We were in Boston for a Red Sox game and wanted a good burger. Found "The Kenmore" on yelp and headed down. Nice bar area, mostly high top tables. The service was good, our waitress seemed new but she did a nice job of keeping our drinks full and checking in on us. I had the "breakfast burger" and the other two in my party had "the special k" burger and calm chowder. Being a weirdo I ordered the Brussels sprouts as a side and no bun on the burger. We went there just to have a burger. And because it was slow, we were able to safely eat gluten free because they do offer gluten-free buns, but they toast regular buns on the grill. If it hadn't been so slow, I don't know if I would've felt comfortable, knowing the kitchen would still clean the grill well enough to make the burger safely. That said the burgers were OK. Also, they said the fries were gluten-free however they were made in a shared fryer so they are not in fact gluten-free because of cross contamination I think you should just come here for the bar. read more

My sister and I stopped here for a quick bite after seeing Jake Shane and the staff is soooo lovely! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the bar tender was very accommodating given we were there about 45 minutes before the kitchen closed. They have really good prices for their food! I opted for their BBQ burger with cajun fries and it was delicious! My sister for their Brussel sprouts and a hot dog and I could tell it hit the spot for her! I don't ordinarily write about business models, but that's what struck me here. The Kenmore has a straight-forward, honest menu, and service to boot. Hey, it has a section only for "Hot Dogs." At $5.95, it's fair and direct, as everything else in this pub. "Handhelds" are for burgers; "Sharables/Soups/Salads" are for...you can figure it out. That's the point, it's all there in front of you - no games, no hidden costs, no nonsense. Even the chalkboard drink menu has sections for Drafts, Ales, Ciders, Sours. And there is no high music level, yet there is music at just enough volume for background. It has a bar vibe, yet a gentler restaurant vibe. Some people are not coming in for a bar experience, so there's no intimidation factor. Our server, Nathan, was very friendly, yet efficient. The same goes for Dave. And there's the consistency too - American value and promised delivery...honestly It is part of a consortium with the same owner. This is a solid spot for a cheap, quick bite to eat while watching the game. My girlfriend and I found ourselves amid the chaos of a Fenway baseball game, super hangry. We ventured to the Kenmore area to avoid the crowd and stumbled across this place. It's a small little sports bar with high top seating. We sat at the bar and the bartender took the time to explain the menu despite it being busy. The prices here are super cheap for pretty solid food. I ordered a brunch hot dog with Cajun fries for $8. My girlfriend got a double California turkey burger with a side salad. The bartender accidentally served my girlfriend somebody else's burger at first, and then took the plate out from under us and gave it to the guy sitting next to us, which was a bit odd but we didn't touch the burger so it was fine. Her real burger was tasty and cooked perfectly. I would definitely come here to watch sports and grab a cheap bite to eat. Our meal for two people was about $20. Amazing! read more

A small, intimate space with a nice ambiance. The staff were friendly and accomodating staff and the food we had was very good. I had a shroom burger and side salad and my partner had a chicken quesadilla. The side salad came with shredded cheese and crumbled bacon and a very nice balsamic dressing. That was a pleasant surprise! The quesadilla was very nicely done. The only negatives are... The menu is pretty limited if you're coming to eat and not drink as we were, but I guess it's really more of a bar than restaurant. And the clam chowder was just too expensive to take a shot on At $9.95 for a cup and $12.95 for a bowl it doesn't leave much room for an otherwise very affordable dinner. Kind of a small hole in the wall spot? I feel like I found a hidden gem. It's cozy, the food is SO cheap, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I got the kenmore dog, which honestly was a regular hot dog with average toppings, but it hit the spot! Would 100% come back to try the other varieties, they're all under $6. The K burger was perfectly medium rare, juicy, and the K sauce is to die for. Caesar salad is delicious. Portions are a bit smaller than your typical restaurant (but perfect for me honestly), salads and fries are an extra $2.50 but for the burger/hot dog price point, whatever. We happened to come in on a day where Kona beer was having an event and we got free hats- super cute and Kona beer's one of my favorites. Anyway, as much as I'd like to keep the Kenmore as my secret, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick cheap bite :) read more

No wait on a Tuesday night and our server was friendly, prompt, and extra patient with me when I couldn't make up my mind on what to order. Was at The Kenmore today...8/11/2024. What a superlative place. Both of us had a hamburger for $6.75 and shared a hot dog, which was $4.50. The burger, on a brioche bun--cooked a perfect medium-rare--had bibb lettuce, tomato and pickles. It was one of the most flavorful burgers I've ever had. The hot dog was on a buttered hot dog roll. Again, one of the best hot dogs ever. Even better than the food was the service and staff. 5-star all the way. This place is a right on Commonwealth Avenue, and a 7 minute walk to Fenway Park. I ordered online for takeout, and picked it up a little while after the promise time. They had to go out back to check on it (no big deal, but I'm surprised because they immediately brought it out). I ordered the fries tray with a side of ranch and a pub burger with tomato. They didn't give me the ranch, and there was no Kenmore seasoning. I'm quite disappointed. The hubs and I stopped in after a Yanks-Sox game over the weekend. This is the spot where Lower Depths used to be - which I LOVED. The service here is great. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The food was just okay. We got a quesadilla, which was a little boring, and some Philly steak and cheese egg rolls, which were really lacking in substance and flavor. They do have a good beer menu, but I wish there were more options, especially porters and stouts. Overall, it was a pleasant way to sit down, relax, and grab a drink and a bite until the T died down after the game. The workers were always so nice, the service was quick, the food was cheap and honestly so delicious, and I'd come back in a heartbeat. Right by Kenmore station, and way closer than Tasty Burger (and a better deal and ambiance), honestly one of the best burgers for price and taste I've had in a long while. There are also late night deals which are amazing, but we didn't get because we came too early (it was Sun-Thurs at 10 pm-11:30pm and Fri-Sat from 10pm-12:30 am, K Burger for 2.50 and basic dog for 1.50), but honestly with it being open so late, I'll be back.
