Casper's is a family owned and operated restaurant located on Main Street in Goodlettsville TN. It is serving an elevated Chef's driven menu using locally sourced ingredients. The interior is warm and inviting with a full bar and has live jazz on Friday and Saturday nights. We visited for a weekend lunch and the food was on point and Delicious. The Dinner menu has different dishes than the Lunch menu, so just be aware. They also have a beautiful fenced in back yard and a covered outdoor patio as well. This is a Scratch Kitchen serving Small Plates, Salads, Sandwiches, Entrees and Desserts. They have a full bar serving Cocktails, Wine, Beer and a few Mocktails. They also have cafe drinks like Cappuccino, Latte, Mocha and Hot Tea. I recommend stopping in if you're in the area or if your coming in from Nashville. Its about a 15 to 20 minute drive from Downtown Nashville, depending on traffic. To finish the review-- There is limited parking, but you can park at Goodlettsville City Hall right next door for free. The food was good, and I'll give them that, but the service was terrible overall. Before ordering, the four of us decided to start with the hummus and asked for extra bread. The extra bread never came when it should have, and when it finally did, they brought only two tiny slices and told us the kitchen was backed up. At that point, they honestly should not have brought it at all. The rest of the bread didn't arrive until we were already halfway through our entrees. I had also asked for balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil to go with the extra bread we were expecting. The waiter came back and said they had neither olive oil nor balsamic vinegar, but that he had brought me a different oil instead. He never explained what it was. I put it on the bread, and it turned out to be extremely spicy and completely ruined my palate. On top of that, when we first arrived, I asked the host to let our waiter know that I wanted a dessert at the end of dinner with "Congratulations on your engagement" written on the plate. She said it would be possible. But when dessert came, instead of doing what I had specifically requested, the waiter just said, "Congratulations on your engagement." It was disappointing, especially since they had already said they could do it. I made a 6ish reservation on a Friday on a whim and honestly, this is the move if you don't feel like dealing with downtown traffic. Parking was easy, and City Hall is right across the street if needed. The space is really cute, corner location, bright and airy inside. Not super upscale, but it doesn't need to be. Prices felt fair. Service was on point. Our waitress, Anna, was friendly and attentive without hovering. Food wise, we started with oysters and shrimp in garlic sauce. Both were solid, but that shrimp...phenomenal. Try that! We also had gimlets, and just know they are strong, which we appreciated. The steak was cooked perfectly, nice and tender, but had a slight sweetness that wasn't really my thing. Still good, just not my favorite flavor profile. Only downside was we were hoping for live piano jazz and the musician didn't show. That was a bit of a letdown. Grabbed a red velvet cheesecake to go and it was rich, decadent, and worth it. Cute little Bistro (parking in the rear!) not too big but has a nice looking bar. We started with the crispy wild mushrooms that were excellent!! A side of black garlic aioli complimented then so well! We both had Bistro burgers with fries.....lots of fat crisp fries with large burgers cooked perfectly! Casper's bistro is such a cute addition to downtown Goodlettsville! The inside is chic and Instagram worthy. The servers are always super friendly. I love the Reuben and also their pasta dishes are amazing. My husband usually gets the salmon with rice pilaf and it's consistently delicious. read more

We were really excited to finally try this place for the first time, but unfortunately it ended up being a bit disappointing. The service was extremely slow from start to finish--both drinks and food took far longer than expected. We had a 6:30 reservation and didn't receive our food until around 8. What made it more frustrating was the lack of communication. Neither our waitress nor a manager acknowledged the delay or checked in to see if we needed anything while we were waiting. A simple apology or update would have gone a long way. When the food finally arrived, it didn't quite make up for the wait. The steak was cold, and the burger was overcooked. We might consider coming back to sit at the bar for a drink, but overall it was a disappointing first experience. It's especially unfortunate because Goodlettsville really could use more spots like this, and we were hoping this would become a go-to. read more

This is such a cute, quaint, little restaurant. The food is amazing, and it's the perfect date night spot. They do have a kids menu if you have your kids and mine have thought it was delish. Overall good time! This is an elevated experience ($37 filet about 6oz) so keep that in mind. They have a happy hour, that would be my suggestion for the first time, sit at the bar and you'll have a great time for a couple drinks and an appy. Ambience is terrific, service was mostly good however there was no hostess the day we went (Friday @5pm) which made it weird coming. They have three doors to enter and I watched everyone walk in and stand there like "do I seat myself?" Parking is very slim but there are signs saying park at city hall. Clientele while we were there had an "old money" feel, you know the type, looking down the nose, lol. But the restaurant can't help that. read more

Went just recently with my Men's Fellowship group. They've only been open three weeks, and clearly they are still working things out. They got the drink order wrong but were quick to correct and comp. Service was very pleasant if still needing training and experience. Ambience is lovely. Please note there is parking behind and on the side with several entry doors. Breaded and friedmushroom appetizer looked great and everyone scarfed it down. The smash burger seemed popular. Everyone complimented the fries. I had a side order of salmon - a bit dry, could have used a sauce to help it. For dessert I had chocolate ganache cake. Again, too dry without enough ganache. As I was checking out, I discovered their bakery section. The mini-croissan\nt and the full size croissant were lth spectacular. The biscotti was not as sweet as I would prefer. My husband, son, and I went to Casper's last night for dinner. It was great! I think they must have hired the best bartender ever. The drinks were all spot on. (I sent an extra tip to the bartender for his art.) Everyone enjoyed their dinner. The server was great! She was very attentive and on top of things. She was able to answer all questions. The piano player was also very good, and the entire ambiance was very nice. We definitely will go again. The owner spoke with us as well. He has a great passion for the venue, and is very excited to be able to provide Goodlettsville with a quality and top notch dining experience. I ordered the steak fries. My husband ordered the salmon. My son ordered the burger. No complaints. They both also had dessert they enjoyed. (I chose a liquid desert. First, when I walked in there was no hostess to be seen, so I just say myself at the bar. Then the food was awful. We ordered some apps and a salad. The fried mushrooms, mussels, brussel sprouts, and a Caesar salad with chicken. Everything was swimming in oil! The fried mushrooms came with like a mayo/Worcestershire sauce that looked like chocolate pudding, it was inedible. The mussels were meaty, but they came in a marinara sauce (?) that tasted like boiled Rao's with a 2 cm thick layer of oil on top. The brussel sprouts were roasted in a sweet balsamic sauce, but the 'candied pecans' that were mixed in were pecans that you would buy at a store (the ones that are covered in a thick layer of cinnamon and sugar). And surprise, the brussel sprouts were swimming in oil. The Caesar salad was ok, but tossed in were shallots and odd, unidentifiable strings of lettuce (leeks maybe?) that were tough and did not pair with romaine. The chicken was fine. After, we all had awful stomach aches and had to take a Tums. This morning is not much better. 2/5 stars because the bartender was very nice. read more

Went for lunch and disappointed. I ordered a BLT with avacado and didn't get the avacado. There were only 2 people working, the bartender and a girl working the coffee area. They never asked if I needed anything after my BLT arrived. They should have then they brought me half an avacado not sliced for the sandwich so i had to cut it up. Too much mayonaise glopped on the sandwich intstead of smeared on Its great there is a new restaurant in this town because we rally need it, however I hope they up there game! As someone who has worked in restaurants and fine dining, I was shocked for the lunch pricing as it did not align with the quality and presentation of the food. My friend had ordered the pasta dish that comes with salad, but both were on the plate together, so the salad was soggy and run over with the pasta sauce. Our server seemed nice, but only came by to give us our drinks, deliver the food, and get the check. The server never checked in with us at any other point in the meal. For a meal and service at the price they are charging, I was extremely disappointed and do not wish to return. read more

I stopped by earlier this morning. The name "Caspers Bistro" next to the Casper Mansker historical sign caught my eye since I love history. The latte and chocolate croissant were very, very good. The bistro has a very nice vibe. Its spotlessly clean inside. Its much larger inside than it looks. I absolutely loved the ambiance here. It's cozy, inviting, and I love that there are no TVs. The service though, was friendly but not exceptional. They were short wait staff, and our waitress had forgotten a few things. We order a few cocktails, but was disappointed that one of the old fashions was watered down. The bartender need brandy, which was under the bench seat we were seated at, so obliged his need to look there. But Old Fashions are not made with brandy. At least none I've made, and I was a bartender. I ordered the mussels on the shareables menu. They were plentiful. Much more than needed even for four people! Great value. However, the chili tomato sauce they were in, had no flavor. And at best, tasted smoked or burnt. No flavor. I would have preferred them to be steamed in a garlic butter sauce or a light tomato sauce. I would not order the again, though the mussels themselves were tender. The two pieces of grilled bread may have been better had they been "scratched" with a bit of garlic clove and a brush of olive oil. The Roma salad was delicious, but could have served 3 people easily. I felt the leek pieces were a bit too long.. The pork chop was tender (two others ordered that). The person who had the (hangar) steak frites said it was good. Food is plentiful for the value. All in all, I want to support this quaint, cute, restaurant. I asked when I ordered my steak that I would need Heinz 57. She brought steak out and then said oh we don't have any steak sauce.
