Grilled ribeye with butter corn and baked potatoes.

I bought 2 ribeyes, and 1 top sirloin steak and they were absolutely beautiful. The meat was so tender it melted in my mouth. I cooked them with hardwood charcoal and my own blend of spices and brown sugar. It was a great way to celebrate a family birthday and Easter Sunday. Thank you guys for doing it right!

Short ribs

Just got some short ribs from the hot food section. I had to get on one knee and thank the lord again for this meal!

After seeing the damage done from the protesters, I decided to visit and place an order to help out. Wow! Mr Casons and team were really friendly and informative. They helped us with some selections and gave us background on our meat purchases. The store is very clean and if you don't see it in the cold box just ask, he may have it in the back. I will certainly be back! We drove 30 miles in and I won't hesitate to do it again.

Many kinds of ribs that have been marinated and chicken. Pork galore! Love their baby backs. I could go on about every item, but you have to come and check it out yourselves. There's so much ! They have all kinds of homemade sausages and summary salads. Their Hawaiian Mac salad is really good. My favorite is the pea salad.! This time we bought a 7 1/2 pound brisket to try out our new smoker! We shall see about that. I wanted to post about how wonderful everyone in there is. They are helpful and kind. It's always packed before the holidays and there is patience to go around and always a smile. Kudos to the Mount Hood pie company. We bought a Keylime pie and oh my it is so delicious. Looking forward to trying a different flavor. Thank you, Gartner's for all of your years of service and delicious eats!

The person serving me was pleasant and patient as I decide all what I wanted to order. The store was crowded and a bit loud due to all of the customers and everyone talking. The store was very clean and I would like to visit when it's less busy so I can see all of the things. Their prices are reasonable and they have some of everything. I had to resist the temptation to buy more. Even though their meats are fresh and probably tastier (I haven't tried anything yet), the prices are comparable to grocery stores where you don't know how long the meat has been sitting out or what they've added to it. 5 stars and I'll be back again!

WOW!!! That is my first thought after my lunch yesterday at Laurelhurst Market. I had been touring…read morethe cathedral of music, at Music Millennium and I asked the gentleman at the counter where was a good spot to eat. He recommended Laurelhurst, and he was right on. I have been on a Reuben kick, and the best remains at Goose Hallow. But this was a close second, as it was great. I had a half sandwich, and I am glad I did, as it was quite enough. I had the Monsignor Murphy, which featured lots of House Made Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut and Russian Dressing. I typically like a Reuben on marbled rye, as they served it on a Griddled Como Bread...and it was great. I didn't get her name at the order counter, but she was so friendly and engaging as well. Since this was my first time to the restaurant, she was able to provide me with a wealth of information. I will be back...and you can count on that.

All 3 of us quickly noticed... (Maybe they sat in back toooo long as it took a looong looong time for them to arrive after our salads).... (2) I ordered my $71 New York Steak Medium Rare. It arrived...(almost cold as I mentioned)...certainly Medium (or more)... : - ( -- My daughter ordered her Waygu Steak Medium...it arrived (almost cold) certainly Medium Rare... Oh my! (3) The Bravos Potatoes looked great (also not hot)...but to me tasted like an entire salt skaker was poured on it...I could not eat them. (5) Finally, I've ordered uncountable New York Steaks...but this (almost cold) one was the most fatty...'chewy' one I can remember...and sorry to say...lacked that great N.Y. Can I say I am a fan??? This was our first visit trying out anything with the Proletariat…read moreButchery. Needless to say, the last Friday of the month will be now on my calendar for Burger night. We arrived in the rain, it is November in Portland. So the first thing I noticed while waiting In the line outside in the rain, was everyone was super nice and asked if I had attended before. When I said no, folks said I would not be disappointed. Additionally, there was a nice older gentlemen who independently (on Halloween) was walking down the line and offering candy. Thanks for the mini snickers bite! We had a group of 7 of us last evening as we discussed "would this be worth it" as we slowly inched our way to the cashier to place our order. It is important to note, however, that while waiting in line the butcher shop walked the line (often starting at the end which was super considerate) offering slices of grilled sausages and probably some of the best toasted bread I have had. We made it - and placed our order for two burgers and potato salad. While waiting we checked out the shop - and while small, it is cozy and I can see why their classes and dinners draw in folks. They also had wine, beer and other items for sale to drink as well as a lovely self of bottles of wine. The BURGER!!! OMG - Heck yes!!!! Did I mention at the beginning I will be waiting in line on the last Friday of every month. I believe it was a brioche roll, garlic aoli, pickles and chopped onion with the best fresh, grilled on a fire hamburger patty I have had. Oh - and I am a total food snob. I can say this - those were big burgers and two of the guys in our group went back and ordered a second burger to eat. My husband also then raided their freezer for meats for us to bring home and prep ourselves. One of those was a beautiful Tomahawk and I cannot wait to cook it to perfection. I promise I will "not F it up." While I don't want the lines to get longer, I cannot deny my role as a Yelp Elite is to proactively share great experiences for others. So I kindly do this although this is one that I would prefer to keep a secret. Next up - I am signing up for classes!!! It's been a while since my time in CA where I learned to butcher a pig and make sausage. I saw that Proletariat Butchery offer bacon making classes. SCORE!!!

However we found a Tomahawk, some sausage and they were able to grab us some hamburger patties from the refrigerator. Great, friendly and helpful staff. I will be back again and again.
