Had an absolutely divine experience here! My family and I have been going to the seafood buffet for years when we visit from New York, so glad to see it thriving again with a new name. Chele was our waitress and she was so attentive, kind and overall fabulous! The raw bar was so amazing with unlimited fresh oysters, shrimp and crab. There is a sushi station with poke bowls and the fish was so fresh!! The chefs at each station created special dishes that were out of this world. My family and I will be coming back!!

Should be named Cut and Run. Located in the Snow Park Lodge, this new addition to the Deer Valley high-end culinary scene missed the mark in several areas. It all started with the Vodka Martini that was ordered straight up with olives. Even implementing the archaic Utah law permitting no more than a 1 1/2 ounce pour, it tasted like it had more water than Vodka. After summoning the server back two more times to have the bartender fix the problem, even ordering a different brand of Vodka didn't work. The shishito peppers with black bean aioli was the only highlight in an evening filled with lowlights. The next course was the steakhouse wedge that had good flavor, but was swimming in a deep pool of dressing. The restaurant was far from capacity, yet we waited over 30 mins between the salads and entrees. During the delay, we were able to observe the food runners all come out at the same time in an effort to serve all entrees at once. That would typically be a nice touch, but after they served the table several would just stand around in the middle of the restaurant looking lost and confused about what to do next. Meanwhile, our server removed the soupy remains of the salads, but did not replace one of our forks and failed to bring a knife for one entree. In a restaurant that strives to be known as 5 star and high-end, that small touch is important to get right. The Coup De Grace was the salmon. The description offered by the server should have been a clue to the nightmare that we faced. A bone-in salmon cooked medium rare, said no one ever, until this evening. It arrived sitting in a pool of shimmering oil and had the appearance of a thick pork chop. The concerning appearance was exceeded by the undercooked oily fishy flavor. When we reported our dissatisfaction to the server, and that we would just split the decent chicken entree, he quickly returned to tell us the 'chef was insisting' that he give it another shot. Knowing it was unfixable, we declined. And finally then there are the ridiculously high prices for the entrees and wine. As just a few examples, the slimy salmon dish is $50, an 8 oz. filet is $98, and a 2017 bottle of Silver Oak (that retails for $125) was a stunningly marked up $440. Really ?? The manager did come to the table at the end of the debacle. We provided hopefully constructive feedback and he removed the inedible salmon and an additional 20% off the bill. Even with that, the remaining entree, appetizer, two salads, and the water flavored martinis set us back $170.

We have been in Utah for a week and this is the best food we have had the whole trip. Quality service, very attentive and kind. All of the food we ordered was phenomenal and I highly recommend!!

Our waiter Billy was excellent - attentive, and gave us good guidance (and reassurance) on the menu and what we ordered! I started with the cucumber martini, very refreshing. For food, we ordered the crispy tuna tartare, wagyu bruschetta, chiller special roll, and the 2 hand rolls off the specials menu. I want to go back in time and eat it all again. Everything was excellent, but the chiller roll and wagyu bruschetta were at the top of the list. The wagyu bruschetta was the perfect blend of locally made baguette, tender wagyu beef, and drizzled pork butter. The chiller roll (Billy's favorite) was so unique and in the best way. The combination of everything worked together perfectly - including a sliver of lemon on top! Will be a must-go to spot when we are back in town.

The restaurant is located on Main Street and has plenty of space inside since it's two stories. Trish was an excellent host. She was great to talk to and made the whole visit very special for my cousin. We really appreciate her going above and beyond for our group. The sushi here is great. Very fresh and creative options. A member of our group has a sesame allergy and the staff took great care to ensure she had something good (and safe) to eat. I'll definitely be back the next time we visit Park City. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great sushi and service in PC!

After many years of coming to Park City, our family finally tried the Canyons Western BBQ Buffet at…read moreRed Pine Lodge. Generally, we were underwhelmed and a bit surprised that Talisker has not upgraded the experience. What follows are the details of our experience. The gondola ride up was fun, if not a bit cold ( at a similar setup in Steamboat, nice blankets are provided). When we made the reservation, the seating options were either 6:30p or 7p. The 6:30p was sold out, so we accepted the 7p seating, and were told to appear at the base of the gondola at 6:30p. We arrived promptly at 6:30p, and was told by the gondola operator we needed to wait until 7p to ascend. We cleared that up in a hurry, and the operator allowed us to take the gondola up without delay. If you are familiar with the Red Pine Lodge, it's at mid mountain at the Canyon's. We entered on the main floor, which was very dimly lit, and went up stairs to the BBQ event. We apologized for being a few minutes early, said we would gladly wait for 7p. The greeter fought through a few moments of confusion regarding our seating location, and then we were seated. Seating at this event is in long tables which is typical and our only issue with the seating was that the seats were packed very tightly together, making it difficult to enter or leave your seat if there were other diners on your left and right. Our suggestion to Talisker would be to take out 2-4 seats per long table, and up the price to make up for the lost profit. Getting to the food, its selection and preparation were about on par with similar buffets. The ribs and chicken were good, as was the corn on the cob, salad, corn muffins, baked beans. The prime rib was a bit too rare, especially for younger kids. Desert was a disappointment however: Two tubs of vanilla ice cream, one nearly melted to the degree that it was liquid. The ice cream scooper was left sitting in each tub, with the handle all covered in melted ice cream...yuck! The blueberry cobbler was overly sweet. M and M's were also set out in a bowl and offered as a topping to the ice cream. A diner in line for the self serve deserts ignored the serving spoon and took a big handful of M and M's...we're not the fussy types, but really people, let's use those serving spoons! Needless to say, none of the food was covered by sneeze guards. The staff was polite but rushed, and it struck us they were marginally understaffed. Our question regarding which foods had nuts took at bit too long to get answered, and in general the staff seemed a bit harried. The overall ambiance of the room was fine, and certainly presented a casual, family oriented, country and western atmosphere. The 4 piece band was good and played a nice variety of old and new C & W songs. A big stone fireplace would have added warmth and ambiance, but the room lacks one. A note regarding the bathrooms: They are two levels below the buffet event floor, in the basement of the Red Pine lodge. If the main level of the lodge was dimly lit, the stair way descending to the basement can only be described at barely lit..it seemed one or two light bulbs had burned out. The bathrooms were cold, and not terribly clean. While we weren't expecting the Stein Ericksen Lodge by any means, this was way below the high standards of Talisker. Unfortunately, the entire family came away with the feeling that we'd "check that box" on the Park City experience list, and would not return to the Western BBQ until the overall experience was upgraded. With one beer and two soda's total for the table, the tab for 4 including tax and automatically included gratuity came to $160.00

They're not kidding when they say their lobsters are fresh! Other than the taste, my next favorite thing about their lobster rolls is the quantity. Other than lobster rolls, they also serve soup, salads, crab rolls, etc. I had the lobster bisque, which wasn't bad either. The blueberry bbq chicken salad was fine. To be transparent, this place is not cheap, especially not their lobster rolls. However, they pack it on and the quality is unmatched. I wouldn't say I would dine here every due to the sheer high prices, but whenever I am in town, I always try to stop by my favorite lobster roll place ever! For reheated frozen food and needing to bus your own dishes, I was a little disappointed. Service was friendly! We came right when they opened and paid almost $300 for a meal for 6 people. The clam chowder (5/5) was flavorful and well-salted, and chockful of potatoes and meat. The bisque (3/5) was not nearly as flavorful or delicious-- it needed way more salt and creaminess. We each had either a lobster roll or lobster sliders as our main entree, but those were just pretty average lobster rolls. I think they could've been more buttery and salty. The salad that we got was really good! Overall, would not come back but happy to at least try Freshie's.
