For all you Hello Kitty lovers, parking will cost you $40 just to get to this place, BUT there are absolutely NO lines in this cafe OR the giftshop. In fact the girl in our group felt like she had the whole place to herself, because she totally did. There were only a couple of people outside eating, other than that the place is yours! The one girl who was working there seemed friendly and answered our friends questions. They have cheap Hello Kitty alcoholic drinks for $10. They all had some berry or fruit flavor added it to and came in a plastic cup with a character silhouette on it. She liked her drink and felt that the character macaroons were cute and okay. She said the macaroons didn't taste fresh though.

After a fun day at Universal Studios Hollywood my wife and I went try out the Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe in City walk. We are very very curious about the Hello Kitty Cafe it have become very popular around the world bring the world of Hell Kitty and delicious pastrys and other items they serve at the cafe. We look at menu display they delicious pastrys and drinks we notice they a special it's a hot chocolate and berry & cream churro for $13 we decided to get it and try it out. Right away we notice lots of people were coming to the Cafe to see what going on and try the pastrys. We order the special combo and see the hype about it. The Cafe look very cute everything in pink the traditional color of Hello Kitty. They call my number then I pick our special combo it looks so cute my wife say with little pink bow tie on the churro covering with sugar I impressed but how it taste. We took bite it was good but it needed little more flavor in the churro and berry and cream was ok but we enjoy it. My wife was told me is the Hello Kitty and Cafe worth I say yes depends if you are a Hello Kitty fan but a friend of mine tell me over in Japan Hello Kitty Cafe is better over there more stuff and different other items in Japan.

Pretty in pink, outdoor service for drinks, treats, and souvenirs. Only two customers ahead of us when we joined the line, and no one was waiting when my daughter and I were being helped. Ordered my daughter's beloved boxed macarons and decided against choosing a drink for myself due to the obligated polite, yet blank stare, counter service conversation. Might return at daughter's request and for the Sanrio nostalgia.

I think I mixed up my reviews. I put the cafe review on the store review, and it looks like I'm putting the store review in the cafe section. Oooops! It doesn't matter; they are connected to each other, and they are a duo, so it is an experience to do both. If you come to the cafe, make sure to check out the store next door; it is cute and full of so much Hello Kitty stuff. It is on the small side but is full of Hello Kitty, everyone, and is a Hello Kitty fan's best wish come to life. You will find it all in there; I saw stuff I had never seen, and since I normally shop Hello Kitty because one of my best friends loves Hello Kitty, I buy merchandise of that pretty often. This place makes it easier to buy stuff now, including rare items. Definitely worth checking both of these locations out at the same time.

really wanted to love the Hello Kitty Cafe at Universal CityWalk because I'm a huge Hello Kitty fan. My coffee was good, and the drinks are super cute. We ordered a second drink and specifically asked for light ice, but it came completely full of ice. When we politely mentioned it, we were told "oh sorry, can't remake it, maybe next time," which was pretty disappointing. For the price of these drinks, I expected a little more care and better customer service. I love the Hello Kitty brand and the aesthetic, but unfortunately the service didn't match the experience I was hoping for. Big fan of Hello Kitty , not so much the service here.

I was able to try out this hello Kitty and friends Café with my niece she is obsessed with hello Kitty so this was a nice surprise right next to this. There is a hello Kitty store as well which is super cute and adorable. The café itself has so many different drink options that come in the cutest little cup with a hello Kitty face the drink themselves taste delicious. I got one for my niece and she absolutely loved it. Staff is super friendly service was super quick and I just loved the theme of everything Pink. It was an incredible experience. We also were able to come on a day that was not too busy, but there is a roped off section as it could get very packed.

October 30, 2025 | Universal City | While 5 friends & I were walking around Universal City Walk, I decided upon The Hello Kitty Cafe! What a cute place! Plus, I've wanted to try the cafe for quite some time, but the line is usually too long! Aesthetics | The dessert looks so pretty, super cute! Very pink & Hello Kitty is adorable! Fun!! Macaron Set $26 | A variety of yummy sounding flavors: Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, and pistachio! I had to try it, as well as had fun sharing with friends! Our own little taste testing session! Hahaha! I enjoyed the raspberry, strawberry & chocolate flavors! I wasn't into the other flavors! Normally, I love pistachio, but wasn't into it. As to $26 for the macarons, it's a no. Overall | The Hello Kitty aesthetics are on point, super cute! I may return to try the cake decorated as a gift, because it's the cutest! Fun & colorful, cuteness overload of an experience!

I don't think I've ever been so stressed to make an order until this very day, A lot of the holiday items were sold out which was surprising because it was still early in the night. They didn't update the TV with what was sold out and she kept quickly trying to tell me what was sold out INSTEAD of what was available so it was so stressful. So that was a bummer but I did get Kuromi Berry Iced Tea. It was sweet but expected. Go early, I guess.

As a lover of Sanrio and all things pink, I give the Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe a 5 for ambience, decor, and overall cuteness! Service I've received has been pleasant, nothing really noteworthy as you just place your order at the register and wait to pick up your items. The food and drinks themselves though are honestly disappointing as everything is tooth-rottingly sweet. Besides the novelty and appeal of Hello Kitty and Friends, I'm not sure that I would actually order anything here to enjoy, but they do make for cute pictures. I have had some drinks and pastries at other locations that were definitely more edible, so I hope some of those might come to Citywalk at some point. Still, if you're a Hello Kitty fan, I would say it's worth a visit as there is also a little shop right next door with Sanrio merchandise and the overall vibe is cute and sweet.

$8 for a cup of sugar and a slight tea taste (which is my cup of tea). They don't offer lids unfortunately if you're trying to sneak it into the theaters like me.

More kiosk than cafe, but the food was good! This place is mostly sweet drinks and desserts. No real cafe food like sandwiches and salads. There's outdoor seating only, and you order at the counter. We got the macaron set, a matcha latte, lemonade, and the strawberry cake. The macarons were pretty good. I hate it when macarons are dried and crunchy, and these were nice and soft with a tiny bit of chew. The cake was also moist and tasty. There was a lot of frosting, but it was a rich white chocolate ganache, which was tastier to me than the typical fluffy frosting. Everything was pretty sweet, so it is probably better to share.

    Chelsea M.

Unfortunately, there wasn't much I enjoyed here beyond just for the photo. The café feels very much just aesthetics rather than flavor--most items are extremely sweet and seem more made for pictures than for actually eating. I already had low expectations but the quality of the food was not it, and overall it just wasn't good. Cute for photos, but not for anything else

This place is SOOOO cute! If you're a hello kitty fan and are going to Universal Studios you need to stop by this cafe! It's located right before the entrance of Universal on the city walk, and there is also a hello kitty merch store right next to the cafe. I got the hello kitty drink, and it was good but very sweet.

Does this place need reservation or can just come by as needed?

No reservation needed. There is no indoor seating. It is a little outdoor seating area. You order your drinks or deserts at the register, and then you pick it up and can take it anywhere to eat. It really is very small.

I believe if you don't have a reservation, you can join a virtual line by scanning a QR code in front of the restaurant. Once it's your turn to go inside, you wait in a short line where you can browse the menu before ordering. Probably about a 10ish minute wait inside. You order at a cashier but then wait about 5-10 minutes to be seated, which is when the food is brought out to you. They do ask for tips at the cashier after you pay, yet the only service is really just someone bringing the food to you on a tray. Nobody really checks up on you or helps you out after. The inside is a super cool experience. There are different "windows" where you can see Toads walking around and every 15 minutes or so, the place gets "attacked" and the restaurant gets dark with scary music too. Super cool ambiance. My group actually ordered almost every single main entree. We tried the: - Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots ($8.99): comes with four small cupcake looking garlic "knots." Barely meets expectations. We ordered it because we had two dishes of pasta too. 3/5 - Bowser's Fireball Challenge ($25.99): comes with a 1 lb meatball with some hot sauce and a puff pastry. Nothing special but it was one of our favorites. Don't get this and the other spaghetti & meatballs dish because the meatballs are basically the same. 4.5/5 - Fire Flower Spaghetti & Meatballs ($17.99): Again, nothing special. A little spicy somehow... 4/5 - Yoshi's Fettucine Alfredo ($16.99): Really nothing special again. Tastes like alfredo. Comes with a piece of grilled chicken. 3.5/5 - Luigi Burger (Pesto Grilled Chicken) ($18.99): It's a bit dry and doesn't taste like much. Huge fan of the pesto that comes on the side. It comes also with truffle fries which are one of the highlights of the meal too. 3/5 for the burger. 5/5 for the fries. - Mario Burger (Bacon, Mushroom, & Cheese) ($18.99): Nothing here is really impressive but it just tastes good enough. The truffle fries, again, are the highlight of the dish for us. 4/5 - ? Block Tiramisu ($9.99): It's solid. Tastes like a good tiramisu. A bit smaller than what I expected. 4/5 Would highly recommend giving this place a visit. The food is mid and overpriced, just like everything else in the park, but it's super cool for the ambiance and decoration.

Reservations are practically required, and you're definitely here more for the themed experience than the food. Even with a reservation, the wait times are brutal. First, you wait in line to order. Then, you wait in line to be seated. Then, once you're finally seated, expect to wait another 30 minutes to an hour for your food, depending on what you ordered. At one point I wasn't sure if Chef Toad had gone on break or if Bowser had locked everyone out of the kitchen, because the food took forever to come out. Unfortunately, the food didn't justify the wait. The Cheesy Garlic Knots weren't garlicky at all--they tasted like plain bread with a light dusting of powdered Parmesan. The Truffle Fries had little to no truffle flavor, and the cheese on the burgers wasn't even melted. The bright spots? The Super Star Lemon Squash was easily the best thing I ordered, and the pesto dipping sauce served with the fries was surprisingly delicious. Overall, Toadstool Cafe is worth visiting once if you're a Mario fan and want the experience, but if you're expecting food worthy of a Power Star, you may leave feeling like you got hit by a Blue Shell instead.

This burger made a beautiful photo, but the meat patties are unfortunately overcooked. The THICK, big burger is dry; however, the cheese and sauce helped. Still, the experience is very charming! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring Card. Also, the location has about eight interior tables, so there's a real possibility that you might not even find inside dine-in seating due to the crazy popularity. I arrived near opening time, and the line to the counter took about 45 minutes. The line didn't even shrink when I'd left.) I arrived at the One Piece Cafe (Los Angeles) on Sunday (around 11:08AM). There was a very long line upon arrival. They had a security guard to monitor everyone, so I felt safe. Parking is difficult since it's Los Angeles. Street Parking was very hard to find, so I parked at the nearby Parking Structure (Sho Tokyo Garage - $15 Flat Rate on Sat or Sun). It's a short two minute walk to the One Piece Cafe (Los Angeles). Staff is professional and polite. Staff worked hard despite the HUGE line of customers. It took about 45 minutes to reach the counter. And my food was completed within 14 minutes. I was lucky enough to find an open table inside. As mentioned, I ordered the Franky Double Burger & Fries ($24.50). This burger is definitely a fun spectacle, but it was also a fairly dry & overcooked burger. It was presented lovingly on a bed of crisp, well-seasoned fries. At the very least, it's HUGE!! I had plenty of leftovers. However, if I ever revisit, I'd focus on the fresh popcorn chicken or refreshing drinks. I had brought my fanatical One Piece buddy on this trip, and my friend's food tasted way better than mine. On ambiance, the One Piece Cafe (Los Angeles) is absolutely lovely if you're able to find an available table. The "windows" show the animated ocean's waves as if you're inside the One Piece boat. There's also screens showing the top pirates in a fun animated way. The location is very clean, and it felt whimsical like a themed cafe inside Disneyland or Universal Studios. The One Piece Music also plays as you wait outside in line and sit inside as you dine. If lucky enough, the experience is very special. Overall, I had a happy, cheerful experience at the One Piece Cafe (Los Angeles). There's many families, young ones, and anime enthusiasts happily adoring their One Piece Themed dining experience. If you're able to arrive early, I happily recommend. 4.5 out of 5

There's plenty of photo-ops - Joey and Chandler's apartment with the foosball table and BarcaLoungers, the Central Perk bar and couches, and Monica's kitchen. There's also a gift shop which had surprisingly reasonably priced items. The cafe itself has grab-and-go items as well as hot food items like pizza for sale. They have drinks named after the characters, but everything is pricey (tourist trap alert). I'm not a coffee drinker, but I had to partake in the "Central Perk" rite of passage, so I ordered the chocolate ice-blend drink (~$8 after tax), which is a pretty steep price for a drink that's essentially chocolate milk. For some reason, my order got lost in their system, so I was waiting and waiting for my name to be called. After approaching the counter and asking, they made it right away. They don't serve the drinks in the signature large coffee cups (but the cups are available at the gift shop), so I'd say you can skip the overpriced coffee and go straight for the photo ops (which are free/included in the price of admission).

The drinks are definitely on the richer, sweeter side, making them feel like a dessert in themselves.
