The Kreung paste is a roasted chili paste with oil that is fiery and delicious. When we tried the Khmer Pancake - Banh Chev - the second day, we had them put a got chunk of the chili paste on the side. Ai says Kreung is pronounced "kruhng" like hung and is a blend of many spices including galangal, lemongrass, kaffir lime zest, turmeric, chiles, garlic, and shallots.
