First time trying this place the other day and found out that their brick and mortar store just opened recently. I got the Kubideh Kabob Platter ($15) with an additional side of Veggie Skewer ($6) while my husband got the Vazirie Kabob Platter ($22). Service was pretty fast. We think the kubideh was very juicy, however, the real standout for us were the chicken kabob included in the vazirie platter. They were perfectly grilled. We like how the veggie skewer tasted fresh too. The meals didn't come with any sauces so I had to ask the counter for some as we like our meals spicy. The owner gave us a sample of their spicy green sauce which he says they haven't perfected yet but it tasted good and refreshing with a little spicy kick. It paired well with the meats. Just wondering why the vazirie platter was a lot pricier at $22 than both the kubideh and jujeh ($15-$16) platters? I mean the other platters have two skewers of the same thing per plate either beef or chicken. How come this one is priced $6 more when it has two different (kubideh and jujeh) skewers in one plate? If we order the kubideh platter and jujeh platter next time, and exchange one skewer, then I guess it'll be a lot cheaper? I just don't get the pricing. This is a good kebab shop. I'm from that area of the world so I would say for a quick stop it is a good option. The rice is spot on and very fluffy. The chicken is tender and well cooked. And the vegetables are nice and charred. My only recommendation would be to salt the food a bit more. And the owner is a very nice man. I recommend this place! read more

We had our first meal there tonight. The food, each and every dish we had, was DELICIOUS. Let me double underline that for emphasis. The baba ghanouj was deliciously smokey, the accompanying pita was nicely charred. The juheh chicken plate had chunks of chicken that had been marinated and grilled. They were moist and tender (unlike the dryish, chewy chicken one sometimes encounters in other Persian/Middle Eastern restaurants) and sweet. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the accompanying tomato halves were charred and added just the right counterpoint. Best of all, the flavors were light and clean, with none of the heaviness that I've often encountered in similar cuisine. Tucked in mid downtown is this food truck with some simple but powerfully loaded kabobs at its best. Kubideh was absolute yum and highly recommended. It just melt in mouth and amazing well cooked. We had friends suggest Cassian Kabob for great Mediterranean food. My grandson had also been there before and liked it very much. We were not disappointed! Starting with the Mezze Platter that featured Baba ganoush, Mast mosire, and hummus. The pita bread that came with the platter was very fresh and both the Mast mosire and humus were some of the best I have ever had. While not a fan of Baba ganoush, this was tasty, and I will definitely order this dish again. Our party then ordered gyros a. And a vaziri kebab. The latter had 2 kebabs, one chicken and a second a blend of beef & lamb. They were both cooked perfectly and were moist and nicely seasoned. The saffron rice was tender and delicious. I really loved the mast mosire and dressed some of my kebab and rice with it. Service was very solid. You order at the counter and they deliver the meal to your table, so if you want to be waited on, this might not be for you. But for me, the food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. I have been eating Persian food for about 30 years. It's an amazing cuisine with a very rich history. I ate at Caspian kabob for the first time several months ago and really enjoyed it... However on a recent visit the quality of the food wasn't as good and the quantity of food was not standard. The chicken kabob was a little dry, the barbecue tomatoes were tiny... And the hummus was not tasty. I did enjoy the ground beef and ground lamb kebab very much... But considering the price I may not return because there are a couple of other places in town that offer more value and taste. read more

Caspian Kabob was one of the first food carts I tried in Downtown Portland. My usual to go dish is the chicken and kubideh (ground lamb and beef) combo which includes a bed of saffron rice and side salad. Everything is made to perfection on a daily. The owner, Victor is someone with a wonderful personality and is a man who cooks his food with passion. There's a side where he displays all his articles from Facebook, Twitter, and Yelp, then a story of how his food cart landed in the heart of Portland. As business started growing at Caspian Kabob, he decided it was best to move from downtown Portland to the North of Portland. The service is top notch and the owner is so friendly and kind so it pains me to give them 3 stars. However the reason for it is because the amount of chicken they serve for their entrees is far too little for the price. I can't justify paying $20 + tip per entree when I'm getting 6 very small pieces of chicken. It's not even an entire chicken breast. I hope the owner sees this review and realizes that you can't fill the entire plate with mostly rice and give such small portions of chicken and charge so much. read more

As a long time customer of the Caspian Kabob Food Cart, I was thrilled to finally visit their new location after the pandemic postponed it's opening. It came with the traditional yogurt sauce and a cucumber and tomato salad on the side... all of which tasted incredible. The great part of this all was not just eating the food, but also the experience and interactions with the owner while I waited for the food to be cooked. He's a genuinely nice and friendly guy who takes interest in each of his customers. While I waited for my food, he told stories of where he was from... which was refreshing because most food carts in the area are in a rush to push you out for the next person.
