I really wanted to love this place because I've heard so much about it, but this is my second visit back and both of them were mid. The first time I got a steak and cheese sub, and it was pretty disgusting. It had literally one square of melted cheese on top and the steak was so dry- I guess the bread roll was good but the sandwich was really 3 out of 10. Today I ordered again and I got two large pizzas and two pasta. I will say the large pizza is a double XL. It could feed 3 to 4 people I should've gotten mediums. I got one full of cheese, which was OK six out of 10- little overcooked. The other one I did have pepper pepperoni half buffalo chicken because I asked what was something I needed to try that was great and the lady said buffalo chicken- hated it. The flavor was OK. You can't really mess up buffalo, but it was over done and the chicken was dry and I didn't really have enough cheese like it was more so buffalo chicken on top of the saucy overcooked crust... I'm not sure. Kind of grossed me out. I haven't tried the pepperoni yet. I might just throw away all of the leftovers, but it doesn't look all that impressive- photo attached. On a better note, honestly the pastas are pretty solid. My daughter loves the spaghetti. It is kind of awesome that they put a fat slab of cheese melted on top of all the pastas that they bake over. The manicotti was pretty good as well I would come back probably for spaghetti and manicotti. Would never get another pizza here, and I wouldn't even eat the sub if it was free. I know this has been around since the early 80s. I'm assuming that it's probably just not as good as it once was.. disappointing. Every time I called, I was told it was "5-6 minutes away," which was simply not true. If you have any expectations of receiving your food within the delivery time they quote, don't waste your time ordering from here. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of customer service. The manager, Virginia, seemed to think that offering a discount would make up for repeatedly giving inaccurate delivery updates. It doesn't. A discount doesn't excuse misleading customers or wasting their time. To top it all off, she hung up on me during our conversation. Honest communication and basic customer service go a long way. Unfortunately, this experience showed neither. I won't be ordering from Casola's Pizza again, and I certainly can't recommend it based on how they treated a paying customer. As soon as you walk in you a greeted by Lulu one of the associates here. She was super sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. I was going to ask for two slices each for my mom and I but she recommended one slice per person because each slice are two slices in one. We agree with her these slices are huge. The pizza was delicious. My mom and I also shared a tiramisu it was delicious. For drinks we had free cup of water because we didn't want to drink soda. The restaurant was clean and it was not packed like it is on the weeknights. I asked the associate and they said that this restaurant is opened until 1 am and on the weeknights it is opened until 2am. The parking is free and near the restaurant. We had the 1/2 dozen garlic rolls, slice of meat lovers pizza, 6 HUGE wings, and Oreo cheesecake. The food is extremely plentiful, with portions being huge. Prices are decent for sizes, we spent roughly $60. Visited on a Thursday evening and it was busy but not as it would be on a weekend. I decided it's been Years since I stepped into Casola's pizza! it's did not disappoint the slices were a little smaller than back in the day But still pretty plentiful 1 slice cut in 2 easily you can get 2 slices to be shared with a party of 3 , it was a party of three so we got 3 pepperoni slices and a order of Chicken wings the person I went with had never been there before and did not understand that they're not normal chicken wings. They did not disappoint. They're still huge chicken wings if you want yourself some huge chicken wings. This is your spot. It was excellent. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly. A lot of things have changed since the pandemic & never really reviewed the changes that got made after. They have new ownership & the guy seems to have made some improvements. Their sauce much like their bread used to depend heavily on who made it where as now it's more consistent because it's the same exact recipe every time. It's on the sweeter side, it's ok. I like light sauce anyway. It used to be heavy on the oregano, that's for sure. The style of bread always seemed to be the identifying mark for this pizza & they've always tended to go heavier on the cheese where as now it's usually a normal amount (better in my opinion) The fresh toppings used to be all canned (remember that? lol) where as now they're fresh. They brought back the samples that COVID regulations forbid. The one thing I miss are the pizza stand pedestals they would serve the pizza on when you ordered a whole pizza for dine-in. I wish they would bring that back. I remember if I was there with people & we ordered a whole pizza, it would always be on one of those things. It frees up the table for drinks & sides where as a big clunky cardboard box takes up too much space. It also costs the business more money. The new owner made a whole website paying homage to Ramon Casola RIP (the creator of the recipe), his brother, & the son of the Cuban guy he ran it with who ran it up until the business was sold. I think that's amazing he showed respect to the founders. I have so many scattered memories in this place. People will say the slices are big but any person who's been coming here for years will know the slices are wayyy smaller from years ago. Last time I got 5 mediocre mozzarella sticks for 10.25. Although the slices are really big, i think that almost $7 for one cheese slice is pretty crazy. I can't believe it took me this long to come to this Miami staple! The pizza slices are massive - if you order one slice it's actually one enormous piece cut into two. It's so filling I could only eat one of the halves and took the other one home. My slice (cheese with Italian sausage and mushrooms) was perfectly cooked but my bf's pepperoni was super greasy (just the way he likes it!) We also got an order of garlic knots that were perfectly doughy and not too oily. They are apparently known for their croissant sandwiches which I'd love to try on my next visit. I came in knowing this is not the fanciest place but the first thing I noticed was a terrible stench reminiscent of a locker room. I've been coming to Casola's Pizzeria for years. Now that I live in Central Florida, I sometimes come when I'm in town. Came on a Sunday night with the family and it wasn't so full of people, which was a plus because this place is always packed. We ordered the xxl cheese pizza and it was enough for 5 people and to take home too. It comes in 8 big slices we asked them to cut it in 16 slices instead.
