Ultra slow service. Not sure how the food is, waiting to try it for 25 min now. Wth, it's 2 o'clock and not busy.

On 12-19-2013 my husband and I had a late breakfast at Cosentino's. We had eaten there many times before with great food and service. We got our meals, I had 2 eggs over easy, home fries, sausage and an english muffin. After several bites (and it was delicious) I saw a black short hair in my food. I called the waitress and told her I could not eat anymore because of the hair, and she took the plate away, she asked if I wanted another and I said no, as I could clearly see the cook, a man with short black hair and no hair net or anything covering his hair as he cooked. So I said no. She never said another word, nothing, then presented us with the bill and we paid for both our meals and left. This was really BAD customer service and unsanitary! I am very disappointed in what happened, it was disgusting and we should not have paid for a meal with the cook's hair in it! read more

So, as a local, We are thrilled to have something that gives us decent food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. But since Cosentino's became Catalina's , we are REALLY happy. The burgers are amazing - think, fresh, grilled and juicy, and which ever version you choose, you won't be sorry. My favorites are the Hawaaian, and the Swiss mushroom. If you don't go too late in the evening, the fries are to die for, and our pizza from Catalina's is far better than the other local establishments offer. Sunday breakfast is a nice offering of favorites, as well as good omelets, and benedict. while I am not quite as impressed with the Italian dishes we have tried, we love the cozy charming new decor , their holiday decorating is fun, and the staff feel like family. Truly the best restaurant between Franktown and Kiowa. it deserves a 4 anywhere you would go, and a 5 for a small rural town like Elizabeth. read more

Nicest people you could ask for in a restaurant. Breakfast: best in town! I would recommend anything on the menu! Burgers: tasty and properly cooked burgers! Pizza: unique combos and never a disappointment. This place is great for children too! The staff doesn't mind crazy screaming babies and doesn't make you feel bad for kids being kids. My kids always eat the food here as well. Thanks for giving our town a nice place to eat. read more

Bland and over cooked breakfast with long wait times. Also absent wait staff. Go five miles into Kiowa for some AMAZING food at Patty Ann's.

Fish, chips and popcorn shrimp platter was tasty. Also liked the Backcountry Wheat beer.

When we got there, there were less than 10 diners for breakfast. We thought we'd get a quick breakfast. Wrong. The place filled up and we were there over an hour. The people at the table next to ours left before ordering. Do not order huevos rancheros. This was our third or fourth visit. Usually we go in later in the morning and it was okay. Have been here twice recently - chicken basil sausage sandwich for one dinner and Italian scramble for a Brunch meal. Both were very good, prompt and friendly wait staff both times. Atmosphere was nice, down-home. One request: there are a few fish choices, but all are fried. I would really like to see some other non-fried fish items, maybe a baked salmon, cod, or halibut entre. read more

The food here is definitely below average. While my steak was cooked okay, neither it nor the pasta salad had any seasoning/flavor at all. The serving of Sangria was very stingy and they now charge extra for things such as a bit of mayo. I won't go back. read more

I'm not impressed. The atmosphere is nice and so is the staff, but the food is over priced and they don't have a kid's menu. I had to order 3 slices of French toast for $7.50, a side of hash browns for $3.50 and a side of bacon for $3.50 and an extra plate and then split the food. Why wouldn't you have a kid's menu with smaller portions? Such a pain. If you have young kids, go somewhere else. read more

First the good. Great street appeal. The bad. Waitress was emotionless. Lasagna had sauce that tasted like ragu. Bread sticks was cold and hard. Green chili appeared to be canned and tasteless. Corn beef hash is hash browns with sliced up corn beef. Eggs were over cooked. Everything needed spices or a little salt and was overpriced. read more

Best green chili sauce I have ever had!!!! I have only been there for dinner. I get the enchilada grande with the green chili, it's heaven!! I have had a burger which was very good but not amazing, it was huge though. I have also had the Reuben which I liked. My husband loves the massive calzones but thought the pizza was decent but not as good as the calzone. Basically this is a great local diner with beyond amazing green chili!! read more

We have eaten there often and love the food. The reuben sandwich is excellent and the fries are fresh cut. The only thing I would say other than positive would be the service is kind of slow. read more

The food is good but we thought it was a bit pricy. I had the chef salad and my husband had the grilled chicken club sandwich and fries. I had iced tea and he had water. With tip, our bill came to $25 for lunch. We were just in the area for an event but if we are ever back this way, not sure we will stop again. read more

Food was very good but pricey. For example, an order of onion rings was $8.50. I had the reuben which was very good. My husband had the po' boy which he said was excellent and my son had the philly cheese steak which was just okay. All in all we'll probably return; there just aren't that many options in Elizabeth. read more

You can get better food at Olive Garden and pay half as much! The service is aweful and the guy that cooks is a jerk! He came out and yelled at this group of people at their table and told them not to come back! They weren't even being loud or rude or anything! I Don't know the cercomstances but either way, from an outside perspective the situation was poorly handled and uncalled for. read more

I tried pizza from this location when it was Cosentino's and now twice since it has been Catalina's Diner. The pizza has continued to be very disappointing. The toppings are very sparse, especially if you get meat. For the second time since it has become Catalina's, the meat makes an occasional appearance on each slice. Better to charge more for meat toppings that you can actually taste on the slice rather than cheap veggies as their replacement to cover the pizza when you add veggies. If I had to order it again, which I don't since there is a better pizza place across the street, I would ask for 5 times the meats and end up paying over $30 for a pizza that still doesn't measure up to the toppings across the street. Now I'm not a huge fan of the pizza across the street all the time so I am not biased. Also, the amount of cornmeal encrusted to the bottom of each slice of Catalina's pizza is obscene. So unnecessary. I realize the use of a small amount of cornmeal to allow the pizza to turn and slide easily off of the pan or stone, but this was a ridiculous amount that resulted in a off putting coarseness to the crust. I have never been one to leave the crusts on my plate, but this time it was a relief. I will not be ordering pizza from there in the future, it was a mistake to give the new name a second chance. read more
