Came here for Das Bunker and it was a lot of fun! They have several themed rooms that give off a different vibe so you're never bored. Make sure to stick with your group though, you can easily get lost if you're not used to the place. They have multiple bar areas throughout the whole place. Drinks are pricey but strong. They also have an area where you can order food! I got an order of mozzarella sticks and it was served hot and tasty. Portions are generous too. Great experience overall!

First time at Catch One. Hella trendy spot with several clubs/events taking place at the same time. Line around the corner for one club. Luckily, we were at Catch One for Remix Rumble The Wrestling Nightclub and there was a very short line. Look for street parking down the road. Walking a couple blocks is worth not spending $40 to park in the neighboring parking lot. Small club. Friendly bartenders. Sticky floors. There was only one unisex bathroom available for a portion of the evening. Could have been quite the problem but the line moved pretty well. The very few women in the club were happy when the bathrooms in the back of the club opened up. I've heard the event spaces are used for a variety of clubs, events, pop ups etc. Would love to see how the spaces are transformed for other occasions.

Honestly my favorite venue out of the millions I've been to. There were many different rooms and all of them had cool interior and lights. In the bar area, there were TVs that projected the stage, so you weren't missing out. All the staff were great, the bartender was very generous with the shots and drinks (the shots were strong), and honestly a 5/5.

The wings are fire and good vibes! When I drive by every weekend it's always packed. Parking is the only problem, so I suggest using Uber

Ask the Community - Catch One

When are the BDSM shows? Also when are the hello kitty raves?

    Is there a dress code?

No. For men they're more lax than other, bougier clubs. I've gone in wearing tank tops before. It's another reason why I like this place so much.

How is the parking in this area on a Friday night?

Parking always sucks, but you can always find some parking a few blocks away behind the venue.

Is there a cover fee to get in?

Yes it depends what night is it or event 10-25 bucks

Would a 17 year old be allowed in for a concert?

Don't think so unfortunately, you should call to confirm.

Is catch one a gay bar?

It was originally but came under new ownership in 2015 by Mitch Edelson and was renamed "The Union". They have LGBTQ nights on occasions with a decent-sized audience.

Does anyone know if you can show your school ID at the door even if you're 18+? I'm asking cause I lost my license

The live music was incredible, the guy playing the sax really knows how to jam. The dancers and musicians were performing together, and did several shows! There's this magical connection between a musician and a dancer that you see and feel as they improvise and work the crowd, the stage, and the whole venue. In between performances there was social dancing, with a lot of great dancers dressed to the nines. The birthday cake performance is something you got to see and experience, totally off the charts, like something you'd see in a movie! The final performance is with a giant martini glass. The girl dances around/in the glass filled with water and then pours champagne all over herself. One of the most wild over the top things I've ever seen! The energy and vibes were off the hook! I highly recommend this for couples that want a special date night, large groups that want a unique experience/entertainment, and people who want to celebrate their birthday in style.

I am confused. Yelp says the Mayan is closed. Mapquest says the Mayan is closed. But this past…read moreweekend I was there-- not as a trespasser- but as a dancer and reveler- with a whole lots of other movers and shakers. So what is the answer? How can we resolve the confusion? La Santa might be the answer. They are the club promoters who brought the Mayan back to life, at least for a night. And let me be the first person who takes it to Yelp, to say that this party was, lit! I got there early because I wanted to get in, and move my feet as soon as I could. I did not fancy just standing in line waiting for my opportunity to thrive on the dance floor. But still I waited in the line. The doors opened at 1000 p.m. but I did not get in until like 1040. Being part of the line, however, is part of the experience. People meet in line, conversations are overheard in line, and in general, being in line at the club is an opportunity to experience the goers as they wait, which is really different, then goers move to music. I paidy 60 dollars to get in. I took a shot in the foot because I did not pay for the tickets on advance. Live, and learn, and get pre-tickets, as well as diapers before they are needed. A La Santa party at the Mayan is a full blown event. I have been to clubs in my life, not many, it was never my go to option, but here I saw club theatrics that were stale in theory but lively in practice. For instance, I guy made it rain. He was in a table, I guess they cost a lot of money to book. And he took out this wad of cash, which I saw were all singles. And he threw the cash into the air, but it did not go far. He was in the first floor, he did not have the height to make the cash flow with the winds. So instead it fell, not like confetti, but like sad streamers who did not fly to the air. At first I thought it was monopoly money, it is not until I saw it on the floor that I understood what it meant. I picked a few dolllars up so I could say that I did. I did not know that they were meant to be left on the ground. Eventually, I saw someone pick them up in a bucket, but not the ones in the dance floor just the ones near the viciinty of the table. Being in a room with a lot of people dancing, actual confetti falling, smoke guns being used, lasers being strong and flirty and everywhere, took me from my mind into the moment. The spectacle around me could not be ignored, of course, but more importantly it was immersive. I was no longer at a club trying to have a good time, the club had infused me with a good time. And for anyone trying to escape the woe of their daily grind, this kind of moment is worth more than 60 dollars, but still, it cannot be purchased with intent, some money has to be spent. I think my favorite moments came when masked performers danced and used gun smokes, and their own light-up costumes, to make the party, a bouncing blast. As I look back at the videos, I realize that the noise and spectacle of the moment was evident and communicative just with the videos. I am not sure if I am reliving the fun, or, if the videos communicate the fun anew. THe difference being that a new person, would know the fun to be had, as I do, regardless of whether they were there or not. I guess, to truly remember the fun, through out your whole body and chest you had to be there. The videos still communicate the romp though, me thinks. The drag of the night were the long lines to get a drink. I once watched a tv show where the newly appointed king of hell made all tortures singular: wait in line, like in the DMV, and when one gets to the front, the line starts a new. The bar lines made me think of that. Unlike the line to get in, these lines were clearer barrier to a good time, because they were like an hour long, with no clear shape or direction. They were just long and tedious. And if one likes to sip, then liquor goes fast, but the line does not. So I suggest you act accordingly or accept that drinks will be a wait that requires more than patience, but acceptance. There were a lot of people to see too. I am sure that in the sea of party goes any person will find someone that they find fun to hangout with or imagine how it would be fun if they hang out, and then some.

The Mayan apparently closed its doors over a year ago and now has re-opened. I went on Friday night…read more(02/202026) to see Moenia MX with a friend and from what I've researched this may have been the first event at The Mayan that I can find since the closure. If this was indeed the first event for reopening they didn't really make any announcements about it, nobody mentioned anything about reopening and no excitement about it, the band playing wasn't even displayed on the sign above outside! Online tickets are either General, or VIP. It seemed like most of the line was VIP. The perk of being VIP is you get to enter before the general admission people, and let me tell you, the line is LONG so you want to arrive and stand in line early to get in first. Once you are in, it's not really assigned seats, you can go anywhere you want, so there's standing room right in front of the stage but then you'll be standing for hours, or you can go upstairs and sit which is what my friend and I did, we went to sit in the first row of the "bleachers" for lack of a better word. The seats feel like high school bleachers made of concrete, they are not too comfortable, BUT the venue is very spacious and can hold hundreds of people. Lighting is awesome and the sound system is very loud, however on this night, the sound system was giving feedback randomly and the music and singer's voices were not done justice with the acoustics there. What is really awesome and amazing is the design of the building and all the designs on the walls, this is truly why this place is called The Mayan. Just the structure on the ceiling is very amazing to look up at. Also, Moenia was very late to arrive, after the opener played, there was over an hour of nothing, we just listened to youtube music playing on the big screen, which apparently were all the classics because everyone was just relaxed and rocking out singing with the youtube. Finally someone came on the microphone to tell us Moenia was stuck in traffic somewhere on the 10 to 405 and would be arriving in 10 minutes. I think it would have been nice to be given an update an hour previously so we weren't just wondering. Even so, the crowd was very very chill, happy, and laid back, everyone was having fun rocking out to the youtube music on the big screen and singing along, nobody really seemed to be bothered by the lateness, and by the time the band arrived everyone was very happy to see them. This brings me back to what I mentioned above with the standing room by the stage, can you imagine standing there for hours waiting for the band to arrive? It's nice to be close to the band, but I'm grateful that we sat upstairs. If you are hungry before or after the show, there is a taco stand on the corner of 11th across the street from The Mayan called Nikki's Tacos. They do not have a yelp but they mentioned they have been around for two years. I tried their chicken burrito and a hibiscus tea, and my friend and I shared the hot cheetos nacho fries before going to stand in line, and it was absolutely delicious food, I definitely recommend. I think that eating that before getting in line gave us the energy to withstand the wait! Hopefully as The Mayan gets more shows going hopefully they will polish up all those snags in the road that I mentioned above. The place is pretty awesome and it would be nice to have a place like this to go to for events more often.
