Easy Yelp reservation. Live band music entertainment. It does get loud, but that's because people are conversing and having a good time. Great for families and gatherings. I don't recommend this spot if you're looking for a quiet romantic evening like first dates, or those we have to talk moments-unless you don't really want to hear what the other person has to say lol! If that's the case, I'd definitely take my ex mother in law here! Food is yummy. It's not your authentic dishes, but I like their twist to it. It's fun food. The lamb shank is actually the best we've had around here. I like it because the fatty oil from the shank wasn't floating in the soup broth. It's broth was actually broth and not oily broth. They also shred it from the bone for you. I like the dolma here. It was different, but I like how they added lentils into it. Yum! I drank the Sangria and it was really really good. I'm not a big drinker, but the way they made it here it tasted like fruit punch lol. However, after a few minutes I was feeling tipsy lol. Loved it! Great place and good vibes! We went there on a Saturday night. The noise was so bad you could hardly hear the person next to you. To add insult to injury, they had a band which made conversation extremely difficult unless you chose to eat outside. Service was slow, maybe the result of having so many people. Food quantity was plentiful and price was good, but food quality left something missing. Other Persian or Mediterranean places in Lake Forest (and elsewhere) do a better job. read more

I have been a Caspian customer for over 15 years and recently went to the new location in Foothill Ranch. I am giving fair warning that I am picky about food and service and would recommend going to Caspian. The Vibe - think of nouveau supper club. I was wearing flip flops and shorts for dinner, but recommend more business casual. Presentation of the food was 5 stars, but the following is where I deducted some points: It took too long to be seated and it took even longer to finally get a menu and place our food order. Getting water refills was also a challenge. The food - You need to try the vegetarian samosas. There is no picture since we devoured them once they landed on the table. The basmati rice was unfortunately too dry. The chicken and beef koobideh was dry and overcooked and the filet came out cold. Was the food still good, sure. Would I go there again, definitely yes. I chalk up lag time on service and food issues to employees getting acclimated to a new restaurant. The prices were amazingly reasonable and we were lucky to have been there during live music night where some gypsy kings covers were being played. read more

The new location is beautiful and service was excellent. We sat inside but the patio also looks really nice. I was really excited to have the Caspian move to Foothill Ranch - closer to my work and home but unfortunately the main menu was expensive for lunch and the food just wasn't great. We had 2 big events scheduled with 3 weeks a part, the first one was total disaster, it was mismanaged and the tables weren't prepared when guest arrived, plus more. We were going to cancel the next event, but we went and talked to Jesús, we told him all our concerns, and our expectations for the second event, he took notes and promised that everything is going to be alright, well he delivered, we had a very successful event, great service, lots of food, and we got what we asked for and more, it was impressive. Such a warm and inviting atmosphere with nice live music! Our server was Christopher, and he was very friendly and attentive and took good care of us while we dined. We were told to expect a delay due to a couple of parties going on, but there were no delays. The food was also great and just as we had hoped and expected! Being a resident and homeowner since 2001 and seeing restaurants come and go at this location, my family and I decided to give it a try. The décor was updated and pleasant, the staff helpful, and the food well presented. However, food taste was marginally acceptable, the martinis very disappointing (volume and taste), and the cost of four people to have dinner at $300 unacceptable. Foothill Ranch and the family orientated nature of residents here, I feel won't be able to frequent this expensive of a restaurant. I wish them luck but I expect to see a vacancy sign hanging in 6 months. read more
