There is no home inspection, but they do ask a series of questions, and as long as they all meet the qualifications of a suitable pet owner, then an appointment is set for a visit at the facility, and if you're ready right then and there, you just need to fill out a few things, pay, and head home with your new pet! As part of this initiative, she opened the Vanderpump Dog Rescue & Retail center in Los Angeles. 100% of proceeds from sales & adoptions go to the foundation. They also offer grooming services. A few years ago, a friend of mine adopted a dog from here - a beautiful tripod chihuahua mix. She was happy with the adoption process and loves her little princess. I was having dinner next door and stopped in to check the store out. As expected, the place is meticulously perfect and the décor is bougie with lots of cute plush dog toys & merch. Off to the side is a section where the fur babies that are up for adoption reside in posh play pens with white picket fences. There is also a nice area on the rooftop where potential adopters can spend quality time with their future fur baby. The staff here are very friendly, and I got to meet one of the pups named Meatball as he was on his way out for a walk. Today me and my boyfriend came and checked out the animals. First, we walked in , greeted immediately and it was VERY clean and fresh inside. we went on and checked out the cat room and had assistance with a very kind woman. She was very well mannered and had a huge smile on her face :)! she had very positive energy. The cat room had no smell whatsoever , smelt very clean and looked very clean. I pet strawberry and luna and they were really well taken care of. The litter was also clean ! I went to the very back part of the cat room and the kittens were also well taken care of and it didn't have a smell either. They were very playful and adorable while the woman was talking to us about her fur babies she has at home ! After we played with the kitties and explored and chat a bit we decided to see the dogs. The dog area was also very clean , the dogs had no poop or pee in their kennels , the dogs were nice , had been treated properly and even another kind woman came out and handed us a bag of treats to feed the dogs and chatted with us as well ! she was very kind ! We decided to finally play with a dog and another kind woman assisted us with that , i loved her energy and she actually spoke with us about her animal of her own with us and even made it possible to see and hold a 2 month old puppy in the office (since the puppy was too young to be out on the floor). This was the BEST shelter experience I have ever had & I definitely will be coming back to adopt a fur baby sooner or later ! 10/10 costumer service and 10/10 environment ! This place is a hidden gem!

This location on a Saturday afternoon was better to get to traffic wise from where I was. Located on Yukon Avenue, the adoption center had easy street parking after 2pm on a Saturday. The office staff (not sure if paid or volunteer) were kind. We asked them some questions and they were knowledgeable. There is a feline section for adoptees available and a canine section for adoptees available. I am a longtime supporter of this great organization yet, it was my first time at this South Bay area adoption center. Planning to return hopefully this weekend to drop off more needed items for the dogs and cats. 5 stars.

My second experience was terrible. After my puppy was killed while with me on leash by a reckless driver, I later returned to L&L to look for a new baby. Different set of employees, and both my nephew and I were shocked that one of them seemed to blame me for my puppy being killed. He was rude, insensitive to the circumstance, and he did all he could to throw up roadblocks to helping me. He was an expressionless jerk who had zero empathy or professionalism. I contacted the manager about this, and though she three times promised to call me back, she never did. This is heartless behavior for a place that is supposed to be doing good. I will never go back to that place again. The only reason this is not a 1-star review is because my first experience with them was good. That appears to have been an anomaly. I adopted a pup from Best Friends West LA, which I cannot recommend enough.

The place is clean and inviting and the animals are in great care. Toto was a great fit for us, we fostered him for a few weeks until we decided to adopt him. The process was very straightforward and easy. These cats are such a HUGE if not the most important part of my life and Leslie and Morgan were so helpful the entire time!!! They place Shelter Diversion Managers in shelters with very…read morehigh intake numbers, try to assist with medical if it helps a family keep their pet, assist with spay or neuter for folks in the community who are likely to surrender a dog or cat because they can't afford to sterilize their animal. They assist with diverting medical dogs and cats who would be subject to euthanasia if surrendered, then they diligently screen applications to select the best adopters and provide a care package to get rehoming off to a success ful start... Follow up with adopters to assure that they are a good fit after adoption and post the before and after stories and updates on adopters as permitted... they really go above and beyond the norm for every single animal in their care. I have worked with the main office and have had more contact with the Diversion Manager Krista Dunlop in San Bernardino...I don't know how to describe the dedication above what rescues generally do.. that Lange Foundation exceeds... Every visit to their campus in Los Angeles, I see staff and volunteers out exercising and training the dogs in their care, as well as staff and volunteers socializing the kitties... they have every need met and every single animal I have met are happy and loved on daily while in their care...if you are considering adding a pet to your family, I can not recommend any organization higher than this one for your consideration... If you can not adopt, foster, if you can't foster, volunteer and if you can not volunteer, please donate to the medical needs and overall care of the animals in their care...
