I got the breakfast burrito and usually at Mexicans restaurants breakfast burritos are full of flavor but honestly breakfast was extremely mid. didn't really have much flavor and the salsas aren't that good that come with it. One of the pieces of meat was completely fat and I had to spit it out. Overall though it gets you by if you're hungry but would've just preferred getting something else. Uber Eats delivery order: Breakfast: Delivery service is great. Uber eats is growing on me. The food itself was less than ok. We ordered the breakfast burrito (as the menu doesn't list specifics) we noted no meat and would like it wet. It arrived quickly and we opened I it and there was meat. and it was not wet. Now, we don't like wasting food. I ate half and my husband ate most of it. The steak was ok, the salsa made the burrito a bit more flavorful. For the price, this is not ok. Discovered Castillo when just out for a drive to find lunch and upon approaching Reseda Blvd., saw this place. It's delicious. Everything is homemade and tastes great. The people are super friendly. I've had burritos, combos (tacos, enchiladas) and sodas. You really can't order wrong here. The rice and refried beans are tasty. They usually have Spanish language programming on the TV. This is a small family owed restaurant is a gem tucked away in the corner, signs aren't quite visible and decor is outdated. But when you try their food, you can taste the love they put into it. Went in to order som tacos and the young lady at the counter rolled her eyes at me twice while ordering . She probably couldn't hear me which was fine but she seemed like she was in a bad mood. She then told the took to go talk to me instead of her trying to communicate with me .She was very rude to me and made me feel uncomfortable. After the cook talked to me and told me they didn't have that meat I wanted . He then stated to go to El Indio down the street . So far, I have had their huevos rancheros and chicken enchilada & beef taco plates. They are authentic and delicious but their chunky salsa is to die for! The staff is very nice and attentive. Placed a phone order for pickup. The employee I spoke with was very friendly and quoted 15 min. Food was ready upon arrival. Yay! Here's what I ordered: Huevos Rancheros: 3/5 Decent flavor, cooked well, but nothing special. Carnitas Wet Burrito: 1/5 The sauce that the burrito was smothered in had great flavor, but the meat inside was super inedible. I'm sure it would taste better with a different meat, but the carnitas were extremely dry (like beef jerky dry) and had a weird flavor that just ruined the entire burrito. Took one bite and I was done. :( Shredded Chicken Burrito: 5/5 Very moist, delicious chicken and they put in a good portion too!. This burrito was delicious and I would definitely order it again... ...and of course, I had a refreshing horchata to wash this all down :D Although portions are big and plentiful, dishes are a real hit or miss. Well, I literally live right down the street and also went to Cleveland High School, also conveniently located down the street, and go here at least monthly. I love, love, love Mexican food and I'm very sensitive to people who throw around "Authentic Mexican food," like nothing. This is genuinely a hole-in-the-wall place yet sanitary. The prices are more than reasonable for more food than you can possibly handle in one sitting. I personally always order either the chicken burrito wet, veggie burrito wet, or the nachos with chicken. Getting it wet means the burrito has Ranchero sauce poured over it and let me tell you, no one else has a better flavor than theirs. I've been to Los Torros, SeaCasa and Don Cuco's and I can't stand how sweet their sauce is. Give Castillos a try and you won't regret it! read more

As Anthony Bourdain once observed, the true gems among Los Angeles eateries are those hidden treasures to be found in strip malls. It's so easy to drive right on by this place. I only discovered it for myself when I had to stop at the nearby 7-11. I am so glad that I have it a chance. I eat so much during each visit hat I can barely move when it's time to leave. My personal favorite is an a la carte order of flautas with a side of enchilada sauce and a coke bottled in Mexico. So wonderful. The owner is always very friendly and makes my wife and I feel welcome. Castillo's is so accommodating that they even do local delivery. I encourage everyone to drop by and have a meal. One of my favorite places to get Mexican food in the Valley. The workers are always friendly and adorable. I love going here when it's not too crowded. If you want to eat here, try to come before 3 on weekdays. The local school (Cleveland) lets out around then and the restaurant easily fills up with customers. When it's not too crowded, the workers will usually come and bring the food to your table. They do deliver locally, but there is a $12 minimum fee, I believe. I've tried a few things on their menu, but it always comes down to a wet carne asada burrito or carne asada nachos. Both are super good. Their ranchero sauce that they put on their nachos are to die for! Their portions are also really good and fair for their price. Don't be surprised if you can't finish your meal! They also give complimentary chips with your burritos. This is a lovely neighborhood joint. I find myself craving Castillos every once in a while. Oh, good lord. I knew that I would inevitably make a Yelp account, but I never knew which place it would be for. I, like many other fans of Castillo, discovered this tiny place through Cleveland High School. It was funny - my friends and I were super hungry, and we decided to call in for carne asada nachos and burritos. We were picking it up (they're always happy to deliver if you're in the area) and the delivery guy greeted the security guard by name! Aha, perhaps one of the greatest moments of my life. The burritos are super huge but the best are the carne asada nachos. Carne asada goodness, with melted cheese, tons of guacamole and sour cream, beans, the occasional vegetable...oh, and you can't forget the extra paper bag of crunchy corn chips to go with the chips already filled with goodness. Split it with a friend - they're a lot to handle. Oh, and I nearly forgot! Stop in after school and you'll see the classic, stereotypical high school crowd - cheerleaders, class presidents, gamers...Castillo is to Cleveland as The Dairi Burger was to Sweet Valley High. read more

If you want some bomb ass Mexican food this is not the place to go. They don't have a good selection of meat so if you want tacos de cabeza it ain't there. Was craving a quesadilla and I ordered a carne asada quesadilla from here...Soo delicious...piping hot and fresh...flavor explosion.... definitely recommend that dish... I never experienced the food here because i was trying to place an order and the person who answered the phone was rude. When I try new spots, first impression is everything to me. That being said, I saw this place on my way home and wanted to try it. I called and spoke to a young man and asked him about the burrito and what it contained inside. His reply? "are you ready because i have people here". Then when I started to ask another question, he cut me off and told me to hang on. I thought we were discussing my order but if that's the way they answer the phone, then my buck stops there. This place needs training on Customer Service and learning how to handle a fast paced environment. It was clear the young man who answered was overwhelmed with customers on the phone and customers in his lobby. If that's how I'm treated over the phone, imagine how my food is being handled. Based on yelp reviews decided to try this spot. I got the Asada Burrito w/o beans, Hubs got the Asada burrito w everything. Ordered two medium drinks, chips and salsa for around $15.
