For all you Hello Kitty lovers, parking will cost you $40 just to get to this place, BUT there are absolutely NO lines in this cafe OR the giftshop. In fact the girl in our group felt like she had the whole place to herself, because she totally did. There were only a couple of people outside eating, other than that the place is yours! The one girl who was working there seemed friendly and answered our friends questions. They have cheap Hello Kitty alcoholic drinks for $10. They all had some berry or fruit flavor added it to and came in a plastic cup with a character silhouette on it. She liked her drink and felt that the character macaroons were cute and okay. She said the macaroons didn't taste fresh though.

SO CUTE! If you're a fellow lover of Hello Kitty and Friends, this little patio cafe is a fun stop. My strawberry mint lemonade was as refreshing as it was adorable on this unusually hot Los Angeles day. Each member of my group got a different pastry so we could experience them all. Favorite by far was the cute little white cake with strawberry filling and red candy bows. The others had a filling of apples and spices and were also delicious. Service was quick and friendly. The cuteness and attention to detail gave me so much joy. I'm sure the alcoholic drinks would have given even more joy but that will be saved for next time. Sanrio store right next door! Go. Have yourself an adorable time.

Super old sandwich that they are serving to customers

So sad to give it a bad review. I got the hello kitty cake and turkey avocado sandwich. The cake was okay but the sandwich was beyond old. I cannot believe they are serving this kind of food to customers. It was very dead on a weekday around 5pm. Probably won't come back

After a fun day at Universal Studios Hollywood my wife and I went try out the Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe in City walk. We are very very curious about the Hello Kitty Cafe it have become very popular around the world bring the world of Hell Kitty and delicious pastrys and other items they serve at the cafe. We look at menu display they delicious pastrys and drinks we notice they a special it's a hot chocolate and berry & cream churro for $13 we decided to get it and try it out. Right away we notice lots of people were coming to the Cafe to see what going on and try the pastrys. We order the special combo and see the hype about it. The Cafe look very cute everything in pink the traditional color of Hello Kitty. They call my number then I pick our special combo it looks so cute my wife say with little pink bow tie on the churro covering with sugar I impressed but how it taste. We took bite it was good but it needed little more flavor in the churro and berry and cream was ok but we enjoy it. My wife was told me is the Hello Kitty and Cafe worth I say yes depends if you are a Hello Kitty fan but a friend of mine tell me over in Japan Hello Kitty Cafe is better over there more stuff and different other items in Japan.

Pretty in pink, outdoor service for drinks, treats, and souvenirs. Only two customers ahead of us when we joined the line, and no one was waiting when my daughter and I were being helped. Ordered my daughter's beloved boxed macarons and decided against choosing a drink for myself due to the obligated polite, yet blank stare, counter service conversation. Might return at daughter's request and for the Sanrio nostalgia.

I think I mixed up my reviews. I put the cafe review on the store review, and it looks like I'm putting the store review in the cafe section. Oooops! It doesn't matter; they are connected to each other, and they are a duo, so it is an experience to do both. If you come to the cafe, make sure to check out the store next door; it is cute and full of so much Hello Kitty stuff. It is on the small side but is full of Hello Kitty, everyone, and is a Hello Kitty fan's best wish come to life. You will find it all in there; I saw stuff I had never seen, and since I normally shop Hello Kitty because one of my best friends loves Hello Kitty, I buy merchandise of that pretty often. This place makes it easier to buy stuff now, including rare items. Definitely worth checking both of these locations out at the same time.

really wanted to love the Hello Kitty Cafe at Universal CityWalk because I'm a huge Hello Kitty fan. My coffee was good, and the drinks are super cute. We ordered a second drink and specifically asked for light ice, but it came completely full of ice. When we politely mentioned it, we were told "oh sorry, can't remake it, maybe next time," which was pretty disappointing. For the price of these drinks, I expected a little more care and better customer service. I love the Hello Kitty brand and the aesthetic, but unfortunately the service didn't match the experience I was hoping for. Big fan of Hello Kitty , not so much the service here.

October 30, 2025 | Universal City | While 5 friends & I were walking around Universal City Walk, I decided upon The Hello Kitty Cafe! What a cute place! Plus, I've wanted to try the cafe for quite some time, but the line is usually too long! Aesthetics | The dessert looks so pretty, super cute! Very pink & Hello Kitty is adorable! Fun!! Macaron Set $26 | A variety of yummy sounding flavors: Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, and pistachio! I had to try it, as well as had fun sharing with friends! Our own little taste testing session! Hahaha! I enjoyed the raspberry, strawberry & chocolate flavors! I wasn't into the other flavors! Normally, I love pistachio, but wasn't into it. As to $26 for the macarons, it's a no. Overall | The Hello Kitty aesthetics are on point, super cute! I may return to try the cake decorated as a gift, because it's the cutest! Fun & colorful, cuteness overload of an experience!

I don't think I've ever been so stressed to make an order until this very day, A lot of the holiday items were sold out which was surprising because it was still early in the night. They didn't update the TV with what was sold out and she kept quickly trying to tell me what was sold out INSTEAD of what was available so it was so stressful. So that was a bummer but I did get Kuromi Berry Iced Tea. It was sweet but expected. Go early, I guess.

I was able to try out this hello Kitty and friends Café with my niece she is obsessed with hello Kitty so this was a nice surprise right next to this. There is a hello Kitty store as well which is super cute and adorable. The café itself has so many different drink options that come in the cutest little cup with a hello Kitty face the drink themselves taste delicious. I got one for my niece and she absolutely loved it. Staff is super friendly service was super quick and I just loved the theme of everything Pink. It was an incredible experience. We also were able to come on a day that was not too busy, but there is a roped off section as it could get very packed.

As a lover of Sanrio and all things pink, I give the Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe a 5 for ambience, decor, and overall cuteness! Service I've received has been pleasant, nothing really noteworthy as you just place your order at the register and wait to pick up your items. The food and drinks themselves though are honestly disappointing as everything is tooth-rottingly sweet. Besides the novelty and appeal of Hello Kitty and Friends, I'm not sure that I would actually order anything here to enjoy, but they do make for cute pictures. I have had some drinks and pastries at other locations that were definitely more edible, so I hope some of those might come to Citywalk at some point. Still, if you're a Hello Kitty fan, I would say it's worth a visit as there is also a little shop right next door with Sanrio merchandise and the overall vibe is cute and sweet.

Strawberry hello kitty cake

I'm not sure if it was just my experience, but this cake was practically inedible... I couldn't even finish it. Don't be fooled by how it looks, the taste was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, there was visible dust on top, which makes me question how well these cakes are being stored. I definitely won't be ordering this again. On a more positive note, the drink I had was actually pretty decent. The cake was around $14...

$8 for a cup of sugar and a slight tea taste (which is my cup of tea). They don't offer lids unfortunately if you're trying to sneak it into the theaters like me.

Does this place need reservation or can just come by as needed?

No reservation needed. There is no indoor seating. It is a little outdoor seating area. You order your drinks or deserts at the register, and then you pick it up and can take it anywhere to eat. It really is very small.

Be advised that Toadstool Cafe has a lot of buzz surrounding it, leading to long lines of patrons waiting to get in. Reservations are highly highly recommended and from what we heard, reservations don't guarantee a dining experience [depending on when you arrive]. Reservations were made about a week prior to our visit and was pretty easy. If you are flexible and do not have a schedule to abide by, that makes the process even easier. The staff will not allow you to enter PRIOR to your appointment time so coming sooner is pointless. The young gentleman mentioned the earliest he could probably get us in would be 5 mins before hand. The dining process is pretty easy but it is 100% time consuming due to visitors not knowing what to expect and unaware of what they want to order. The cafe is supposed to be a quick service kinda environment where you order at the counter, you are provided with an order number, you stand in line and wait for other staff to seat you, and then more waiting around until the food is actually delivered directly to you. My only advice is ordering anything and everything you may be wanting because getting back in line to place additional orders is really annoying. Better to have more food than not enough in my eyes. Food: *SUPER MUSHROOM SOUP *BOWSER'S FIREBALL CHALLENGE *MARIO'S BURGER *LUIGI BURGER (PESTO GRILLED CHICKEN) *YOSHI'S FETTUCINE ALFREDO The Super Mushroom Soup came in a souvenir bowl- cute but when it comes to the actual soup size portion, it was TINY. Soup was good but saltier than I would have liked. The Bowser Fireball Challenge was the best dish of the night- shocking! The large 1lb meatball was cooked well- filling, moist, and the Bowser puff pastry was delicious. The marinara sauce comes with a little kick by default but you are provided with hot sauce on the size for those who like to kick it up even more. Mario's Burger was alright- nothing worth raving about but nothing to complain about either. Nineteen bucks for a basic burger is a bit much but expected at these kinds of places. Luigi's Burger was recommended by our host and this was unfortunately the WORST purchase of our meal! The grilled chicken was dry making it so hard to get down. This $19 spent was completely wasted! Yoshi's Fettuccine Alfredo was good. My picky little monster ate this one right up. The sauce was well coated throughout the plate and the broccoli and egg shaped crisp was her favorite part. I found it to be ever-so-slightly bland but still good. 4 stars for the experience. The cafe design and attention to detail is what makes this place so darn amazing. I'm happy with the overall memories and feels this place gave but the food wasn't anything spectacular.

Folks, you have the opportunity to eat the ambiance of Nintendo land. Overall, food was probably the best in the park, but that's a pretty low bar. I got the Bowser spicy meatball. It came with a puff pastry shaped like Bowser. The spicy part was the buffalo sauce you can mix into the tomato sauce. The meatball was huge, 1 lb, and it was pretty good. My kid had the spaghetti and meatball. We also got the soup that came with a take home bowl what's shaped like a power-up mushroom. Overall, a fun experience, great ambiance, okay food. Tip: if you think you are going to go, download the universal studio app and make a reservation at least a day before. By the morning of your visit, most of the good slots are gone

It's definitely a tourist trap, but if you're a Friends fiend, this is the place for you. There's plenty of photo-ops - Joey and Chandler's apartment with the foosball table and BarcaLoungers, the Central Perk bar and couches, and Monica's kitchen. There's also a gift shop which had surprisingly reasonably priced items. The cafe itself has grab-and-go items as well as hot food items like pizza for sale. They have drinks named after the characters, but everything is pricey (tourist trap alert). I'm not a coffee drinker, but I had to partake in the "Central Perk" rite of passage, so I ordered the chocolate ice-blend drink (~$8 after tax), which is a pretty steep price for a drink that's essentially chocolate milk. For some reason, my order got lost in their system, so I was waiting and waiting for my name to be called. After approaching the counter and asking, they made it right away. They don't serve the drinks in the signature large coffee cups (but the cups are available at the gift shop), so I'd say you can skip the overpriced coffee and go straight for the photo ops (which are free/included in the price of admission).

The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, and everyone working there was so nice. We were served by a wonderful Caucasian maid, and we also noticed a cute Korean maid taking care of some other tables--the whole staff was super friendly and really added to the charming, positive vibe of the cafe. One thing that really stood out to me was their retail section. They have a surprisingly solid selection of Japanese trading card games like Weiss Schwarz, Hololive, and Pokémon, alongside some manga. It's an awesome touch if you're a fan of the hobby or just want something interesting to browse while waiting for your order. As for the food, I had to try the classic maid cafe staple: the omurice. I ordered the curry omurice, complete with the signature cute ketchup art drawn right on the egg. It was hearty, flavorful, and definitely hit the spot. We also tried a couple of their specialty iced espresso drinks, including the tiramisu latte. They were topped generously with whipped cream and tasty crumbles. The drinks are definitely on the richer, sweeter side, making them feel like a dessert in themselves. If you're into Japanese gaming and anime culture, or just looking for a cafe experience that's a bit out of the ordinary with fantastic service and indulgent drinks, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

I had to ring the bell for her to acknowledge us again to take our order. We ordered the omurice and pork katsu. I think overall it's an okay experience that I don't think much of and would not really need to return to. Fast service otherwise and there was parking in the small lot.
