When you come to her salon it's small but cute, she's easy to talk to and she uses technology from japan. She usually checks several points of your scalp to see how different each part looks. She puts blankets on you and reclines you all the way to start the scalp treatment. She does the initial hair wash and then eventually steams your scalp and puts on a hair mask as well. She also does a little bit of head/scalp massage which is super relaxing. It's a good amount of pressure but not too much. She does a great job blow drying and styling at the end! I walked in a bit early so another stylist took a stab at my hair (and spent about 10-15 minutes working on it) before my assigned stylist took over - after about 10-15 minutes, she asked me if it's OK to use a curling iron...of course I said "yes" knowing it was gonna end up that way...her manager also approved using it without charging me extra because she also saw how much trouble both stylists had with my hair... I feel like I will need to wash my hair again very soon so that my scalp is actually clean (which defeats the purpose of a professional blow out that you'd like to last for a few days). Then the blowout itself was a quick 25 minute blowout (I have a lot of hair and long) that looks nice, but doesn't look special or professional. I was glad I brought my own brush because the one that was there looked like it had seen better days. What is the point of going to a salon that specializes in blowouts then? To my surprise, they replied to my texts and it was very easy to set up an appointment. I showed up on a Wednesday evening (around 4pm) and was promptly served. They washed my hair, followed by a haircut, then another wash, then perm, then wash, then another follow up haircut. Needless to say, they were very thorough and they also even provided snacks and water. This was a good experience and I would definitely come back if I'm looking for a korean perm in the area. I've gotten korean perms in the south bay, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Spain, and I would say this was one of the better experiences (albeit, I am also paying bay area pricing).
