not once did the bartenders come to check on me and they walked past my empty dishes a few times without clearing. I'm not sure what was going on but with how few patrons were at the bartenders I would have expected better service. read more

We sat at the bar after hovering at the front with no employees making eye contact. The bartender took our drink order quickly, but never asked if we wanted to order food. Menus were on a qr code- which means a bartender has no idea if we are looking at the menu or just screwing around on our phones. I used the restroom & told John if no one took our order by the time I returned than we would party the tab & find food elsewhere. When I got back- still no service. So then we were intentionally trying to catch anyone when a 2-day new employee asked if we needed to order & John launched into our food order. Well- crap. Food came out pretty quick, thank goodness & the food was good. I just got a bowl of clam chowder & John got the Fenway burger & loved it! So- 4 stars for food & 2 for service. Waited about 10mins, zero service, not even a menu, but the workers had no problem standing literally right behind me having a conversation. Ordered my food, came out wrong and I immediately went and threw it up in the bathroom. I took one single bite. More time goes by to the point where I just ask for the check and left. The atmosphere alone is awesome. Right next to Fenway doesn't get much better. The building itself seems huge to me, it's deceiving how far back it goes. I've been here twice and the "wait time" has always been either accurate or better - and both times were before games. There is outdoor dining, which is great. Everything is socially distanced, and there's still rules on masks. The food I've gotten has always been great. The first time I came, I got the chili which I thought was great. Our most recent trip, I got the lettuce tacos, and I have to say....they were awesome. Seriously. The spiciness in the chicken and sauce combined with the slaw (mango), was so good. And they were huge!! My husband got the fish and chips, which he also said were delicious. So good food, beer, huge TVs with all the games on, and a great atmosphere. I've been to Cask'n Flagon twice now, and I liked my first experience better than the second. This time around, I arrived with my girlfriend without a reservation around 5:20. This seemed to be before peak time, so we were seated quickly and immediately greeted by several members of the waitstaff. We got our waters and put our food order in rather quickly. They were very polite and super flexible especially when we wanted to substitute one of the sides for a side caesar salad! However, I noticed a difference in the food. Both times, I've ordered the grilled chicken focaccia sandwich with fries. The sandwich this time around had less flaky bread, which was disappointing. Otherwise though, the sandwich was delicious! My girlfriend ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, and we split both the sandwich and the wrap. I noticed that the wrap was very messy and fell apart easily. The fries were super fresh and crispy, and were absolutely delicious! We were seated in a quieter area of the restaurant, away from the bar and had a great view of Boston and Fenway Park. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth a stop if you're in the Fenway area! We will be back! read more

The food overall was just okay. The Buffalo chicken dip had chunks of big pieces of chicken and the food was just kinda boring. We had a great server who was friendly and was the reason for the 3 stars. We all got ID going in even though we were just going to eat. Even my parents who are well over 60+. However as we were walking out they were just letting people walk in and was not asking for the ID of any of them. The people working the doors were pretty rude and pointed in my face. Are lunch there today. I'm in my 60's and my party was already inside with a table. Oh no, I had to go stand in line and be carded. Interesting, the men at the door studied my driver's license. Service was good. My friend ordered a burger medium rare and it was genuinely raw inside. I thought he was exaggerating but I too took a bite and it was straight up not cooked enough. Awesome pregame spot behind the Green Monster. Met a business associate here before the Blue Jays game this past Monday. Great bar, huge area with a patio and a lot of TVs. Our waiter was great! The location was awesome for people watching before the game (go Astros!) we sat outside and there was a bit of a bee problem. There was a woman selling programs at the corner for the game and yelled at the top of her lungs the entire time and that got to be a bit much! The food was less than impressive, we had the bacon cheeseburger... eh nothing special, honestly a Big Mac is better! We also had the burnt ends with Mac n cheese and sweet potato fries. The fries were soggy and just yuck. The mac n cheese had no flavor aside from a canned white cheese taste, the meat was pretty fatty and not a traditional Texas burnt end by any means. Oh! Had family in town and a couple of us decided to go to a 4pm Saturday Red Sox game. Have always walked by Cask'n'Flagon but never tried it. Showed up at Noon (couple hours before Fenway opened the gates) and told the hostess we wanted a table for 2 outside, she told us we'd ge a text within 20 minutes when our table was ready. We wandered around on Landsdowne for maybe ten minutes before we got the text. Got seated out front with a great view of the back of the Monster. Our server was prompt and efficient, but he wasn't overly friendly (but in his defense he had a busy section and didn't seem to have anyone bussing his tables for him, so he was working pretty hard). Menu was only accessible using a stupid QR code, but once we got it loaded up it had lots of good looking options to choose from. I was intrigued by the blackened chicken lettuce wraps, the chicken wings, the fish and chips, and the Cask burger, but settled on a half-rack of BBQ ribs with beans and sweet potato fries and a beer. Food didn't take that long to come out, tasted delicious, and was priced about what you'd expect for a spot right next to Fenway. My only minor complaint was the half-full, tiny cup of baked beans felt like a stingy amount for a side. In all, it felt like a solid spot to grab a pregame meal on a nice fall Saturday. read more

I was really impressed by this restaurants organization and execution. For being in such a high volume location they executed the menu in a very timely as well as tasty fashion. Our party of six showed up on a busy Thursday evening just an 1 1/2 before the Red Sox vs. Twins game next door. We only had to wait about fifteen minutes before they were able to get us seated and underway. The service was speedy and we were able to make it to the game and our seats before the first pitch. When walking by other tables I noticed some pretty impressive appetizers they offer an enormous swinging pretzel and cheese as well as a creamy buffalo dip in a bread bowl. I ordered the buffalo dip in a bread bowl for the table and it was a hit. Nothing was left. For my main course I had the Chicken focaccia club. I also tried some of my friends BBQ sandwhich and another friends turkey burger. The focaccia club was so delicious and prepared perfectly. Everyone's french fries came out piping hot and with just the right amount of seasoning. My friends bbq sandwich was pretty good for a high volume restaurant and the burger I tried was good as well. They gave us a really good experience with fresh hot food in a timely manner. The menu is really large as is the restaurant so that is a feat. I'd really like to be able to make it back here sometime so I can try more menu items that looked tasty. The only thing I didn't like is that they require you to hand over an ID or credit card in exchange for seating buzzer. They say its because people try to run off with the buzzing coasters--but I honestly don't think it has to be as serious as to require the hostess hold onto your personal items.
