Gotta say, it's the only place I have found Seven Bone Pot Roast in quite some time. Good store, nothing fancy, but they do a fine job.

First time here today! Wow! I love this place. Super friendly as you can see from other reviews…read more And! Very funny, the gentleman, as we walked in, asked if it was one of our birthdays?! Odd, as we were not in festive dress, but it was my partners birthday! He was cutting some amazing ribeye, and that's what we were looking for--he said he got us, and wow. Take a look at those steaks! Selection is good! But, a small place can't be expected to have 100s of items, but everything is carefully chosen and fresh. I'll be back for those oxtails for sure! Also, there was a very wonderful lady there with her fresh baked goods, not sure if that's a regular thing or or a pop up, but shout out to the strawberry pound cake. This is now going to be our regular spot for great meats! As far as price goes, I would say competitive with Gartner's and even some groceries, but this place is special, so you get what you pay for. Oh, and there's a big parking lot in the back, which is great on the busy street.

I purchased some of everything, including a pie, and everything we've tried so far has exceeded my hopes. The best part is the products are sourced fairly close. No meat from Australia here. The information about the different ranches and farms is in their website and on signs in the store. They are also happy to talk with you about them. The store is charming and welcoming. Be aware that parking is tricky. There's a bus stop directly in front of the store and there's only one spot in their parking lat and it's only for vehicles needing wheelchair accessibly. The only place to park in front is on the curb just before the store.

I was absolutely in food heaven here. We made a reservation in advance, and wow, I'm so glad we…read moredid! We were provided with complimentary tomato bisque in cute little cups to start off the meal. It had a nice, light spicy kick that immediately got things going. We ordered the clam chowder with bone marrow, and this was absolutely the best clam chowder we have ever had. The dish comes with a cooked bone marrow on top that you're meant to scrape into the chowder, along with five medium clams still in their shells. Remove everything from the shells, scrape that glorious bone marrow into the chowder, and give it a really good stir. Keep the bone in the bowl for the extra flavor. Then enjoy what might be the best clam chowder of your life. We also ordered the beef tongue, which was another amazing appetizer. The combination of horseradish, tiny potato salad, capers, crispy little pork rind pieces, and the sauce on top of the beef tongue was SO flavorful. I was, indeed, back in divine food heaven. For our entrees and sides, we ordered the green beans, skirt steak, and pork chop. The green beans had an Asian-inspired preparation with fish sauce, cashews, and Thai basil. They were incredibly flavorful, with the Thai basil adding a nice freshness. The skirt steak was perfectly cooked to medium and seasoned beautifully with smoky flavors. The accompanying chimichurri added a fresh, herby contrast. And then there was the pork chop, which was a hugeeeee surprise! Our waitress told us it was one of their most popular dishes, and now I understand why. It was huge, perfectly cooked, beautifully grilled, and served with a slightly sweeter sauce that worked so well with the pork. We ended the meal with sorbet, which was fantastic and a refreshing way to finish everything. My life is complete!

Consistently one of my favorite restaurants because of their incredible quality, flavors (Spanish,…read moreFrench, Italian-influenced Argentinian fare), and atmosphere - this was a new experience with take-out, some of the finest to be found. Authors & James Beard award-winning Chefs Gabrielle Quiñónez & Greg Denton have honed Portland's love of all things local (seasonal & freshly sourced ingredients) within a menu that maintains integrity across seasons. Whether seated "around the (wood) fire" with their massive custom grill, in the atrium, at the bar top, booth, back oyster bar, private dining, or (more recently) a vined patio - every area is primed for new and wonderful memories. Their wine program (although abbreviated) is one of my favorite in the city, heavy on Willamette picks but rounded with exquisite (but generally affordable) European & South American bottles. I sampled five courses, for take-out this visit - overall (service/ambiance, along with food degradation during transport), I'd give 3 stars, but across multiple visits (otherwise dine-in), restaurant maintains 4 stars. Servers are taking the stars for service. A favorite of mine, their BELGIAN ENDIVE SALAD is seasonally updated with cherries/sweet atop the usual endive/bitter, bleu/tart/smooth, and the texture is something fun with candied pecans & mild vinaigrette (buttery EVOO) blending with each electrifying bite. This presentation was not its freshest (endive), but could have turned during transportation. The reason I'll keep coming back: CLAM CHOWDER w SMOKED MARROW BONE is similarly elemental - each ingredient shining in its own right, but symphonic altogether. The soup itself is thin - not too filling, but incredibly rich in flavor (a touch of white wine? maybe B&W pepper?), showcasing large delicately cooked clams & melted marrow that seasons tiny cubed carrots & potatoes, onion & pork - sliced jalapeño leaves a back-end heat that's lasting & warm. This is the place you order a meat with some fat on it, so bring some friends and plan for sharing. Anything cooked on the Ann Arbor grill is better-than-basic, but I'd rather a filet that's pan-seared & oven-finished (although DO ASK for their signature Bordelaise, which is a gorgeous compliment to steak with red wine, and counterpoint to their exceptional chimichurri). To pair - FRIED RUSSET POTATOES - rustic, not a touch overcooked, but entirely original & delicious with their with horseradish aioli + dash of dill. Flavors are vaguely familiar, like an avant-garde ranch - always on-point. Dessert was SUBLIME - if only I recalled this little slice of buckwheat-toffee-cake's name. Ice cream took the heat during travel, but I imagine it's even better at the source. Points lost on service during carry-out, next time I'll send a representative.

Going into the food, the flavors were definitely all there! All of the skewers we got were amazing! The cucumber salad was also a huge highlight of the meal as the sauce from it tasted wonderful! I would highly recommend pairing whatever you get with their cucumber salad! I did have to drop it down a star as the food didn't feel very filling for the price and the music/vibe of the place felt off for having come by around 5/6pm. The atmosphere is buzzing even in the small hours, making it the perfect sanctuary for a late-night craving. It's the kind of place where the smell of charcoal and cumin hits you the moment you walk through the door, setting the stage for a solid, no-frills feast. The skewers are the undeniable stars of the show, especially the chicken skin, which was rendered down to a perfect, fatty crisp. Both the lamb and beef skewers were hit with a heavy-handed dusting of traditional spices, giving them that essential kick without overpowering the tender meat. Each bite had that authentic charred flavor that only comes from a high-heat grill, and they paired perfectly with the rest of the other food we ordered throughout the night. The absolute standout, however, was the eggplant in aluminum foil. It arrived bubbling in a pool of garlic-infused oil and soy, so incredibly soft that it practically melted off the skin. It provided a rich, savory contrast to the smokiness of the meat and is easily a must-order for anyone visiting. Between the great food and the reliable hours, this has officially become my new go-to for an after-hours meal.
