I cannot say enough wonderful things about this business. We brought our car in for an oil change when the oil light came on, but we're also experiencing smoke. I assumed the oil change would take care of the smoke due to my ignorance about cars, but it turned out it was a different matter altogether. Thankfully, even though we were down the road when our car started smoking so much we thought it was on fire, one of the business's employees (Jessie) was leaving at the end of the night for home saw us, pulled over, helped us out, escorted us back to safety, and even offered to drive us home to a different city. The whole team (e.g., Brian and Jessie) has been absolutely fantastic and helpful. Always professional, always opening the doors for us, absolute perfection. This morning, I woke up planning to change the oil in my 2018 Porsche Macan. I usually go to my regular mechanic, but he was super busy. So, I decided to check Pep Boys online and was impressed by their technology for booking appointments. I filled out all the information about my car smoothly, and I even found a $45 coupon on top of the $118 oil change price. When I arrived at the Pep Boys location on Alicia Parkway, the guy at the front desk was very polite and friendly. I showed him the $45 coupon, and as soon as he saw it, I noticed a change in his attitude. Without even checking how busy the garage was, he told me it would take 3 to 3.5 hours for an oil change. Trying to save some money, I accepted it and decided to walk around the shopping mall to kill time. At 10 a.m., I looked for a place to sit and relax, but I couldn't find any bars open. After walking around fo 49 minute, I returned to Pep Boys and saw that my car was still parked outside the garage. I asked the front desk employee about my 10 a.m. appointment and why my car hadn't been serviced after waiting for 49 minutes. His response was, "Your 2018 Porsche Macan is very high-tech, and we don't have the right mechanic for it. We only have one mechanic who can work on it, and he's busy right now. When he's done, he'll take care of your car." I was shocked that such a big company only had one mechanic capable of handling my car. Frustrated, I stepped outside and called Jiffy Lube in Alicia Creek. They told me the price would be $129 and that I'd be out of the garage in 30 minutes. Without hesitation, I grabbed my keys from Pep Boys and drove less than four miles to Jiffy Lube. When I arrived, I was greeted by the most professional and happy team. The manager and employees were fantastic, welcoming, and knowledgeable about my car. I explained my situation, and they assured me I'd receive quick and proper service. I will definitely recommend Jiffy Lube for their outstanding service and expertise. I was embarrassed when Pep Boys told me they didn't have the right mechanic for my car. I'll never go back there again, especially after filling out all those forms just to get a $45 discount. I'd rather pay $129 and save my valuable time. Please don't arrive exactly at 7 am when they open and expect to be serviced. I showed up about ten minutes before seven and waited for them to open. Five minutes after 7, I went to their indoor customer service section, which was empty until Adam appeared, asking if I could pull up and please wait because he was "still opening up right now." Not a big deal, I am patient, so I pull my car up as I watch them scramble to "open." Another customer from the previous day had arrived at seven also to "pay for yesterday." I realize now that this was where I should've realized it's disorganized and unprofessional at this place. After I've waited 20 minutes, been pulled into a bay, and popped my hood, Adam strolls up to my window with a smirk, "Uh, you're gonna be paying with cash right because our machine is down," Y'all ngl, I nearly lost it. I asked him what he thought was so funny about his unprofessional service when I've been waiting for all this time for them just to tell me this now--no apology--instead, just him going on the defensive. What would have been appropriate is anywhere in the 20 minutes I was waiting for them to "open" AFTER 7 am, if they had just let me know that I was going to need cash, I could have gone to the ATM while I was waiting for them to "open." Never have I visited a business that opened at 7 am and spends the better part of an hour "opening" and is unprepared to service customers. Then tops it off by getting frustrated with the customer for being irritated by their substandard service. As a patron, I have a right to express frustration if your business practices are subpar. How are you upset that I'm disappointed in the crappy service you've provided and your lack of care or empathy for customers. Took my car in on Thursday for a standard oil change, and paid $47.00. Went home after and didn't drive my car till Saturday early evening. When I got to my destination I thought I saw smoke coming out from hood of my car. But thought, it can't be I just had oil change done. On my way home, this time, it's apparent that smoke is coming from my car because it's a lot of smoke and I see the oil lamp flashing in red. Was so scared my card gonna break down. On a stop light the car next to me was yelling, "what's wrong with your car dude?" Thank God I wasn't so far away from my house and made it home, with smoke coming out of my car. So I've been having trouble with one of my front tires getting constantly low and was looking for the nearest place to replace my tire. Almost everything was closed because it was Saturday but luckily I found this location. I got there at 5PM and Alan at the front desk was not only extremely friendly (rare these days to have friendly customer service) but got me an amazing deal on four new tires. He asked me to come the next day but I couldn't because I am really busy working. Told him I needed them done today. He went to the back and they agreed to take me in as the last client! So relieved!
