    Ecuadorian platter

Amazing local Ecuadorian spot with cheap and very authentic food. I got the platter special, which included a potato cake, pulled pork, tripe and potato stew and shrimp ceviche. It was a very big portion for one person and so flavorful!

I've been here several times and had many items from their menu, they are absolutely delicious! My favorite dishes are Caldo de Salchichas and Arroz Marinero and my boyfriend never gets enough of their Pescado Frito. The service is very good, though the servers probably only speak Spanish, my Spanish finally got good enough so I don't panic when they speak to me ;) You can also choose your sides with some of the dishes. My boyfriend and I always choose rice and beans, but you have the option to have fries(papas fritas) too, just ask! I also ordered take out here, but it's hit or miss, so I learned to eat in only.

Left Roosevelt, Queens-where there are long strips of Ecuadorian restaurants- in search of better Ecuadorian food and I found it here in Castillo Restaurant. Great portions, good seasoning, fair prices, and modern/homie ambience feel.

Everybody knows each other and if you're going there for dinner, they definitely know you're not local. Now that being said, the food was delicious. I had the bone marrow that was spot on. I had the ribeye steak best underrated steak in the world. It was delicious. My partner he had the fillet mignon I asked for 14 ounces didn't have one so he had two 7 ounces again great Realistically, it's a nice place to get a good steak and a good meal and the food was good. It wasn't a 10 out of 10, but it was damn good. I gave this place a five star because there was a 4.5 star you're going there for the food. Everything is moderately priced dinner for two with date and a drink will cost you roughly $250 with tip but you can't go wrong and that's with dessert and all the good things to go with it. They had a decent scotch selection and since I didn't really take that many photos because I was having too much fun with the locals that I forgot to take photos Just a good place with good people and good food what more could you ask for I'm in Brooklyn for Christ sake and the food was delicious. Thanks for not disappointing.

We had made reservations for the kitchen counter seats. Thinking we would be able to watch the masters at work. However, the seating is too low and you cannot see into the kitchen. So there's that. The service was really lovely. Constantly checking in for more water or if we needed anything. We started off with their Mezcal cocktail, which my husband loved. And I had a flight of sake. I wasn't in love with any of them. But they were all palatable. We shared the Shishido peppers which were absolutely amazing. Highly recommended. We asked for some soy sauce on the side and find that an occasional dip of the pepper really brings out the flavor. We also shared the Wagyu Tataki. The presentation is lovely as it is for all the dishes. However, I found it slightly chewy. But the accompaniments were outstanding. We also shared a 14 ounce 30 day dry aged New York strip. Presented beautifully. Cooked perfectly medium rare. Accompaniments and sauces. Also terrific. However, we did not find that the steak had any actual flavor. But it was smooth and easy to chew. The espresso machine was broken, bummer. But we had a pot of tea and their warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Delicious.

For context this is my first time visiting fogo de chao but not my first time having Brazilian food/bbq. The vibe of the restaurant is kind of upscale casual. Looks nice and fancy inside but the overall ambiance is very inviting and casual. The food was all good-- no complaints about the meats nor the salad bar-- I left stuffed. Was there celebrating a friends birthday and we went with the best of Brazil experience ($54 a person, limited but still very extensive options for meats) Honestly was a lovely experience where you can try many different things and have a bit of everything! For me the reason I give this location 5 stars is because of the service. The manager was serving our table and she was an absolute ANGEL. Great personality hard working, and for my friends birthday she gave the complimentary dessert but gave an EXTRA one to me for no charged--- very thoughtful and she was full of personality too. The people serving meats were also all very kind and cracked jokes here and there . I would definitely go again and highly recommend trying the experience. Sadly I didn't take pictures of the meats or salad bar.. here's the cakes we got!

When she finally saw us waiting, with several other parties, her face was unwelcoming. The waitress we had, took a while to take our drink orders, never saw her again after she served us our drinks. When we wanted our bill, she was nowhere to be found. The cuts of meat were fresh and great. Some overly salted and some too dry. The buffet bar could have more fruits, maybe melon to go with the charcuterie but that's my personal preference.

This is not the city for Mexican food, I do not care who tries to sway me. It simply. Does not. Work. The trend continues at this tiny cantina in Dyker Heights. I paid $40 for mediocrity, maybe even a step or two below it. The staff is friendly and cute, and speaking Spanish will get you further, but the food drops off significantly after the promising chips and dip. When I ordered the Queso Fundido, I was looking forward to a sharp Mexican blend with ground chorizo and some extra chips to boot. Instead I got what looked like blended Oaxaca cheese, an onion top, and some very unattractive bits of chorizo that were begging me not to eat them. So I did not. I ate the cheese because the cheese was pleasant, but the fact it comes with flour tortillas does not help its cause. When I ordered the Tortilla Soup, I was hoping for a nice blend of Mexican spices, shredded chicken, avocado, and tortilla strips. While I did get that, I also got bland flavors and a lack of any personality with the soup. In fact, it had a weird, milky, creamy broth that made me feel uncomfortable about finishing it. So I did not. When I ordered the fish tacos, I was expecting a nice piece of fresh fish, plenty of spicy pico, and an aoli to round out the whole thing. The breading for the fish is a tempura breading (bad call), and the fish they use is tilapia (an even worse call). I understand that this is not San Diego, but these two pieces of fish were practically begging me to put them out of their misery so I could send them packing for the Golden State at a later time. I duly complied. As I walked out I continued to wonder. Will this city ever get it right with a cuisine I hold close to my heart? Because right now, the future is looking bleak. At least my food was spared from further torture.

We went around Christmas and it was decorated inside. The restaurant was packed. Every single table was full. Everyone was having the best time. The veal Parm was one of the best I've ever had. The caramel cake at the end was truly beyond. I can't recommend this experience enough. The interior looks like a classic Italian restaurant and service is very formal. It was quite busy for a weekday night. There's valet parking so you don't have to stress about finding street parking nearby. We ordered fried calamari, baked clams, baked vodka penne, and the Fisherman's Platter. We were served bread and some antipasto to start. The calamari was a classic and I loved the sauce -- it had a good spicy kick to it. The baked clams were okay. The Fisherman's Platter is a must and good value with its generous portion of seafood. It can definitely be shared amongst two people. The baked vodka penne was also good but portion was on the smaller side. I would say Michael's is a must try at least once.
