Brought my truck in for a check engine light on in the morning. Spoke to carlos and said he will check it out and see what the problem is. A couple hours later he calls me back telling me they found the problem, it was the transmission temperature sensor. They got the OEM sensor as I requested and they recommended to replace the transmission filter since it hadn't been changed and they were going to be in there already. Came in with my 2015 VW Passat TDI in Aug 1st 2024. After they did my oil change my check engine light came on, then started overheating. $150 for an oil change and car wash. Carlos said it was the oil cooling house filter. He said he was sure that was the problem $460 bucks later the check engine light can back on. I went in ONCE again he then says I need to charge you for a diagnostic and he said I actually don't want to work on your car anymore he said he blame me for things going wrong in your car. Funny thing to say to someone whose car didn't have any issues until I let Carlos touch my turbo diesel car. $610 dollars down the drain and my check engine light was still coming on. He didn't even bother telling me not to drive my car until I get it fixed. I took it to VW Dealers I paid $220 for a diagnostic and they told me the problem was the coolant pump. They also didn't tell me not to drive it. All everyone is concerned with these days is fattening their own pocket. This is a shady business with deceptive business practices. I am disputing these charges,will be suing and writing a letter to the attorney general. Shame on the business owner. Take some accountability on your work. If you don't know just say you don't know. Don't just keep changing the parts until you reach the right part that needed to be changed. Buyer beware! You have been warned! And don't take your turbo diesel here! read more

I own a 2017 Chevy Silverado, which has been a solid truck for my needs. However, my recent service experience at Simpson Chevy of Irvine left me frustrated. I took the truck in for routine maintenance, and unfortunately, the customer service was lacking. The staff didn't seem very attentive, and I had issues with communication throughout the process. On top of that, the service took much longer than expected. After this poor experience, someone recommended Castrol Premium Lube Express in Aliso Viejo. My car was having an issue w the oil pan gasket causing a leak- something that they could've TOTALLY fixed themselves, I am sure. RATHER than doing that, they called me to let me know about the problem, tell me it should still be covered under warranty, and to contact my dealer so that I could get it done for free. As a woman, we hear all sorts of stories about getting to a mechanic/lube shop and having them tell us a filter that didn't need to be changed was due, or a brand new belt needed replacing, etc., so I wanted to share an exact opposite experience and hopefully let some women in charge of their own car maintenance know of a great local place to go. ...added bonus? Please hire someone with better communication skills. I just paid $77 for an oil change and was never informed of a "complimentary" car wash. Also, hand me the receipt when finishing the job so I can go inside and pay. Instead, the technician brought the receipt to the cashier without me knowing. I was standing around outside like a lost person walking around in circles. Finally when the technician came back around with my car, he hits the curb with my front bumper. Honestly, I don't really care about the scratch on my bumper or the "complimentary" car wash. This is just a commuter car that I don't care about and my time is more important than waiting around for a car wash on a car I don't care about. However, train your employees to properly communicate with your customers. The awkward stare as the keys were not handed to me because I haven't paid yet could have been avoided with better communication or simply handing me the receipt and informing me to pay inside as the car is brought around. Seems like Carlos has exceptional reviews but the young technician that I got was awful with communication and I will not be coming back. Thank you. read more

Best service out there! My 2018 Hyundai Tuscon was letting me know it was due for service -3000 miles ago, oops! I was going to take it to the dealership for service but they never had any appointments available. I decided to reach out to Castrol Premium Lube Express and they were able to get me in right away! They were really accommodating to my schedule! I was able to drop off my car, and instead of waiting in their waiting area, I decided to walk over to the shopping center near by. I did some shopping while my car was getting serviced, which was great and really convenient for me. Juan Carlos (the owner) called me to let me know what my car needed done (oil change, tire rotation, windshield wiper replacement) and let me know the price (SUPER AFFORDABLE!). My car was serviced and even got a free car wash! I was called and let know my car was ready to be picked up! Two days later my car got a check engine light on. I called Juan Carlos back and he was really accommodating, he told me everything was great when he maintenance my car but that he would be happy to look it over again and run a diagnostics free of charge. Turned out my gas cap was just loose and that was setting the sensor off (oops!). Overall AMAZING SERVICE! If you need to get your car some maintenance, please call Castrol Premium Lube Express! Don't ever go to this place! My first mistake is that I came here without my husband because clearly this place rips off women that they assume are stupid. I brought my brand new car that's 5 months old here for an oil change because my co-worker has a Mazda 6 suv and get his oil change and free car wash for $45. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and the weird, rude, younger guy helping me quoted me $74. I thought the price difference was a lot and said that, but he insisted it was because my suv takes more oil so I said okay. I go to check out in the gas station and the bill suddenly was $110. I look, and they added new filters and a bunch of stuff they didn't ask me about first that I did not approve. I went back to the guy helping me and asked him why he quoted me $74 and charged $110. He literally said "no I didn't! I didn't quote you $74! I told you about this stuff". I said that my car is new and that's a lie and I'd never approve that and he said "yes you did, I told you" I said no, you didn't and asked to speak to a manager. The manager said all he could do was discount $15. So I paid $21 more than what I agreed to still. This place is a rip off and the guys that work here are rude as can be and have the worst customer service I've ever experienced!!!
