Fun sports bar with pretty loud music. The service was great and we were quickly asked about drinks and apps. The cauliflower bites were delicious. The BBQ pork burnt ends were too dry and tough. Even the massive amount of bbq sauce wasn't enough to hide it. I liked the sweet potato fries but the cornbread was also old and hard.

We were told to stop at Cask'n Flagon for a beer before heading to Fenway. It is literally right next to the ballpark, so easy to access before heading to a game. There was actually a nice selection of beers on tap and they had fried cauliflower on the menu, a fave of mine and the hubs. Service was quick, especially given how busy it was. I can see why this is a popular spot to hit before a game.

Cesar Caesar Salad with blackened chicken as a wrap and Sweet Potato Fries

Came with a group of 7 before the game. Arrived around 5pm and took 30 minutes or so to be sat. Super busy when we arrived and the energy was high. Menu gave a lot of options and I was able to get the Cesar salad with blacked chicken as a wrap vs salad. The wrap was tasty, chicken a tad dry and could have used a bit more dressing. Sweet potato fries were nice and crisp. As a group got the cauliflower bites (tasty with a slight kick), buffalo chicken dip in bread bowl (tasty as well) and loaded tater tot's (highly recommend). The service was great however one member of the group didn't get their meal as the incorrect prep was out into the system. There was a bit of a lag for service between drinks and food order but overall good times.

It's my first time in Boston, first time at Fenway Park, this bar came highly recommend it, so glad we decided to eat here. It was the middle of the week during the day so wasn't very crowded which was nice. The food surprised me. It's very good, the barbecue particularly. The servers and the bartender we're both very nice and attentive.. It's huge inside. This place is probably popping off at night. Wish we could've came, but we've tried to beat the huge storm that was coming in that night so we went out earlier. Did our tourist thing. Thank you for a great experience.

The service was great and down to earth here didn't feel like talking to a script. The waitress was also very informative about the items we ordered. A little slow but it was a pretty busy Saturday night. we didn't really notice as we came here before a concert and were having a good time catching up. The food was good and not too expensive considering the location. I got the fried chicken sandwich which had a great blend of sweet mango salsa combined with chipotle mayo. I opted for the sweet potato fries on the side which were also good! They have mostly high rise seating from what I could see, and I'm a bit short so I'm not a huge fan of that but that's just a personal preference. I'd love to come back next time I'm in town and try some of the other menu items!

Stopped in during a trip to Boston, and we ate after touring Fenway Park. They were able to accommodate our large group, and the food was absolutely delicious! Hands down, the best quesadilla I have ever had. The spices dusted on top were incredible! I'm so sad that I live in the Midwest and can't eat this on a weekly basis. We also ordered a few baskets of fries for the table, and WOW those were amazing! Boston is lucky to have this place.

They fancied this place up over the years, but it's still THE PLACE in the Fenway neighborhood on a game day. We went in after a game with the Dodgers, and a few of Dodger Blue got a little too lubricated. The staff shut it all down without it sliding too much sideways.

Fenway itself is pretty insular with everything revolving around Fenway Park. And just a stones throw from the ballpark is Cask'n Flagon which is a sports bar type place with plenty of seating and TVs. To our great surprise we were seated very quickly and that was the theme our entire time there. Our service was excellent in terms of friendliness, speed of taking an order, and our food coming out. Everything was very kind and very prompt considering how busy it was and I was thoroughly impressed. As for the food and drinks, the mixed drinks were not bad but a little sweet for our tastes. The food was typical sports bar food but for its simplicity it was made pretty well. Overall Cask'n Flagon was a nice family friendly place with decent food and great service, a good place to stop before a Sox game.

Convenient spot to stop for a bite and drinks if attending an event at Fenway. The restaurant is huge so it's easy to get seating. Latoya J provided 5 star service. I'd rate the food at 3 stars, it was run of the mill. The cocktails were unfortunately 2 stars, beer would've been a better choice.

We stopped in for appetizers and drinks before the Def Leppard/Journey concert. It was packed but still got a table for four in under 10 minutes. This place is loud but well worth stopping by. Our waitress was quick to get our drink orders and appetizers. The beers are reasonably priced for being across the street from Fenway. We split the jumbo pretzel and loaded tater tots. I was surprised when the food came out 10 mini after we ordered. Very pleasantly surprised with both the pretzel and the tots. Great taste and good sized portions for $15. Definitely give this place a try.

I won't lie... I came in with low expectations and they were far exceeded even if I came in expecting the best. Vibe? Exceptional. Loud. Baseball lovers paradise. The Fenway magic spills into this place. It's full of baseball fans which gives it a magical baseball feeling. Service? Our server was slammed and still ensured that we were greeted right away, we never had an empty glass for beer and water, we ordered immediately when we were ready, and she helped us cash out quickly (even adding last minute beers without complaint or hesitation). She was kind, she gave great suggestions, and never seemed overwhelmed despite the insane crowd. Food? I was so surprised by how good the BBQ was. We got the burnt ends platter and it was better than most I have had. They were a bit fattier than I hoped but flavors were off the chart. The pickled onions were made perfectly, the sweet potato fries weren't soggy, and the corn bread muffin was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I would go out of my way to go here before every game if/when I have the chance to go back.

Came to Cask'n Flagon for the first time with my girlfriend last night, and left feeling very satisfied! We walked in on a Friday around dinner time, and were seated right away. At first glance, it was a bit loud and crowded (as expected for a sports bar), but the waitstaff took us to a more secluded area within the restaurant (might I mention, unprompted) which was more quiet. This was appreciated! The service was phenomenal, and all of the waitstaff was very friendly. Our food came quick (within 20 minutes) and it was MIGHTY delicious! My girlfriend and I split the Buffalo chicken wrap and grilled chicken focaccia sandwiches. We each order one entree so we could share and split them! On the side we got fries and a Caesar salad-- the salad was a substitute and we were able to order it without any extra charge! The portions were perfect, the food was fresh, and amazing. The grilled chicken sandwich was extremely flavorful and the pesto sauce was one of the best I've ever had. The Buffalo chicken wrap was very good, but slightly messy. The fries were average and the salad was good, but I would've liked a little bit more dressing! Overall, we had a great time here, and will definitely be back!

Spent many years walking by this place and finally decided to try it. Location wise, it is great. It is located right near fenway Park (parking around here can be expensive depending on when you are there. Avoid parking there during events if you don't want to pay an arm and leg). Someone in my party was already there when I arrived, so we were immediately seated. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside, which was nice. I didn't step inside the restaurant. So, I can not comment on the interior or the ambiance. Our waiter arrived shortly after sitting and was very friendly. They were new to the job but did a good job. Someone in our party had a gluten allergy, and they took that very seriously, which was nice to see. The drinks were very tasty. The food was mediocre. I ordered a foccia grilled chicken sandwich, and I wish that the bread was warmed and the cheese/cheese spread was melted more. Also, I was the bread was more of a foccia bread rather than a fluffy roll. The sweet potato fries were tasty but I wish they arrived hot

Ask the Community - Cask'n Flagon

Is Cask'n Flagon family friendly? Are we OK bringing minors?

They ID at the door on game/concert nights but I don't see why not

Do you show UFC fights here?

No. Staff won't let you ask to change to a specific event

Would I be able to watch the Penn State game here on a Saturday night?

I'm not sure of the answer for you but seems how the Socks aren't playing now it might be a good likelihood. They have a lot of TV's. If no one replies with an answer I'd call and ask the restaurant itself. Have fun :)

I have a 16-year-old son, will we be able to eat here?

I went around 9 pm. You are carded at the door. So with a certainty I can say no if you are going late evening.

Thank you to all the strangers who kindly stepped aside and took photos of us (or me, since it was my first time). By the way, two hours before first pitch on a weekday afternoon, we were excited to see that the bar had opened early at 11 not 11:30. The energy was electric and exhausting though; the bartenders hustled through a half-depleted tap list while the crowd of tourists and diehards made the most of it. When we left with 90 minutes to spare, the line stretched down the street with a bouncer holding it together. Smart money was on bloody marys and cocktails; the taps were not having a good day. Go early, go thirsty, go for the view.

It's like someone mashed together an amusement park, a zoo, and a full-blown circus, then replaced the cotton candy with alcohol and the safety rails with chaos. Every floor felt like a different dimension--one minute you're vibing, the next you're dodging a human traffic jam like it's bumper cars. But the real main event? Colleen. First floor. Absolute legend. Watching her work was like witnessing a headliner performance before the headliner. She wasn't bartending--she was conducting a symphony of pure mayhem. Drinks flying out of her hands like fireworks, orders remembered with supernatural precision, cracking jokes, keeping the energy electric--it was like if a ringmaster, a magician, and a quarterback all fused into one person behind the bar. I showed up stone-cold sober. Like, "responsible adult grabbing a pre-show drink" sober. What happened next was less of a night out and more of a controlled demolition. Somewhere between Colleen's perfectly poured chaos and the multi-floor madness, time stopped making sense. I'm pretty sure I blacked out on one floor and woke up on another like I was fast-traveling in a video game. At one point I may have been part of the circus. Not watching it--part of it. By the time I left, "walking" was no longer an option. I exited the building in a full crawl, like I had just survived a natural disaster. Limbs questionable, dignity gone, spirit intact. 10/10.
