Bacon egg and cheese burrito and salsa
    Gabriel G.

I just ordered 2 breakfast burritos and I must say I am very pleased. If you look at the photos in this app there is a phone number on the breakfast menu. I called ahead of time and ordered a bacon egg and cheese and a potato egg and cheese. Both were delicious. Nothing better then convenient homemade food. I also like that this is a local business and even people walking in we're saying hello to Albert who I believe is the cook and the owner. This is obviously a place with regulars. Give them a try, support local business. You won't regret it!

The cook from the previous restaurant in this location pappy's is the one that owns and runs this new restaurant. So the catfish is the same as Pappy's. I had the catfish nuggets they are extremely well seasoned and had the perfect crispness to them. I was extremely impressed with the fresh cut french fries. The fries are not frozen! You could tell the potatoes were cut fresh and fried in that definitely comes through in the flavor. I can never understand why so many restaurants use a frozen french fry :-( however Rico's uses fresh cut fries! :-) so no need to be disappointed in some other restaurants said Frozen fries, just come to Rico's and enjoy in house fresh cut french fries! I was very impressed with the remodel of the restaurant, the decor was much more modern in up-to-date and the restaurant is extremely clean. It is nothing like the previous business in this location when it comes to cleanliness and decor. They have done an amazing job turning around that building in putting in a very modern well decorated in extremely clean restaurant in that space. I am anxious to go back and try some of the new Mexican food dishes on the menu. Rico's is a definite place for lunch or dinner. To be completely honest we did try the breakfast and was not impressed at all, we will not be back for breakfast. But for dinner we are 100% going to be there again! The fried catfish in the fresh cut french fries absolutely cannot be missed. They now serve chips and salsa at the table when you come in, the chips are fresh made in house, and are very good. The chips are extremely thin and crispy and you can still see the hot glistening oil because they're freshly made right before they're brought out to the table. The hot sauce is excellent! But be cautious because the two times that we've had it it was extremely spicy. :-) but then I love a very spicy hot sauce so I was in heaven! The hot sauce has great flavor!! Once I go back and try the Mexican food on the menu I'll update this review. Definitely make a point of coming and trying Rico's and supporting a new family owned restaurant in South Irving. You will not regret eating here!

Young, high-energy staff and everybody was friendly. I had an adorable little waitress who was possibly high as a kite. But flower high, not the bad stuff. Honestly, it worked in everybody's favor. She was upbeat, extremely polite, and got my order right. I'm happy. The menu is one of those long double-sided laminated things with probably 50+ breakfast choices. Everybody should be able to find something. Prices looked to range around $10-17 per entrée, and the portions were solid. They also had a bunch of turkey and chicken sausage options for non-pork eaters like myself. I ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns, scrambled cheese eggs with onions mixed into the eggs and hash browns, plus two pancakes. Around $15. Pardon the food pics. I forgot to take them until I had already loaded everything up with every sauce known to man: ketchup, hot sauce, gravy, syrup... probably a few others. I definitely recommend this place. A gem.

Nice and crispy in all the right places. Nothing to frown at especially for the price x

This review focuses on the Las Colinas location. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Yolk - Las Colinas is located in a new area in Irving-Las Colinas with plenty of parking. Inside it's open with plenty of seating (some outdoors too), has Yolk's bright blue and yellow colors, but my favorite features are the big windows which let in the the sun's natural light. 1 Star. Service - Our server was great. She was very attentive and made sure we always had our mugs filled with coffee. I appreciated the friendly service that was all smiles. 1 Star. Food - Yolk's menu has classic breakfast and brunch options but be sure you check to table for coffee specials. I ordered an Iced Apple Pie Latte that was served in a glass mason jar. This small detail allowed the Apple flavor to start my breakfast on a high note. Speaking of which, my Breakfast Mac & Cheese caught my attention when it was served in a skillet. I intended to only eat half, but the smokey ham paired with the creamy mac & cheese under a light panko layer was too delicious for me to stop. The prices are a bit on the high side, but otherwise a geat meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. DFW is getting many great breakfast/brunch spots like Yolk. If you're a big fan of breakfast (and travelling on expense), it's a great way to start your day. 1 Star.

Drafted review below: 5/29/26 The first time I went it was pretty nice , clearly good enough that I'd want to give them another try! Unfortunately, I should have tried somewhere new instead. For starters, we sat inside this time around. It's reminiscent of a cafeteria inside, the decor is okay, but it's SO loud and echoey. Patio seating is definitely the better choice. Our server, Crystal (according to the receipt) only came by twice. She didn't realize my food was overcooked and that we didn't have silverware because she never came back after taking our order. My friend had to get up to find silverware. The hostess helped us out, but the first set we were given was dirty so he actually had to get up again to get another one. We took about 30 minutes to finish up our meal and then waited for a while for our server to pop back up and offer us the check. $68 for 2 people and poor service. Not cool! -- My meal yesterday (also brunch) was so much more enjoyable, all around the same price point and in the same area. Bruncheon disappointed me on all counts - quality, service, and atmosphere.

You walk in a tiny hallway and bam traditional old school diner, we were seated right away! Everyone is so nice. Get the big giant menu but I already went to the "lighter side" section for healthy choice and ordered the poached eggs on English with a side of grits. We also ordered the basic omelette with the biscuit option. Served quick but enjoyed seeing some really delicious looking plates come out to other tables. My English mussin was literally perfect so thin too, poached eggs perfect, grits, OMG super yummy, omelette was perfect. Ok! Let's move on to the fresh made buttermilk biscuits and gravy. I must say for the record I hate gravy not even at thanksgiving but wanted to try this southern luxury. TO DIE FOR! And same with the biscuits, the very best I ever had and I ended up instead of tasting, I ate a whole biscuit! Yep I did and with the gravy! This is a must eat here place! If I could give 10 stars I would!

The whole place has that classic, comforting Texas charm -- nothing fancy, just great people serving great food. After a high‑energy concert, it was the perfect reset. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Tupelo Honey is a stand-alone restaurant conveniently located near Hwy 114 and 161. There's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seating. Speaking of the bar, it acts as a beautiful backdrop for the entire restaurant. 1 Star. Service - The service is always friendly. Our server is always smiling, and I can't help but feel welcome with southern charm. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.
