This place was ridiculously busy on a friday afternoon. I get that they can't control the crowds but that's not why my review is 2 stars. When we walked in, there was a huge line outside to pay for mini golf. When we got closer we discovered only one young guy working the counter. Then while we waited, my niece wanted popcorn so i left my fiance in line and went and stood for yet another! ridiculous line inside. Again, only a young man working the counter. He delivered great customer service and you could see he was going as fast as he possibly could. Management might not be able to control how many people come but they should do a better job of staffing the place. Especially when you know its a friday afternoon during spring break week. I also hope those two employees are fairly compensated, because by the looks of it, they were going above what seemed would be a normal job task. The course itself was fine. There was an offer to enter the park for $13. We decided to use it and arrived at the park at 2pm on a Saturday. Parking was a breeze and cost $10. The park itself it very small. It has a variety of carnival rides and games, a small waterpark, an arcade, and a miniature golf course. The food was standard and the games were typical. So why the 5 stars? 1. It was really easy to find the location - it's right off the 91. 2. Parking was a breeze. 3. Admission is cheap. 4. It was not crowded and the lines were short. 5. The arcade has some very addictive claw games. We spent more in the arcade than admission and food combined. But most importantly, I had dropped my driver's license and credit card in the park. Security found it and kept it for me until I returned. The staff handled the stressful situation very well. If I lived within 15 minutes of the park, I would definitely buy a pass. Tip: Go after 6pm when the weather is cooler. read more

Went there today for the $10.99 roller coaster day special. It wasn't extremely overcrowded. We went to buccaneer cove which is just a kids playground with water but my 6 year old enjoyed it. We had dinner at the Big Al's BBQ place. They were extremely short staffed and we ordered ribs and the told us it would be about 20 minutes because they had to make a new batch. We ordered at 6:08 and didn't get our ribs until 7:08. The worst part about it was there were maybe 15 other guests in the entire restaurant area. The $14.99 rib plate was pretty good after an hour wait. They had great Mexican corn but the $6.99 price was a little steep. Overall, food was pretty decent for an amusement park. The rides had pretty short lines. We didn't wait longer than 10 minutes for any ride. Quite a few of the bigger rides like fireball, scrambler, and one of the roller coasters were shut down which was a bummer. Totally agree with all the reviews... It was SO much better in the 90s!! The rides that I loved are either gone, not operating or look so sketch that I didn't dare ride. The whole park from rides to food are so inefficiently run with lines from 30 minutes to an hour to get anything done. For nostalgia sake, it was a nice walk down memory lane but I think seeing the park from the freeway will be enough for me in the future. We went last night. It was a mess! No enforcement of mask or social distancing . An employee stood by us in line and the people behind us didn't even care to social distance . She didnt encourage or enforce any social distancing. A couple in front of us took off their masks to make out . Large groups of teenagers 20 roaming around yelling with masks off . Only one sink working in womens bathroom . Bathrooms were gross and not cleaned . One toilet full of blood. No seat covers . We got there at 8:00 for 8:30 tickets and were told to go to the maze the courses were packed.didnt get on the course till 9:30! Random people on the course without masks walking up to any holes. No sanitizing stations on courses. I saw one security guard all night . One employee working by the heavily congested area by tracks and bathroom . We did not feel safe here at all read more

Took my kids to Castle Park last weekend and was a little disappointed. The maintenance on the upkeep is lacking. The staff however was great. The staff member that stands out the most was Kyle. He was operating one of the rides. This guy was smiling and interacting with all of the people. He sincerely looked as if he enjoyed his job even in the heat! Employees like him make your Park memorable and it absolutely helped in my rating. Nice job Castle Park on getting and retaining fantastic employees like Kyle. Please work on the upkeep. The golf course is embarrassing. This place was such a big part of my childhood, it is sad to see it so run down. read more

Made the trip to check this place out, since we wanted to take the kids somewhere they hadn't seen before. Some of the good was that my kids were able to get on (almost) everything they wanted to. Downside, they are little daredevils and like thrillers, which there isn't much of here. There are a few rides that do give you the butterflies but I would recommend this place for kids 8 and younger. The waterpark section was fun, but very crowded on the weekend. They have three small water slides and the kids enjoyed that- don't forget your bathing suit because you can only use the water slides if you have swimwear. They could really use more shaded areas in the water park. Three of the biggest rides were not working so that was a big bummer because they were the ones we were looking forward to the most. Overall it was a day well spent. The staff was super nice and friendly. Good place for young children. read more

The only reason it gets three stars is because I want to go back when the rides are open (currently set for April 9). We bought tickets for Springfest, which included a visit with the Easter Bunny, Easter "photo ops," of which we only saw three, an Easter egg per person filled with a ticket for a sweet or savory box from the cafe, and a ticket for a ride or a game (only the train was running, so we used ours for the games). In fact, they still had leprechauns up from St. Paddy's Day when we were there. Miniature golf is included, too, but we only made it to the 7th hole before my 4 1/2 year old got bored. The one really cool thing about the miniature golf is that there are 4 courses and your ticket is good for unlimited rounds. The savory box from the cafe came with "loaded mac 'n cheese" (regular mac 'n cheese with bacon crumbled on top), hash browns with melted mozzarella and pepperoni on top, and a Hawaiian role (nothing on it). The sweet box came with deep-fried oreos with chocolate drizzle and churros with some sort of what I suppose was strawberry reduction, but tasted more like Pedialyte. There was no chocolate drizzle. I ended up throwing two of the churros away, as my son didn't like them, and I didn't want to end up toting them around in the 85-degree heat. I'll definitely give this place a follow-up (hopefully more positive) review when we go back in April. read more

Castle Park is a nice local amusement park. I am a sucker for bargains, so when I saw that they had a 2 for $20 deal on their Facebook page, I immediately jumped on it, and so did 300 others! It covered admission, unlimited rides + the new mini water park (seasonal) they recently added to the park. Normally the price is $24.99 per person. Can't recall the price for kids cause I have never paid full price for this place, but they now have this offer that when you pay the full admission price - you get to come back 3 months for free. They also have other specials on their website ($13 on Friday after 5pm for admission & rides at the time of this writing). This is not the first time I get a good deal at Castle Park... I came here before with a sweet $5.99 per person (website deal) for entrance + unlimited rides back in January of this year. That was the best deal ever!!! I don't agree with them charging $6 for parking though. Scandia Amusement Park in Ontario has free parking all day long, so why charge for parking here? PROS: 1. There's not much of a wait for rides. Sometimes you can go on them over and over within minutes. 2. They have plenty of rides for toddlers and younger kids (5 and under). 3. They have some neat rides - the log ride is great! And it has a steep fall - prepare to get soaked on this one! I usually bring a mini blanket to put over my head on the way down. Then again, it's not like they flash a photo on the way down (like the way they do at Disneyland). The good thing is that my kid and my blanket are the only ones that end up soaked! I also like the tilt-a-wheel, spinning swings, blaster, bumper cars, sea dragon swing (I always ride on the tip/end for maximum enjoyment!), etc. My kid loves the fireball (roller coaster that goes in a circle, log ride (of course!), Dragon's Tower (goes up and down fast), swings, yellow/blue roller coaster, spider ride that spins while going up and down, and that AWFUL spinning spaceship ride that will have you stick to the wall ~ I nearly vomited my heart out on this one after this ride was over (when I was a teen). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CONS: 1. There are 2 major rides that have been closed FOREVER ~ the screamin' demon and the Falling Star. Those are 2 of the best rides in the entire park. In fact, the screamin' demon was closed for repair since last January 7 when I last came here. By the way, the screamin' demon is a spinning roller coaster ride. The Falling star has been closed indefinitely since January also. The park employees simply state that these rides are in need of repair. Well, how long does it take to repair a ride ~ 6 months?? A year?? Come on!!! I understand that there are safety reasons behind this, but this is why they have to offer substantial discounts to attract people to the park!! Otherwise, who wants to go to a park in which you are missing out on the same rides every time you go? 2. They seem to be understaffed. They rotate employees to different areas/rides, often closing rides for 30 minutes or more at a time. By the time we go to other rides and then come back, the same ride will be closed once again! Needless to say, we missed out on one of the rides due to that. 3. Sometimes a ride will break down. For example, we were in line for the log ride and all of a sudden the log ride stopped working. The attendant told everybody to return in 20-30 minutes while they called out a mechanic. When we got on the log ride back in January - our ride stopped abruptly while going on the long and steep ride up leading to the big drop... My son got scared on that one because we ended up in a weird position, but that worked out in the end - phew!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As for the water park, they opened this a few months ago. It is best for those under 10, but you will see teenagers there who act like 2 year-olds. They will allow full-size adults on the main slides (red & blue ones), and there is also a smaller green slide for younger kids and double yellow slides for toddlers. I plan to bring my 2 year old daughter next time (I only brought my son for now). The water park is only $6 per person during the week. I cannot rate the mini-golf or the arcade area because I have not used those. Castle Park should FINALLY get those 2 rides fixed for good (screamin' demon and Falling Star, considering that this is not Disneyland where they have tons of other rides to make up for the closed ones. We'll still be back... I'm just hoping that they will do the improvements needed real soon!!!!!!!! read more

Castle Park has come a long way from the years I have gone there as a kid to enjoy the rides. I thought it was a mini amusement park full of adventure back then, but now I just see it as a very disappointing theme park that rips off the customers that go there. I came with a bunch of students who were excited to spend a fun day at the amusement park. But once inside, everything had yet to open. We had no choice but to go into the arcade, where they only had one person handling the games and the ticket counter. The ticket machine would keep breaking, the games would run out of tickets, coins wouldn't be refunded ... and there was nobody to help fix these problems. And the rides ... you would expect most rides to be open if there are a lot of customers at the theme park, right? Nope, most of the rides were closed or down for maintenance. Sometimes workers had to close down one ride in order to open another. A bunch of people lined up for the log ride only to find out it was closed because it had broken down ... and because nobody informed them that it was closed, they waited for an additional 15 minutes before they had to ASK an attendant what was happening. NOT because an attendant took the time to fill them in. The food, the drinks ... everything is overpriced. A slushie at the arcade was almost $10. But because it was so hot, I was tempted to buy it. They only have ONE water fountain throughout the whole park - that's their reason when the kids asked to get a cup of water and they were told that it would cost $0.43 because they did have a free water fountain. I guess it's not too bad seeing as how the price to ride the rides is $9.99. But everything seems so SLOW here that I feel like this park is slowly deteriorating. read more

I'm here today for my niece's birthday and we're not exactly happy. The park is clearly understaffed and my irritation is slowly growing. We got here early and went to play games in the arcade waiting for the rides to open. Half the games were not working and two out of the few games we did try to play ate our money. We decided to leave the arcade and go on some rides. As we walked around, majority of the rides had no attendants. Shouldn't the workers arrive before they open the park up to the public?? Moving on....Now we're hungry...we wait in a half hour line for pizza hut, granted there's more people now so it's a bit more understandable. I'll give credit to the fries and nuggets; they were good. But thereafter we were still thirsty so we thought we'd save sometime and stand in the icee line instead. We stand in that line for forty five minutes! We learn that there's only one lady working the both and With three customers ahead of us we hear they ran out of cherry. When it hits our turn, the machine breaks down and they close the stand. Hot. Sweaty. And thirsty .... we are heading into buccaneers cove now. I got here about 8. Paid $10 for parking, $10 just for general admission and paid for my daughter and her friend to get in. Literally more than half the rides were closed. It's an amusement park.. pretty terrible to go to a ride park with literally maybe 10 rides Also, would like to add the few rides that were open were shutting down 20-30 min early. Super disappointed.. I did speak to the supervisor on duty and she apologized and gave us free admission for next visit and explained it was off season. Thank you Ayerim. I love Castle Park before COVID. Now that COVID hits and we have to follow all the guidelines Castle Park doesn't really do a good job at that. I went yesterday for the Happy Hauntings and it was really packed, no one was social distancing, some but not all were wearing masks and the Carnevial Skill Games were really bad for being $19.99 each person. If you won a small prize there is only one prize they don't give you different options it's just one. The Terror Trail Walkthrough was very foggy, like too much of the fog. The snack voucher was alright, I got the hot dog and a drink but that didn't really fill me up and I ate and drank all of it and it still didn't fill me up. Golfing, was great. I had lots of fun golfing, I'm just not sure if they sanitize the equipment before hand. read more

Fun for the money. It's got some flaws, but it's a lot cheaper than Disneyland. The owners could definitely reinvest in their business a bit. Purchased the 15.99 rides and mini golf combo. Only 2/4 golf courses were open. Carpet was ripped on some holes and some trash along the course.(no trash cans) Most of the rides are for kids and teenagers. We went on a really hot day. We've been to many mini golf places and we decided that we would like to try out this place. Once we arrived, we actually had to pay for parking. My boyfriend got the tickets and it was like $20 for mini golf. Once we stepped inside, it was like pretty much almost dead. Just like it came out of that creepy article on abandoned theme parks. They had a few rides there, but there was hardly anyone. So the mini golf courses. There's like 4 courses. We decided to choose the 3rd one. Sure the decor was nice, there were buildings like mini temples and ponds. But what I realized was that, they served no purpose. Usually the holes would be placed where the bulidings were so we would try to have to aim the ball so it doesn't get trapped by the door or something. But here, there was no challenge. We were just walking up and down stairs just to hit balls on green hills. Also, there were a lot of those exotic bugs flying around like dragonflies and beetles. Apparently, this golf course attracts these things. I don't think I'd come back here. I've been to better golf courses. read more

I've been to mini golf at castle park a few times, but I've never played on course 1, which is considered the hardest. It was fun and it looks awesome lit up at night. 4 full and unique courses. It took us about an hour to get through. One hole was down for repairs, and water features were empty, but we still had an awesome time! read more

This place is fun for both adults and kids. My kids are in an age category where they can still enjoy kiddie rides, but, also enjoy the adult rides. It's a cheap way to get away for the day. Went to play miniature golf with a friend. Grew up in Riverside near the Castle, and wanted to check it out. Had to pay to enter the park. Couldn't enter through the castle anymore (even though they let you park near it), the doors are blocked off. Only entry was near the big top. Lots of things broken on the miniature golf course. As the sun set, there were some sections of the course that were so dark, you really couldn't play on them. I wanted to have a simple night of miniature golf. Castle Park isn't simple. read more

The mini golf is pretty legit here, not the best maintained one but they have like 4 x 18 holes which is pretty good (72 holes!). Two things I wished I learned before hand is that it's cheaper if you buy it online on their site and that applies to both the mini golf course and the parking! Would have preferred to not have to pay for parking but it is what it is. If I'm ever in the area and need something fun to do, I'd definitely consider the mini golf courses they offer here. read more

This place is great for my 4 year old! We can enjoy the park all day and in the later time do some miniature golfing. Season pass is definitely convenient for us and I love that it includes parking and ranging waters (from what I read). So far everyone seems to be nice besides a Time that I called and got hung up on by a teen boy who was frustrated with answering my question, I called back and they placed me on hold until the line hung up. read more

This place was really cool, my kids had a blast. I would definitely like to come back during cooler weather. Service- 50/50 staff are almost all teens. Some have the worst attitudes and are busy playing around in the back of the food areas, others are really nice. The young men were almost all delightful. The girl working one of the food stands was really nasty and didn't want to answer any questions & barked at us. The food- Not too overpriced. They had really good deals compared to most amusement parks. The quality was 50/50. We got Al's bbq, the ribs were good. The bbq chicken was super dry, almost like beef jerky. Cole slaw & beans were basic, tasted fine. What was really disgusting was the macaroni they served us. It looked nasty and old, it had zero flavor. We could not eat it. The kids inside didn't bother to tell us we had to come inside the circus room to eat, since the place also has windows outside that remain closed. Parking- $10 not too bad Rides- Loved how they had rides for all ages, but some looked really run down and sketchy. Water area- Fun, went on a weekday. There were enough seats. No changing areas/rooms, or bathrooms in the area. Tiny, only a few slides and mostly shooting water. The water leaves you smelling like a wet dog all day. No towels offered. I am 37 years old now, and I have been going to castle park since i was a little girl. I have the fondest memories of this place. And I am excited to announce, that in the last year they have put thousands of dollars, probably hundreds of thousands of dollars in upgrades! First off the arcade castle was falling apart. They replaced every single arcade game! And fixed the ones that were worth fixing. NOW its just like Dave and Busters! It's so rad. They all work and they have all the same ones as them, and now you get a card instead of dealing with coins and tickets. There was even a super nice employee lady with short hair by the new machines that you buy the arcade card, who helped me through the whole process. There is now a coffee bar in the arcade, but no vegan options, I'll put that suggestion in to get the vegan creamer. All the little gift shops are open now, tons of employees helping people, answering questions. The Castle Dark this year, was off the hook! Scary and fun, with better costumes, and better prizes and everything was amazing and perfect! Good Job Castle Park! Thank you for upgrading your whole castle and bringing me back to the good ole days in the 80's when I was a kid. I take my 16 year old nephew here, and we have so much fun. And almost all your rides will fit full grown big adults. I especially love the ghost blasters in the arcade. Fun fun fun. Keep up the good work and the upgrades. This place is just ok. Half of the good rides are always not working. I've gone twice a year for a couple of years now and the ride repair situation isn't fixed. The park is always packed, so I wonder what the money is being invested in. Shame I can't give it more than two stars. I think if this place gets its act together it'll be worth the long trip. Also another noticeable issue.. this is supposed to be a family park... last time we went there was a radio station-stand playing inappropriate music. Gangster rap with curse words. Would have never thought that there is an amusement park in Riverside. We bought our tickets online, if you book your tickets 4 days in advance for 15.99 you get access to the amusement park, mini golf, and small water park! That is such a steal. The amusement park consists of a lot of basic carnival rides such as small roller coasters, bumper cars,merry go round and etc! They also have a water ride which is pretty cool! During the week day if you go during opening time around 11am the lines are extremely short lol :) . The mini golf area is also very cool, it's quite big with four different courses! The little water park consists of four little slides - very good for the kids on a summer day. They also have a small arcade in there which is very fun- they have a small little bowling alley for two which I thought was very fun! I would definitely come again :)! They charge 7 bucks for parking if you buy the parking pass online. They have a small pizza hut inside and other standard park foods like chicken tenders, burgers and such :) I would say for the price this is not a bad place to take the kids! or a fun little date night. read more
