This is a long and overdo review. I don't even know where to begin when it comes to recommending how wonderful Lotus Crown is! I have been seeing Linda for over 10 years and followed her from her previous salon. I drive from the East Bay to Saratoga just to go to Lotus Salon. That's how long I've known her and trusted her amazing talent, skills, & staff. Now she owns this salon and I couldn't be more proud and happy for her success. Her staff are all beautiful, service oriented, highly skilled, excellent at customer service, and professional! From the moment you walk in, they have a curated playlist that fits the modern vibe of the salon. They offer you drinks and even wine or champagne! Which is a plus. The salon has a nice, clean vibe, & cozy feel. Right in downtown Saratoga. When I first met Linda, I had some brassy dry hair and needed a new-do and self care. I looked at yelp reviews and wanted to try Linda. She immediately recommended me to go with a darker color and use some hair products to strengthen and get my hair back to a healthier state. I loved the dark new look and how much softer and healthier my hair was. Then 9 months later, I decided to get highlights for the summer. Linda did such an amazing job with my color and highlights. I received so many compliments. Until this day, I alter between having darker low lights during the fall/winter then highlights in the spring/summer seasons. Each time I have an appointment, I trust Linda's expertise on her assessment and care with whatever my hair care needs are. I come out feeling and looking beautiful than when I came in. She uses excellent and quality products too. For some people, it may be pricey, but you get what you pay for when it comes quality work. If you're not satisfied, she will recommend what's best for you and fix it. I love her honesty. I moved about an hour away a few years ago. After searching for a new stylist since then, I decided to make the drive back here to see Vasana so I could do vibrant colors and know it would look amazing. Vasana is an amazing colorist and knows how the chemicals will work with any hair type and has done corrections for me when I've gone to other stylists in years' past and always made it right. She also understands how to work with my thin hair and she's done amazing cuts for other people I know with difficult hair (very thick, very thin or balding, curly, etc.). I absolutely love my new hair! It looks a little raspberry in the photos, but is more purple in person. Vasana also made product recommendations and reminded me of several tips to maintain the color between visits. For those of you in a hurry, Vasana's probably not for you, but she can recommend someone at the salon who can get you in and out and do a good job. She's honest and has made wonderful recommendations for me when needed. I still think she's the best colorist and knows the way I like my hair cut best, but sometimes I need a cut when she's booked and she makes sure I'm taken care of. And when she does my hair, she will take the time to ensure that it's cut and colored perfectly (she thoroughly checks my hair every step along the way and considers all angles.) I also like that Shani works at this salon and is the best at eyebrows! She tweezes, but I actually prefer her method over threading because it doesn't irritate my eye brows (while threading still does) and my brows look perfect every time. This review is LONG overdue, but I just really need to sit down and write an essay about how fantastic my experience with DEBORAH has been! It all started when my old colorist, Long Hong, stopped doing hair. He and Deborah used to both work at Main Street Annex Salon, and I remembered her always being booked out, nearly impossible to get an appointment with (because she's THAT good). As I was contemplating on which colorist to go to, I decided on Deborah because she was familiar with his work, and a master with bleach. I came to Deborah in August 2016, right before my 4 month Europe trip. I wanted an ashy-grey color, which we were able to achieve! Since I had previous color in my hair, we were able to achieve our goal, however, depending on your hair color and how much time is required, some goals might not be able to achieve overnight. I appreciated her attention to detail. She never rushes her process and is extremely meticulous. Your hair is one of the first things that people notice about you, so I loved how every stroke and placement has been thought out and placed for a reason. She is extremely personable, passionate about her work (yay scorpios!), and just a great person to talk to/be around. There's no one else I'd rather laugh with in a chair for four hours. My ashy-grey lob has been one of my favorite hair cuts and colors. During my 4 month Europe trip, traveling to 13 countries and 20+ cities, I was CONSTANTLY stopped and complimented on my hair everywhere I went! Deborah's work is LITERALLY a head turner. Even after 4 months, my color still looked fabulous. She recommended me great products to create my own little "Europe holy grail hair care products", which saved my hair while I was abroad (especially Fanola's no-yellow purple shampoo!) Flash forward to January 2017 - One of the first things I did when I came back from Europe was see Deborah. Although I loved my hair, after a long four months it just needed a little freshening up. I came in, not knowing what I wanted, all I knew was that I wanted something different. We came up with a charcoal ashy grey color, which surpassed all of my expectations! Deborah knew what would look good, I trusted her, she executed it and and totally nailed it!! If you want to STAND OUT, not look BASIC, be different, and still maintain gorgeous healthy hair, you HAVE to go to Deborah, she knows what she's doing and is one of the best in the hair world! This review is really difficult for me to write but I felt it was important to share my experience. I have never colored my hair professionally before, so I was very nervous and did not know what to expect. My friend suggested I go here and I trusted her recommendation. I took time off of work since the Salon is closed on my two days off. My hair is naturally light blonde and at the time I went to the salon is was a little darker blonde. I showed Orang a picture of the hair color I wanted and let him know that I wanted it to be Ash Blonde. Since I do not know anything about coloring, I trusted his recommendations. During the process he and America were very nice to me. They were attentive and were fun to listen to while they joked around with each other. After the foil was taken out of my hair he bleached my roots. At this time, I mentioned to him that my hair looked like spaghetti and he said the damage was normal but that he would cut it when he styled it. Once that process was done I sat back down in the chair and noticed that my hair was a really really light color. I know that hair wet and dry are different and he said it would change when it dried. He trimmed my hair and then America styled it for me. She was really sweet and curled my hair for me. While she was doing this, she did not let me see the mirror for the "big reveal" when she was done. Once she turned me around I couldn't get over how light my hair was, I was in shock. Everyone there kept telling me how good it looked on me though. After I paid ($$$), I went back to work. Once I got back to work and looked in the mirror, I realized that my hair was white. There was hardly any color to it. I freaked out! I immediately pulled my hair into a bun because I was uncomfortable with it. Over the next two days, I tried to get "used" to the lack of color but ultimately, I was so uncomfortable being seen with white hair. I was wearing hats and hoodies outside in 80+ degree weather. I didn't want to go back to work looking like this and I had a huge work meeting this week and a family event the next week. Again, since the Salon is closed on Sundays and Mondays (my only days off) I wasn't able to go in. My hair was also incredibly damaged from the process that was done to it at Salon O but I went to another salon close to my house and they were able to fix it for me. They gave me product that I am able to use every day to get my hair back to being healthy and happy! The reason that this review was hard for me to write is because Orang and America were very sweet to me and treated me well during the process. Unfortunately, I hated everything about my hair afterwards. So much to the point that I didn't want to be seen by anyone. After paying a lot of money for this service, I had to pay almost as much to correct it :( Not the ideal experience for my first time! I reached out to Orang to let him know that I was unhappy and went to another salon to fix it. Instead of him apologizing, he blamed me for being unhappy and kept telling me that his work was perfect and that I was the issue. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. It made me feel terrible. This was a really unfortunate situation because I was not upset with Orang - I was just really unhappy with the out come of my visit. Orang told me that he didn't need me as a client since he already has so many! So rude! read more

I would like to say I desperately needed a haircut after doing my own color during Covid. I didn't even realize how dire until I had my spontaneous appointment with Linda yesterday. Deborah is the worst stylist I've ever went to. Not only that, but ironically she's the most expensive. There were several red flags that I should have listened to to come to my senses and leave the salon before it was too late. (1) On the day of the appointment she said she was running 20 min late. I decided to wait. That wait turned into 1 hour! I should have cancelled and went home and had a good day. (2) For the kind of money I'm paying, I'm expecting you to keep my hair HEALTHY. That means Olaplex! Mix Olaplex with the bleach, wash the hair with Olaplex after bleaching, etc. She used some strengthener that's not Olaplex, but still, she's either cheap on the strengthener or didn't do this because my hair completely BROKE after she bleached it!!! I know how healthy bleached hair feels like because my bleached hair below her bleaching feels silky smooth and her bleaching feels like a old rug. Her response to this hair breakage is "I assure you any breakage you are having is normal to get your hair this light on a touch up one session". And suggested I wait 3 days after my hair coloring. What in the world does waiting 3 days do?? If my hair broke, it BROKE. Waiting it out does NOT help So yes, I waited 3 days and... an endless amount of hair broke off.. The difference between a good stylist and a bad stylist: a good stylist will know or do a strand test to see how light your hair can safely go and the strength of bleach to use WITHOUT breaking. A bad stylist will go as light as you want, EVEN if your hair breaks and say it's because you wanted it that light. (3) NOTE: Deborah charges by the hour. This is why she's so expensive. What does this mean? It means regardless what hair coloring you're getting, if you're getting your hair bleached, it WILL cost $500. Why? Because she bleaches hair in TWO parts (at least for me). That's 3 hours for half my head, 3 hours for the other half my head and BOOM! easy $500 for her. Not saying this is wrong, but it's a guaranteed $500 out of your pocket. (4) It's bad enough that she charges by the hour instead of the actual effort and products she has to use, but to make make me feel worse, she had time to get her hair washed at the salon, blow dry and make it nice, take pictures for her instagram, style other people's hair. I booked an appointment online around Thanksgiving time after I received Vasana as a recommendation through a friend. Online, there's a note section. I wrote as much detail as I could about what I wanted done. I wanted gray all over, so I wanted someone who takes pride in their work & was experienced. I was early, and the desk greeted me quickly. I didn't get an intro, so it didn't seem like Vasana would know I was there. 20 or so minutes later, she walks to the desk and asks "Where's my 10:00?" Vasana knows my name & app't time, but not what I want. She's eager to get to it, but I don't feel as though she listened that well. She immediately starts putting on bleach & doesn't bother to ask about previous dye. I made a point to mention that my hair WAS treated - not virgin. She nods, but I don't see it register. I feel it important to mention that Vasana is the co-owner. I bet she's usually booked & has other duties to attend to. I made such an early app't, because that evening I had a friend's dinner, which I also made a point to mention early on. Actually, throughout my appointment - you'll see why later. I've worked in a salon (reception). I understand that while a stylist has a hair dye app't, they book other clients in-between, while their first client has dye set. That's fine. Vasana mentioned her sister would "drop by" at some point. It was basically an app't. I find that pretty poor form - I personally would want my siblings to have my full attention, and think it might hinder other clients. Vasana didn't have such foresight, and that's exactly what happened. I had two rounds of bleach total. After the first round, everything looked like my roots were pretty light but my ends (that had been dyed -& box dyed at that) didn't take well. Her assistant rinsed me out. Vasana checked on my progress. THEN she asked whether I had it professionally or boxed dyed because of my ends. I told her box & she goes, "Ooooh. Normally I check but your hair looked so natural!" (Like it was a compliment? Well, I said it had been dyed AND left a note: BOX dye!) Second round of bleach. She ups the developer strength, wraps my head & sticks me under the heater. Everything was more or less fine up to this point. I should mention it's about 1:30-2:00, though. It's taking longer than I thought & I don't feel Vasana is giving her attention when needed. Additionally, I haven't eaten. I didn't bring food, as to not be presumptuous. She could have said 2 sessions (but didn't). But she never offered for me to rest/take a break/eat. I sit in silence under the heater for several hours. I lost track of how long. All she did was touch up purple in her sisters' pixie cut & cleaned up her neckline. But it took forever because she was socializing. Her assistant realized that it had been a very long time, and comes to check. I ask how much longer, because I HAD to leave by 6. She estimates 5:00. Okay. The absolute latest I could leave was 6:30 (but I don't give them worst case, because of the pace so far). My hair is fried. You can tell after they rinse me out. They finished up ashing my roots & toning my hair (per the picture I showed). It's about 5:30. Now comes my major point of contention. Her assistants go to dry my hair with a blowdryer, and & want to straighten it. If anyone knows anything about hair, you don't vigorously brush wet hair. It's susceptible, not to mention more frail after bleach. Vasana lets her assistant do this, and she struggled. She doesn't know how to brush and blowdry, and is brushing aggressively She broke off so much of my hair. Vasana also relied on the other assistant to do the other half (which has less damage). But why would assistants take over? She had other appointments. That could have been avoided, if she read the notes! She could have blocked off later, or offered 2 sittings. Instead, I have 2 assistants ripping my hair. It's not until I go home that I see how much shorter one side of my hair is. I leave at 6:30. I have a headache from the pulling. It was so rough, which would have been fine, if I felt Vasana had given her all. Or tried to maintain the length/damage, which I mentioned I was concerned about. I don't let her cut it, because I saw how much of my ends I had lost. She jokes to come back in for it. I smile, but no way. She didn't have pride in her work (letting her assistants do so much) and didn't attend to me as a client like she should have. I mean, yeah my hair went gray. In that regard, she did the job. But that could be simple science. I'm positive my hair would have suffered less damage somewhere else. Even Olaplaex doesn't even help my hair! I followed care instructions and bought the proper shampoos & deep conditioners. My hair didn't fade fast, but it's devastated. I wouldn't recommend her & I will NOT go back to her. She's the co-owner. I can only imagine she's like this with other clients. I almost wish I never went at all & I cant believe I paid for that service. read more

A huge thank you to Orang and Kimber for taking such great care of me. I lost about 75% of my hair after chemo for an auto-immune disease and was in need of some serious help. I hadn't seen the likes my natural color in almost 20 years, and the hair loss left me with (no joke!) a mullet. These two didn't have much to work with, but after 3 Thursday's in a row and a high lift tint, highlights, a cut, a keratin treatment, extensions, and a final cut we finished. Orang and Kimber not only overhauled my hair, but they returned a piece of myself back to me. My stylist, JENNIFER, just moved to this salon and I absolutely LOVE it! The interior design is modern, and open. Jennifer is the best. She really listens to what you are saying, asks questions, gives suggestions, but never pressures you or makes you feel bad for asking for something completely crazy! Since the first haircut, I've left every appointment happy. (I'm totally one of those dramatic cry babies). It's always fun getting my color/cuts with Jennifer and I will continue to see her for all my "natural highlight" troubles! I've only been to Studio [O] once, but I know that I will love it every time. Everybody there seemed friendly and fun. Parking wasn't a problem at 4pm on a Thursday. There's a small parking lot behind the building and you can walk into the salon from the back. If you're looking for a new stylist, try Jennifer! I have been going to Vasana for 11 years. I go every 6( I even went years without seeing her) months due to my busy Mommy life. But when I do go she makes me feel beautiful again.
