Well, we FINALLY Caught 'em! Catch Me If You Can LLC! Thought we'd catch 'em a lil early before the weekend rush, and we're so glad we did! Amanda Lowdermilk Longacre, all of your blood, sweat, tears and endless late nights of hard work is so evident in every teensie, tiny space. It's beyond amazing. The Cajun Queens of St. Charles Avenue got nothin on your decoratin skills dahlin! The Garden District could take a few pointers from our East Texas Catch me Queen! Ayeeee! There's so much to take in....the silver serving platters each could recount stories of church socials and fancy soirées from a past life. The green Cajun Queen who greets you on the front side...what did we name her? Is it Queen Gertie Gator? I can't remember her name, but you just can't forget that bee-you-te-ful smile! The restrooms...tres chic! All the decor is knock out! But now.... The main event. The reason you all stopped by and are taking the time to read this lil ditty... !!!!THE FOOD!!!!! We both decided to be somewhat good this time, so we opted for the grilled plates. I just gotta say, the fish, the shrimp, the veggies and rice...All were cooked to absolute perfection and perfectly seasoned with the exact amount of Cajun spicy deliciousness! The fish was moist ( sorry for those who hate that word, but it was!) and flaky, the shrimp perfectly cooked. The veggies were sautéed al dente, leaving just a hint of crunch. And that rice...that dirty, Cajun rice... lemme just say. This girl DOES NOT DO LIVER!!! But guess what? Authentic, Cajun Dirty rice has liver in it. Yep, it does, but THIS dirty rice...I could eat this stuff all day long! It is the best Cajun dirty rice this side of the mother of all Cajun dirty rice New Orleans herself! The flavor is spot on, and even tho I KNOW there's nasty lil liver in there, it is hidden so well it only makes the rice taste better. Seriously. I'mma not gonna lie to ya. But if you don't want your rice, dats okay. I'll take yours, and his, too! The other folks who were dining while we were there were all raving about how good their dishes were. One couple had just stopped by on a whim and ordered swamp fries and they couldn't believe how good they were! So, to sum this all up, y'all need to go get yer britches on and head on down to Catch me if you can on 155 and check 'Em out for yourselves. I'mma gonna warn you, tho. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, pack yourselves some extra beers and dranks in your cooler because they're gonna be busier than a mosquito at a nudist colony! The cashier was the rudest, most hateful condescending, ignorant female I've encountered in a while. She set up our dining experience to be one of misery. Although the food was descent, we will not return. I refuse to pay someone to treat me bad or reward bad behavior with my hard earned money. read more

Drove one hour to eat craw fish stood in line for 20 minutes in line just to be told they were out of craw fish at 3pm don't get me the other dishes were well made and weren't like a small little portion yet the service was very slow the cooks shut down the kitchen early and we had got our food 45 minutes apart instead of taking it all out at one we were hit with little by little and it was very cold this day but there was lucky three propane heaters you think they would keep us warm but they weren't doing nothing turned off three heater and not one on are you kidding me read more

Oh my goodness! My husband and I are relatively new to Tyler. We decided to try a new restaurant every week. Today we tried Catch Me If You Can. I had the whole catfish dinner, hubby had tge chicken fried chicken, and our little got the cheese quesadilla. The food was reasonably priced, and absolutely fantastic! We definitely will be going back and I highly recommend this place. It's a lot easier to get in around lunch or early afternoon but worth the wait at night! What can I say about this place. Well I love the food and the atmosphere along with the people that work here. The best chicken fried steak there is hands down. The fried fish so so good and crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The wife loves the swamp fries ( severs 4 people). You get lots to eat for your money. The owner does weekly specials so it not always the same old same old menu. Not that menu does not have a lot of great food it does for sure. So if you're looking for some great food and great service this is your place. They have live music and karaoke on some nights. You can bring your own adult drinks and belly up give it a try. Hunt down this food truck. My brother looked up the location and they were at Christus hospital parking lot that day. We quickly got our food to go and took it to the atrium downtown and got sodas there. We shared the swamp fries. $20 so unusual but very Cajun yummy. Fries, cheese, red beans & rice, shrimp, sausage and chicken. Wow! We also got a shrimp poboy that came with fries. We wish we had tried the cheesy boudin egg rolls and we definitely will next time. The mashed potatoes...I hate saying this but their mashed potatoes are better than mine. The whole place is spotlessly clean and the staff are very nice. I tried the grilled fish and shrimp w/dirty rice, grilled zucchini, and squash, and nothing at this restaurant ever disappoints!!! Have heard so many good things about this place and finally dropped by for a late lunch today. It was as good as advertised ! Staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our meal. My wife had fish fillets which were huge and cooked to perfection ! I tried the Friday special of 1 lb of boiled shrimp with corn and red potatoes and was absolutely great ! Also tried their onion rings which were as good as I've ever had and fried to perfection as well. We definitely needed two to go boxes for plenty of leftovers that we simply could just not finish ! I wanted to try their gumbo which I was craving but will definitely try on our next return. There are other choices I would like to explore also. Can't wait for our next time to dine here. This is without a doubt the best Cajun food in the Tyler area! Don't miss out on this family owned gem. The egg rolls are stupid good and the dirty rice is the best i've ever had. Grilled Fish is crazy moist and generously portioned. Two of the people I came with both loved their salads and said the shrimp was seasoned perfectly. I had the swamp fries out of the food truck a while back, they are worth every penny and may be the best loaded fries I've ever had. read more

Not good...came from out of town and saw all the reviews and posts about it. Since it was close to where we were staying we decided to give it a try. We got the gumbo birria tacos, Cajun pasta, and Cajun egg rolls...all were TRASH! No flavor and just plain nasty. Only thing decent was the fried fish my son got. My coworker told me and a couple of others about the truck, so we decided to give it a try. As a person whose family is from Louisiana,there is nothing Cajun or Creole about this food at all. First off, I had the Boudin egg rolls that was mostly cream cheese and just a tiny bit of unseasoned rice that was supposed to be Boudin, just awful. I then tried the "gumbo" which was so dark, it looked burnt. Any true Louisiana native know that you do not put tomatoes and some sort of meat that looked like strips of beef in your "chicken and sausage" gumbo. The base of it tasted like a box roux or kitchen bouquet, just awful. The shrimp po boy my co worker got looked burnt and when I asked her how it tasted, she said it was just OK. Excellent homemade seafood. Everything we have tried has been amazing! The homemade sauces are really good also.
