"After learning that Castaway Cafe was under new ownership we decided to give it another go. The previous owners never cleaned the place and my kids always seem to get sick after we went. I had high hopes that the new owners had better hygiene practices. I was wrong. Not only was the place beyond crowded (although, on a Saturday I guess that is to be expected), but my 3 year old contracted HAND FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE!!!! She is not in preschool OR daycare, and she got sick less than a week after going there (the incubation period is 3-5 days for HFMD). Now, my 11 month baby has it and my 2 nephews also caught it. I am just LIVID!!! My hubby and I are semi-germaphobes and so we are religious about the kids using hand sanitizer whenever we visit places like that, but you can't stop them if they touch something in the structure and then touch their mouths/nose/eyes. The new owners claim they wipe down the whole structure like very hour. We were there for over two hours and I NEVER saw anyone wipe it down. And the amount of kids we saw on that play structure was ridiculous!! WAY too many kids, IMO. Save time and gas and money and avoid this place!! Take your kids to McDonalds playland in Brighton. We used to love coming here back in late 2017... it was so much fun, and progressively has gotten worse and worse. Why, you ask? LET ME TELL YOU! The prices are insane!! 3.00 for a juice?!! The customer service has become absolutely garbage. My child found a used bandaid stuck to him in the bounce house, obviously they aren't cleaned you can SEE the dirt on top of them. You can't tell who works there, no one ever has distinguishing attire.. I asked to speak to a manager and a very unkempt young woman with long brown hair comes out, with absolutely zero common sense about her position kept agreeing with me rather than responding... she then grabbed a man with greasy hair and he completely dismissed every complaint I had, and then turned to a teenaged looking girl and started berating them to clean tables in front of me. SERIOUSLY??? Your that pathetic in your life you have to cut down others, especially young women? DISGUSTING!! I don't know if the owners have changed this past year...... or what has happened but I'm incredibly disappointed, disrespected, and honestly I would rather pay TRIPLE for Skyzone or drive an hour to Rev'd Up. we went on a sunday afternoon there werent to many people there and theres a LOT to do there couches are soft its like being at home kinda and the staff was super nice. the food was good too I like how other people there were nice too. the arcade was fun me and my husband played the connect 4 lol there doing some renovations right now so it was a bit dusty. but other than that the place was pretty clean. well as u can expect hahaha with so many little hands touching everything. was cheap too we spent a good part of the day there and only spent i think 40 bucks? thats admitions food drinks games they got toys idk was pretty cheap i thought for how much fun it was. i think im going to do my daughter birthday there, but i dont think it would have been nice to go on a saturday. that just screams way to many kids sunday was perfect. FYI if u got older kids and dont think what day u go matters but if u got little ones like i do smaller crowds on less busy days are much better, but thats anywhere mcdonalds even has that problem... read more

I came here with friends for the first time over a year ago when their laser tag first opened. We absolutely loved it the staff was nice and courteous. We love laser tag and have actually played at many different places across the area including a bunch of zap zones and this place was the best. They allowed and even encouraged us to try their different game types. They didn't make us keep playing standard team games over and over. They let us play games like oddball, protect the president, VIP, skill shot, and something they called "The Game". I couldn't have been any happier with that first experience that i had while i was here and so i became a repeat customer. I come there with friends quite often to play laser tag and and i plan to keep coming back to Castaway Play Cafe to play laser tag instead of going other places. Plus i hear they are getting new equipment soon, which is awesome cause the laser tag equipment that they have now is already top of the line. read more

It's always interesting to read these. I feel most rate places on a static scale, usually comparing to a high end 5 star resort. This place is great. We went on a Wednesday around noon, it was busy but not packed at all. It was getting busier as we left around 1:30. The equipment was in good shape. Not great, there were rips in a lot of the padding and some of the climbing rubber was falling off inside the structure. But when there are kids all over it, all day, the stuff is going to ware.. it's to be expected. Place had a nice little grill with the usual menu of pizza, sandwiches and fried offerings. The staff were all very friendly. $11 for two kids to come play on all that stuff as long as they wanted was a bargain. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area. read more

As a dad with two young kids, Castaway Play is an excellent place for the kids to let off steam. It's the kids that matter here...if they are enjoying the place then so be it for all the other negative reviews. I've been to similar locales in the UK and in India and Castaway is the best one I've been too. I like the free Internet for checking work emails, the food is to be as expected - the kids love it. There's plenty of sitting space but get their early if you want to get a comfy sofa. Otherwise, watch out for wet spots from spilt drinks. Overall, it's a decent place... read more

Was here for 2 hours place was so dirty and didn't see a single employee wash a table or chair floor or bathroom in the 2 hours THEN a mouse ran across the bounce house floor!!!! I alerted the manager who said they have a problem and have put out mouse traps bit it will take time to resolve. BS!!!! Close your establishment until pest control resolves you serve food and have infants touching every surface just not safe put your customers health first. The staff here is pretty rude. If its summer time make sure to pack socks or you'll be overcharged buying a pair! The place is fun for kids but VERY over crowded so therefore a little dirty. It can be a fun place to go but with 3 kids you won't pay less then $40. Don't bother mentioning the Facebook ad because they dont accept it anyways. read more

Overall, its a good place for an afternoon when kids need a good outlet. It's not as clean as say chuck e cheese but its a play structure facility...so its gonna attract less of a clean environment. I have come here a few times now and each time they seem to be trying to improve the facility and add more attractions. So thats a plus! read more

The place was disgustin. Food is overpriced. They charge for adults. Took way too long to get in. Management is rude. Its has some good and bad. They raised their prices. Old games. everything is a bit "dingy" lets say. But it has a huge play structure and some bouncy type slides. I have a 4 and 3 yr old. They love it. Lots of couches to relax on while your kids are safe and using up their energy. read more

This is a bigger version of play areas found at McDonalds. There are limited food and drink items for sale at premium prices. My grandchildren got bored after about an hour. Loud, with limited seating, this should be a last resort to keep the kids busy on rainy days. read more

First, they give a lot to the community. Our school has fundraisers there and we made $300 in one night! The pizza of really good and I have seen people order it for takeout. Both of my girls (5 & 10) have a great time when we go! read more
