I bookmarked them a year or 2 ago, I dropped by last night for some quick take out. I ran in right around closing time and they were still packed with a steady stream of dine in and take out customers and uber pickups! I ordered a fried catfish filet and shrimp combo. I received my food in like 7mins. Everything was fresh and hot. Service was cool. The restaurant appeared clean. I ate in the car and the food needed seasoning, it was bland. I could've used hot sauce too. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return, but I'm gladI got to try them out!

Man, do I love a whole catfish. First time here, but the food was really good in service was awesome. As you can tell, not fancy at all, but they certainly stay in their lane with what they do best.

Best location for whole catfish. I order takeout and it's ready when I get there. I always request extra well done. I prefer crispy over soft catfish. The onion rings are good, also.

This was my FIRST time coming here. We getting my car fixed and seen this gem only .3 miles away so we decided to walk to kill time(it started raining while walking). Once we got there I was soo surprised that they had a large menu. We wanted something light because we had other things to do and didn't want to be soo full, we get sleepy..lol We ended up ordering the fried green tomatoes(OMG they were my top 3) very flavorful the dipping saiss(was definitely homemade) they were cut perfectly, not too thick or thin in size. The fried fish(mouth watering) the fish was seasoned perfectly the light crush when your teeth hits the fish. Top 3 as well with the fish. The was reasonably priced great. $3.50 for 1 piece of fish(real catfish) This a must pull up restaurant! Will be back to the other things from the Menu.

If I could give "0" stars then I would. This meal was horrible. It's obvious all the good reviews were given by family and friends of the establishment. The fish tasted muddy or dirty and the crawfish tails were more cornmeal than crawfish. The hush puppies appeared to be soaked in grease and the coleslaw was... well it just was. I can't recommend this place and positive I'll never go back. read more

I'm driving around Irving with the family not really thinking about food when I saw this place. Memories from 16-18 years ago come flooding back. It's the old Top Kat place. So we pull over. It has basically the same blue decor and setup. The food was perfectly fried and the jalapeño hush puppies were the kind that melt in your mouth. It's got a different name but the same great food. We'll be back soon. read more

The food was awesome! We drove all the way from Grand Prairie to get some half food fish. I was please with the shrimp and fish platters my family got. It would get a 5 but the left a piece of shrimp and two pcs of fish when we got back home. The lemon chess pie which is home made but distributed from a man in Red Oak on the package I think. I will have my husband order me fish again from this place even though the shorted us I will just check out food but the other pecan pies , and key lime look good! They even have hot wings real hot wings and frog leg platter ! read more

Fish and shrimp taste like it wasn't cleaned properly before frying. It gave a really strong after taste. We also tried bread pudding, it taste like it was frozen previously. The cashier was very nice. The only reason I gave 1 star. read more

Good, fresh food at a reasonable price. I had the catfish fillets and a baked potato. The catfish seasoning was basic - not the most flavorful I've had - but definitely the fish was fresh and light. I'd definitely come back and explore their menu more. read more

Per the reviews I expected this to be a "hidden gem", not a great location and the inside does not look or feel very clean. The catfish and fried shrimp I got didn't make up for it, the price isn't that great either, sooo... hidden? Yes. A gem? Nah. read more

I've been eating here since it was Top Cat. I always remember friendly inviting customer service but now that it has new owners I have experienced some not so friendly customer service. The meals are no longer well proportioned either. I always order the 6 to 12 catfish filet meal and we are always given very little fries, hushpuppies, and only 2 ketchups and 2 tartar sauces. When I ordered tonight I received the usual small amount of fries and they were hard enough to break a tooth. I have attached a couple of pics. read more

The person taking my order didn't pay attention when I asked for the 2pc fish & shrimp basket and rang me up for a 1pc instead. After the waitress brought my food to me, I went to the counter to confirm my order & learned of the mistake. Well, he should've charged me the difference & gave me what I ordered & not what he thought I ordered, but he wanted to charge me for buying a single pc of catfish or an add on. I respectfully declined, ate my food & vowed to never set foot back in there again! read more

So delicious!!! Nothing else needs to be said. The fried fish is crisp and clean and the salmon is cooked perfectly with a little spice. Salmon comes with veggies and rice, so yummy! We order her anytime we're in the mood for fish in Irving. It's the best around. read more

Was planning on trying lees catfish on Ash Wednesday but when I called they were out of shrimp so we ended up at CATFISH HOUSE! It was delicious catfish was great shrimp are huge hush puppies had good flavor fries were good overall great experience we will be back! read more

Upon entering this establishment, I was more enthusiastic than the guy behind the counter. He really put a damper on the entire scene. This place is what I call kinda clean and more dirty. I ordered the two piece catfish filet basket. If I'm not mistaken the fish was frozen and not seasoned very well. The fries were ok - nothing special. My wife ordered the six piece wings and they were not very good. We were charged for water...water. The waitress was pleasant but we will not be returning. Too many great places to eat catfish besides this joint. read more

That's how you build loyalty and keep people coming back. To make things worse, the worker who remade the drink also seemed upset, acting like it was coming out of her own pocket--making comments like "bruh" to her coworker. Overall, the customer service left a really bad impression. A simple, kind response from the manager could've turned this experience around completely.

I chose it because the description said the oysters are "topped with bone marrow butter". That, combined with the roasted breadcrumbs, added a nice crunchy and smooth texture to the delicious oysters. For my main, I went with the Salmon St. Harve. This beautiful dish had a perfectly prepared salmon. Soft and flaky, but with a crunch from the skin at the bottom. It was served on top of grilled asparagus and topped with a cream sauce that brought everything together. Delicious. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's not a secret that I love Water Street. The vinaigrette leaned very citrusy, which overpowered the dish a bit, but I couldn't help thinking that adding some goat cheese would balance it beautifully and elevate the whole plate. Then came the pasta bolognese... and that's where things went downhill fast. The ricotta was completely flavorless, the meat was tough, and overall the dish lacked seasoning. It was honestly one of the most disappointing bolognese dishes I've had. One more thing that really stood out: the interior has carpet flooring. In a food establishment, that feels deeply unhygienic and off-putting. 1/5 stars -- a strong start with the appetizer, but the main course and overall experience completely missed the mark.

On my last visit I left very satisfied and full , I took a friend who loves catfish and she loved the 3 fillets plate the hushpuppies were awesome and the food was hot and very good like always I drive from Carrollton because I like this location better they have plenty of parking and the service is so much better.
