So me and my family decided to go out to eat at catch seafood. It seemed pretty decent online until we got there. The floors were sticky and the lights were very dark. Not only that but the food was horrible. It was soggy and cold and my sides were piled under mountains of pop corn shrimp. Even better I saw a roach, It crawled from under the table and after that I lost my appetite. My family and I were sitting by the server section and we over heard profanity and very vulgar conversations as well as vaping! They didn't even hide it. Why only three stars? They do an excellent job of serving well prepared tasty seafood at very affordable prices. This is one of the rare places where we will order and enjoy some fried food. The breading is light and tasty with no grease. Portions are generous, we never finish even a lunch sized plate. So what's not to like? The ongoing renovation makes the decor unappealing. What has been finished is encouraging. New tables, chairs, better booths, good ceiling, lights, all point to a bright future. No, it is not a white tablecloth, fancy place like Blue Marlin, but it is a great local seafood place that has been serving really good food in Lexington for 10 years. TONS of food for a very fair price (too low to be honest for all you get). In fact I would recommend you get 1 meal and split it for most meals. The Catfish filet meal today ($8.99) had FOUR very large pieces of catfish, and a plate FULL of fries and some cole slaw. We easily could have feed two adults with it. And do not even get me started with all you get for $13 when you get the Seafood Platter! It is NUTS! Great family place. REALLY good service from very friendly staff. I will be back. read more

We read so many reviews about how good the food and service was and let me tell you it was HORRIBLE... Our server, Kelly was slooooow. It took about 20 minutes to get our appetizer and 8 mins afterwards came our food. Keeping in mind there was only 7 tables of customers so it was NOT busy at all. The calamari was lightly breaded, fresh and served immediately after cooking - very tender, hot & yummy. Tried this place for the first time last night. They were offering a Valentines special for $50. We got the Calamari app, two salads with homemade dressings, perfectly cooked prime rib with bread and a side, and a desert platter. It even included a drink. Portions were large and the food was amazing. I'll admit I expected this restaurant in Lexington to stink like the majority of restaurants here but it didn't. The waitress Kelly was phenomenal. From the menu it says they run specials during the week for $10 of various seafood fare which looked and smelled amazing on other diners plates. The decor is nice inside too. Went in for a couple of drinks last night because it was very close to hotel. Saw the seafood platters being delivered and they were HUGE. Could not believe that much food at a very modest price. However, I'd had a late lunch and that much food would have been a waste. I did get Bang Bang shrimp appetizer and White Chocolate Raspberry cake to go. Both were fantastic. Have been here a number of times with a group. For some reason, this time they made the entire group of seniors stand in the "lobby" until everyone was there. When questioning the manager, she very condescendingly pointed to the sign on the podium. When I explained that we just wanted to get these people seated, not served, she pointed to the sign again and said that it will confuse the staff. ?!? No way in anyway will I come back. I interviewed on of the servers. First off, when it comes to tea, they just fill up a bucket in the morning and pull from the same buck all day. Next, there is roaches. Everywhere. All over the place, including the kitchen. The servers are really good people, which gives it an extra star. The people are very nice. The food, however is really stupidly overpriced for what you get. It's not bad tasting food, however giving the conditions leading to the meal I say it's not worth it. Even to try it. Although they don't take reservations, we called ahead to let them know we had a party of 10 coming in when the opened on Sunday, 8/15. My sister and brother-in-law have been to The Catch before and had asked for a specific server whom they liked when she came originally called. We were the 2nd group in line when the doors were unlocked. The first people in line was a two top and they were seated. We notified them that our party of 8 was there and that 2 of the 10 weren't coming so our whole party was there. The hostess said to stand to the side while they get our table ready. I would think they should have had our table all ready because we had called and notified them we were coming ahead of time. Anyhow, we stand to the side for at least 20 minutes while they seat everyone else that had been waiting in the line. Finally, I went to the hostess stand and asked when we'd be seated. She said we'd be seated when our whole party was there. I told her, again, that our whole party was there. She went and talked to someone, then came back to seat us. Our waitress already had what looked like a 20 top, us 8 and told us she had a whole section in the main dining room where she had another party. She took our drink order, then appetizers and after we had eaten our appetizers, which were very good, I asked if we could order. She gave me a dirty look and told me that her first large party hadn't ordered yet and walked away. Now you have to understand, me, my sister and my daughter, who was there as well, all have at least 30 years of history as waitresses. Just because the other table hadn't ordered yet wasn't our problem, we had finished our appetizers and were ready to order. And as a waitress, we'd never have said that to a table. In a few minutes she came right back, not looking happy, and took our order. Or salads came, which do not come with your meals, you have to pay extra and we ate them. I hate eating at restaurants that don't serve salads with meals and up charge you for one. The meals come with coleslaw and these torpedo looking things that are supposed to be hush puppies; however, they taste blah, more like a torpedo shaped corn roll. Anyhow, give your customers the option of a salad over the coleslaw, please, instead of the up charge. So we eat our salads and wait and wait and wait. In the meantime, our waitress was sat two 4 tops and another party of 12 or more people at least. So at this time, she's probably serving nearly 50- 60 people at least. Impossible for one waitress to do at a full service restaurant. I don't blame our waitress for being sat so many people, but I do feel she was overwhelmed and let our table know it through her actions and words. When our dinners finally got there, a young man brought them to our table. There's nothing worse then being asked who had this meal or who had that meal and giving them to someone at the table to pass doan the table to whoever the dinner was for. My brother-in-law had ordered a rare hamburger, which came out well done and cold. Every meal at our table wasn't hot, some were lukewarm, mine was downright cold but, I didn't say anything to our waitress because God knows how long it'd take to get it warmed up plus, my ribeye was ordered medium rare and came to me medium well. So had they warmed it up, it'd be way overcooked. The corn tasted like frozen corn you'd get at the frozen food section at the grocery's store. My potato cold and dry. We had brought a cake in, for my Mom's 82nd birthday, and some balloons on sticks which we had asked our server when we arrived to stick in the cake before she served it. Well, another waitress brought out the cake and, you got it, no balloons. No plates or forks to eat the cake with either. So we literally wiped our appetizer plates, that we had already used, off with napkins and used them for the cake. I had to eat my cake with a knife! I've been so excited to try this restaurant and I was totally disappointed on this trip, my first visit there. With our waitressing experience, I sympathize with our waitress getting sat 4 parties, 3 of which had 15 people or more at them, two 4 tops on top of a regular section in the dining room, but there should have been a manager around watching this and not allowing it. My husband, daughter and I will never be back, nor will we recommend The Catch to anyone. The only good thing about our visit was the appetizers. I am being a bit generous with 3 stars because of their efforts in renovating this old Quincey's. I truly hope they renovate the menu as well. Though my partner and myself grew up on southern fried "Fish Camps" we don't eat much fried seafood. If you don't either, do not eat here. If you do like it fried you may find something you like! I had the broiled scallops and jumbo shrimp and it is just not adviseable to order this when you are sitting so far from the ocean. Did these items come from a can? The jury is still out. My LP loves anything crab, except deviled crab...because, well just because. She ordered crab stuffed jumbo shrimp. Guess what they should call it? Deviled crab stuffed shrimp. Ugh. Bless their hearts they tried hard. The service was good but oh my gosh the food was horrible. I've never had fried green tomatoes cooked this way. They were dipped in a tasteless batter and deep fried. Served greasy and hot with an equally tasteless aioli. We sent them back. The manager did come out and asked if we wanted another appetizer to which we declined. I got the fried shellfish plater and my wife got the crab stuffed tilapia. Out server, though very nice, was not on top of her game for whatever reason. Let me start off by saying, the renovations look awesome and the bar looks very appealing. The restaurant had a clean and inviting atmosphere. We started our dinner off with the seafood dip and pita bread which was awesome! My boyfriend got the fried seafood platter and I got the broiled crab cake and scallop dinner. Everything was great food wise! Price point is affordable too. Why I gave 4 stars out of 5 was because of the front desk staff. We had never been before and when we walked in the hostess immediately says "how many is eating"? Not a welcome to Catch, how many will be dining. It was very unprofessional and poor customer service on that end. Our server also spoke maybe 5 words to us. All in all I would recommend to others and eat here again, I just think the owners might want to tweak the front house staff and hire a more friendly wait staff.
