We moved from another state and we needed a place to stay while we looked to buy our first home. We were sold on this place because we have 3 small dogs and A LOT of places will NOT accept our bundle of dogs. Also, all utilities included!? YES! Cable, Lights, Gas, Sewer, Trash and Water! GREAT DEAL! So we were paying $1300 for a small hotel room. Since we know this was going to be temporary it was good that they had short term leases. 9 months lease would get you a free month to use anytime you wanted. The kitchen has a dishwasher, two electric burners and microwave. No oven. We had to purchase an air fryer and keep it on the counter so we could bake and fry food. You get a small hotel closet so don't bring a lot of clothes. All we could fit in the room was our queen size bed. No tub, just a shower and a small shelf over the toilet for toiletries. There is a TV installed as well so you don't have to bring your own. The fridge is very small as well so you can't really stock up on a lot of food and items. The laundry room could get quite expensive. $2.25 a wash and $1.75 a dryer. There is only 4 washers and 4 dryers. I usually end up spending $40 a month on laundry between me and my husband. PEOPLE WILL MOVE AND TOUCH YOUR LAUNDRY! There was a time where 3 washers were open and they took my clothes out of the front facing washer and threw them into a empty washer! Why!? There is 3 other washers open! If there is no dryers available, what do I do with wet clothes!? Leave them on a table in there and wet everything? Inconsiderate people.. I even caught the lady doing it because I watched her do it to someone else's clothes. You have some people in the building that are cool, like some neighbors around us.. I also notice they have NO thief problem. I never heard or saw anyones packages get stolen or taken. They have a fitness room, game room, theater room, and computer room. We didn't use them. We rather Catalina Community had a dog playground area so we could let our dogs run because the parks are 7 to 10 minutes away. Be aware, you have some dog parents that don't clean up after their dogs so you might have some poop to watch out for in the grass. Also be careful of wildlife, we heard coyotes howling behind the fence in the woods. Other than that, if you just need a quick place to stay it aint so bad. It should be just a temporary stay but some people here have stayed here for years! I don't know how they do it. I need much more space!! Lol read more

I'm looking to be moving in the next year so I've been taking a lot of tours of locations and more often than not I am asking friends who have a place if they like their building and this place is OK I'm not sure it's what I'm looking for but it seems clean and smells nice. Some of the appliances seemed dated and thinking that the landscaping has really been not kept up. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Pay money to stay here if you like wasting money and you like bad customer service. Number 1 reason NOT to stay here: the front desk (live in) girl. - no wifi - bad reception - dog barks at God awful hours - thin walls so you hear the next door neighbor talking. - the wash and dryer is always broken... and if not, there is 2-3 for 100 rooms! - NO maintenance ... the grounds are covered in dog urine/ poo. There's trash everywhere. - there is no one at the front desk EVER!!! Good luck getting help. I only chose this place because it was so close to my job assignment at the time. I'm a good customer. I'm only in to sleep... leave at 6am and get in at 10pm. All I needed was a bed. But this place is the Worst!!! The pictures look nice but don't be fooled. I've been at Catalina for the past year and will be staying for another few months as I'm in Bellevue for a longer IT project implementation. My rent is reimbursed by my employer, but the other alternative was to stay in hotels (I fly back and forth from Seattle to home) and this is far more convenient than constantly living out of a suitcase. I had the opportunity to get a "real" apartment but I didn't want the hassle of having to get rid of all the furniture at the end of my stay, and thus Catalina fit the bill of a nice furnished rental. It's not perfect, but after researching other furnished rentals, it's by far the most reasonably-priced. The facilities are clean and generally well-maintained. There's been some issues with people smoking in their apartments, but the management is now cracking down hard and forcing evictions for repeat offenders. The internet is fast, but I find some of my devices tend to lose signal every now and then. Being IT I know this is simply the location of my apartment relative to the routers (I'm right between 2) so my connection tends to "hop" between them. Anytime I've had an issue (light out, wonky cable box, heat too high/low) the management has been quick to respond. The managers live in the building so there's always someone around to deal with emergencies. This isn't a luxury apartment, and some of the furniture has scuff marks and the like, but it's clean and serviceable. All basic linens are supplied, but in the winter I would recommend an extra blanket for the bed. There is central A/C for the summer that works sometimes TOO well. They do provide housekeeping for an extra fee, but if you don't feel like paying that then you can borrow a vacuum and broom at any time. Most of all, the location is perfect for anyone working in downtown Bellevue, it's maybe an 8 minute drive or easy bus ride to the downtown Bellevue terminal. Overall, I would recommend this location over staying at any other long-term hotel. read more

I stayed at Catalina just shy of two months upon relocating to Seattle area for work. The place was decent enough as it was only a temporary home for me; however, I was left with a very sour taste in my mouth at the end of my stay. Only giving it one star as I have to. My company found this place as I was new to the area. My initial thoughts were that wow I cannot wait to get out of here. it looks extremely dated, and has this old carpet smell, but the room was clean, close to work, and had free coffee in the lobby so I couldn't complain. I was on a month to month lease, and let me just state right off the bat that I did not read the fine print that said I had to give 30-day notice, or that the contract would roll into the next month automatically. Basically, I had to give notice on my first day of moving in if I only wanted to stay there for a month. Naive of me to think that month-to-month, meant month. to. month. About 2 weeks in, I found a long-term place, and talked to the manager about ending my contract at the end of Month 1, which is when I was told about the 30-day notice. They said they were willing to give me one week off, but that I would have to pay for 3 weeks worth of Month 2 even though I wasn't going to be staying there. I tried, but accepting my mistake, I agreed, and asked that if they were able to find a new tenant earlier to let me know and maybe we can work something out that would be beneficial for the both of us. They said that they had a lot of vacancies, so that may not be very likely but that they will try. Fast forward a couple weeks - I had moved into my own apartment but still had one more week left until my Catalina lease ended, still had keys, and was still paying rent for it, and no word from the manager on finding a tenant. I stopped by to check my mail and drop off some things at the apartment as I was expecting to work late nights that week and figured might as well be close to work, but my key fob wouldn't work to get into the building. Luckily I had the passcode on my phone so was able to get in, but when I got to the apartment, my key wouldn't work to open the door either. I thought I heard a noise, so I knocked, and to my shock, a man opened the door. I was startled, as here I was expecting to spend the week in an apartment I was still paying for, only to be locked out of it and greeted by a stranger. When I asked him what he was doing there, he said that he had moved in about a week ago and was living there now. I sent a message right away to the manager asking what was going on, and her response was that there was an emergency in that man's unit and they had to temporarily move him to my unit as it was free. Even though the man had said no such thing, and in our previous conversations the manager had told me the building had a lot of vacancies so they couldn't find a tenant for my empty apartment. Really?? There was absolutely no communication on that matter to me and it was still technically mine for another week. Catalina benefited with getting double rent for the same place, so why tell me, right? I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you are still curious, here are my two cents apart from the terrible ending. Location - Not the most happening area, and you really have to drive everywhere so has a low walking score. But that being said, it was only about a 10-minute drive for me to work, and also to downtown Bellevue so it was convenient. Price - Way overpriced for what it is, and that is really saying something as I am originally from Vancouver, BC where it costs $1000 to rent a shoebox. It is good for a temporary fix if you are new to the area and need to look around before committing to a lease or buying. Ending on a positive note with a pro - the bed. Very comfortable. read more

We love this place. It is very conveniently located in the FACTORIA area of Bellevue. We live in Arizona full time but like to get away to the nice temperatures in Washington as a reprieve from the Arizona summer and also have the opportunity to visit our children and grandchildren who live here. This place fits the bill perfectly. It is reasonably priced and even though it's not the Ritz, it is very clean and we enjoy all the conveniences which come with the apartment. We use the gym almost every day. There's a game room which my grandkids enjoy when they visit , convenient laundry facilities and there's a garbage chute located on every floor. There's a business center. We have had no issues with the Internet. There are bbq's on all three patios. We love Adrienne and Jenna, who attend to all our needs. This is our third summer here and we plan on staying here every year for as long as we make the trek to Washington. read more

When I moved from Kirkland to Bellevue I was pretty unfamiliar with the area still and was looking for a safe, affordable, clean, all inclusive, close to work and a convenient location for myself and 5 year old son. Catalina has satisfied all of those wants. Although it is not a hotel, house keeping is available for a small fee and it truly has that hotel feel to it. The rooms are nicely sized and furnished with everything you might need. For being in a bigger city this place has a hometown feel to it, it's not so large that you can't get help when you need it (if you need it) The property is beautifully landscaped and well kept. The management staff was/is helpful and prompt to respond to any request and in many cases would go above and beyond any normal expectations (surprised to read some of the reviews stating otherwise as I've been here over two years. I've lived in many buildings and experienced truly poor customer service) Wifi and cable included, no trash or electric bill to hassle with, just rent and an awesome location. Freeways, shopping, dining, and entertainment are all within minutes away, but you don't even need to leave, they have a updated gym with new equipment, an awesome theater room for game days or fun with the kids and a game room complete with air hockey, ping pong and a pool table, and really nice outdoor lounging areas to BBQ and relax with friends. If you are looking for a place you will return to again and again this is it. For me it's home, for some it's a temporary home but it's a great place to live overall. Negative: I don't think I've ever lived in a place where community laundry didn't have its challenges, the machines are relatively new but of course with irregular or irresponsible use they can go on the fritz, which they do on occasion but it's never kept me from getting it done. read more

The fully furnished and very reasonably priced Catalina Apartments gave us the time we needed to find what we wanted without feeling like we were living in a hotel in the meantime. I traveled to WA for work and stayed at Catalina for a little over 2 months. It was a great home away from home with the room to set up an additional remote office. The rooms are newly remodeled, so they are modern, clean, and efficient. The staff was super accommodating and friendly and the location was a huge plus! My husband & I are now considered 'long-term' tenants at the Catalina since we have been here for over a year.We spent a lot of time looking at other properties & cost-wise, couldn't beat the Catalina. When you add up phone, internet, heat, water, garbage, etc. + a monthly rental fee, we are saving more than $600/month. Even more beneficial is we don't have the headache of paying all the separate bills each month to the various utility companies. We never have to worry about paying bills on time, getting late fees if we got busy and forgot to pay on time....the list of benefits is endless! More benefits: Not having to pay for a credit check to move in. They are pet-friendly! They keep pet-owners on one floor so that non-pet owners are respected. They even have doggie doo-doo bags at each exit for when you walk your dog - too cool! This place is ideal for stays from 3 days to 3 months to over a year, etc. We have met many wonderful people at the Catalina that have become our friends. Business travelers tend to come back time & time again and we look forward to seeing the people we have met come back again.I truly can say it's like having a big, extended family! Sports teams put their players up at the Catalina, as does Microsoft. Those Seahawks have some BIG guys! I have to respond to a comment I just read about bug bites. I can honestly say I don't believe that it happened. Anytime something is reported to management they deal with it immediately. If they had gotten this complaint they would have taken care of it - they didn't get this complaint. There would be no reason to lie. I'm not sure why this person made this complaint, or if he even stayed at the Catalina. If he did, he would have no problem emailing me his name, date of stay, and who he complained to, etc... so that I can check it out. If it's true, he wouldn't have anything to hide, right? Some tenants have taken advantage of the apartment policies here. For example, this building: 1. Even thought the managers buy doggy bags for the tenants to use to pick up their dog's poo, some of them never pick up it up. Most property mgmt companies impose a fine for this - Meredith & Adrienne try not to be extreme because they believe in the goodness of all their tenants. 2. Storage is available depending on how much space you need. Most places charge a min of $25/mo for this. We have been allowed to use several storage lockers while we are organizing our outside storage unit. I realize this is getting way too long!! Suffice it to say, the Catalina is a great place to stay - for short or long stays! If anyone has any questions about the place, feel free to ask my husband and I. I'm surprised to see these stars for this apartment! The management is awful. The moment you sign the contract with them they vanish. They are almost never in their office, always a sign is hanging there . The living area is like a ghost room. All the lights are out and so dusty. The multimedia room is the same. The facilities in game room and theater room doesn't work. The floors has not been vacuumed for a long time.INTERNET is very unreliable. The kitchen/cookware is so limited. We had to go and buy most of the stuff on our first day. The rent is too expensive for this service. We only stayed there for a month to buy a house. A/C is the worst by bringing out all the cooking smells. read more

While I can't speak to the cost of the apartments in relation to the area (they were subsidized by my employer), I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. While it is obvious the Catalina Apartments started as a retirement community of some sort, it seems the new owners have done a great job at the remodel. I lived in a studio apartment that was furnished rather well. While the appliances were rather nice, the two-burner, side-ways mounted stove was a little strange. The lack of an oven in the room was also a little disappointing (considering I was living here 3 months). Other than the few cheap furnishings like utensils and glassware, the inside was great. Expensive looking wood cabinets and what appeared to be granite counters and a granite topped desk. The biggest complaint here is that the supplied "high-speed" internet is bested by my 3 year old cell phone, and I'm sure by even dial-up. Thankfully my corporate housing company supplied me with a ClearWire modem for the interim, although I'm sure other residents were not as lucky. The other minor issue is that the front desk is open from only 9-5, which meant that I could never catch the manager due to my own work hours. However, she was remarkably quick in responding to emails. Other than a few loud neighbors (and what seems to be a family of 5 living out of the one room studio apartment next door, infants and all), the place was more than I expected. I had gone in picturing a long stay hotel type of place but was pleasantly surprised to have relatively nice furnishings and great staff. The location is close to Factoria, which means all of the necessities are nearby, even if my office in Redmond was a bit of a commute in rush hour traffic (again, no fault of the Apartments, being corporate housing and all). The extra amenities are great, including the theater room (granted it only has 4 chairs - albeit the most comfortable and luxurious I've had for a movie ever), the game room and it's handful of arcade style tables, the small gym, and the multipurpose room which made up for my lack of an oven. Highly recommended for those looking for a decent place for temporary housing, especially if you have other means of getting internet. (ClearWire or a tethered cellphone work best). read more

Catalina is in Factoria, very easy access to I-90 and 405. It's listed as an "apartment community", but that's not really accurate. It's more like a transitory apartment, not a place you'd live for three years, but somewhere you can get into fast, for a month to perhaps a year, and be satisfied. And that's saying a lot. So what is it? Basically it seems to be a converted retirement hospital. Apartments have a basic studio kitchen. No thermostats generally, but the complex has AC. No counters in the bathrooms, and tankless toilets, more like you'd find in an airport or school than a home. Furnished, but not with the nicest of stuff. Does have Wi-Fi and basic cable and flatscreen TVs. Decent exercise room, larger dining room/kitchen with an oven (no ovens in the apartments) can be reserved easily. Maid service is available. Animals are allowed. Some of the apartments don't have any bedroom windows. The front desk is staffed by the girls whose family owns (or owned) it, and they live there, although oddly this actually means they're at the desk less often than you'd expect, not more. No weekend service. But you don't really need any either. Yes, it's different. But again, if you need to move in on very short notice, and especially if you don't have furnishings with you - e.g. business trip or sudden move - this is a pretty good way to go. read more

The Apartments are good and the area is nice...The problem is the two ladies that manage the complex they are awful....They suppose to be at the front desk but they are rarely are there....Why are they both gone for hours together, one should always be at desk...Only for an hour lunch should it be empty...The Owners of complex need to look into this... read more
