We love the Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters. Great food, except once in a while someone doesn't bake a batch of muffins long enough. Taste and texture are affected. Meanwhile 99% of the time, the pastries are great. I'm sure, after reading this review, the owner will talk to the staff and remind them a very pale muffin is an unbaked muffin. They make and bake their own goods. You can see them do it in their "open to the viewer" kitchen. The owner, James, is a certified chef. He teaches his staff how to bake and make coffee the right way. It is our go to breakfast treat...and sometimes lunch with company. The place is clean and peaceful, comfy to sit, read, to meet with friends, clients, to write, etc.. And they offer wifi...who doesn't these days. Give it a try. read more

The service was not welcoming. I came in with my friends, only 10 people, and the worker was annoyed that we wanted to place a large order with no warning. I ordered a bagel and it was very burnt, however still edible. Our drinks came out quickly, but on the negative side, they got 3 of our drinks wrong. Wow! It was because we did the Taste & Tales Food Tour in Inverness that we were shown AND treated to great food and drink! I only took 2 pictures because before I thought to take pictures of the awesome food, I had already eaten it up (or took a bite of it). This place is not only a coffee house but has 5 star food on their menu. We were provided: -roasted beet and goat cheese salad with goat cheese covered in pistachios, beets, and more. So yummy. Then a spinach and artichoke flatbread with creamy spinach, cheese, chicken and more. I inhaled this one it was so good. We're provided drinks alongside each food: -Lemonade tea with orange essence and passion fruit ! So yummy! -Gingerbread cookie latte -Cattle Dog cafe con leche -Hot apple cider And a ginger molasses cookie with pumpkin cream cheese filling. That I was able to get a picture of before I devoured it. We also picked up some coffee beans, K-Cups, tea and ground coffee. I cannot recommend these guys enough. It would be easy to miss this place if you only drive around the old courthouse museum and look at the small shops, so I recommend walking around and exploring fully. This place was open, coffee was incredible, prices are fair and the food phenomenal! Do not miss stopping by and having a bite to eat or a hot coffee and relax on their couches. 10/10 place!! Staff was super sweet and and quick service. I tried their white chocolate raspberry latte and it was amazing, plus the churro muffin thing was somehow even BETTER tasting than it looked! Also got a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and it was probably the best bagel I've ever had, super light and fluffy with a perfect crisp outside. Books all over the cafe for you to read. Definitely recommend coming by here and supporting a local business! read more

I mean... wow. Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters completely took me by surprise. When I walked up I expected a normal, cozy coffee shop. While the shop is cozy, calling it normal would be a disservice. When I walked in, I noticed this was more like a coffee wonderland. Cattle Dog is massive. Ample seating and an entire wall of freshly roasted beans, which will be great for you at home coffee makers. The staff was friendly. They explained their 3 different roasts that were being brewed that day. I had their drip coffee. Specifically, it was their dark roast. It was a really nice brew. Great flavor profile and perfectly balanced. It's a cup of coffee you're always happy to have. Affordable prices and quality coffee always makes for a successful experience. Next time I'm back, I will be strongly tempted to buy a shirt. read more

A bunch of us were cycling on a local bike trail & chose Cattle Dog to get revived on our 50-mile trip. The shop was very large, very clean, & full of a lot of fun items to peruse & buy. For lunch however, I chose a chicken salad sandwich & an iced latte. I asked what flavors I could add to the latte, & the woman at the counter said they have 60 flavors!! My favorite flavor in the world is amaretto so I asked if they had that. Keep in mind it is extremely rare that anyone carries that flavor. Well they had it & the latte was great. The chicken salad sandwich wasn't bad. It was white meat, a few cranberries & a couple walnuts. The brown bread was surprisingly soft & fresh & flavorful. My only complaint was that the chicken salad had way too much Mayo. All in all a solid place to visit when in Inverness. read more

Fantastic coffee shop! It's huge inside with a ton of seating. It would be easy to spend hours here and get some work done or have lunch date. They have plenty of outlets. Great coffee and Chia. Had their Cronuts only place that's has them locally! They're good but the topping is a bit much. Then again I'm not use to them having topping. Just a personal preference. I've had a sandwich from them once it was good can't really give an opinion as I was running around didn't give it much thought. It was good though. read more

Quaint coffee shop in the heart of Inverness. The chicken panini was pretty good and the jerk chicken biscuit bread sandwich was good too. The chicken was a bit dry. The jerk chicken was missing the jerk flavor, very plain. My older son said the cheese burger tasted like a sausage paddy. My youngest enjoyed his s'mores cookie. My husband liked his s'mores latte. I love Cattle Dog. This location is HUGE. They have live music frequently and it's a nice place to work from, kill some time or meet up with friends. I enjoy the creative coffee drinks available. I also enjoy their pastries and love that they make cronuts. However, I've had their lobster roll before and I had high hopes but unfortunately I was not a fan. Also, their cashiers are not friendly which is a shame. I hope the owner becomes aware of this so maybe some changes can be made. read more

Inverness is a small town, so I guess there isn't much to compare this spot to, but if I were to guess, this is probably one of the better spots for coffee in town. I got a small (12oz) almond milk latte. It was good, but it only comes with one shot of espresso, which I thought was alright, but I think I'm used to strong espresso and my latte with at least two shots, so it wasn't as strong as I hoped it would be. I would recommend adding an extra shot of espresso. The coffee was good, but nothing amazing to write home about. The customer service and staff were really nice as well. It was a bit surprising to me that no one was wearing masks, not even the barista. But then again, I'm an out-of-towner, so perhaps this is just the norm in the small town of Inverness. It doesn't bother me, but thought this would be worth pointing out for those who are sensitive about wearing masks and whatnot. Worth a stop in if you're in the area and in need of coffee, but wouldn't exactly go out of the way for it. read more

I've tried two dishes here. The Land & Sea and the Lobster Roll. I'm going back for both. The ingredients were fresh and delicious, the portions incredible for the price. I've also had their passion tea made with lemonade and orange flavor. It was bright, refreshing, and the perfect amount of sweetness. Just as incredible as the fare is the staff! Sheila is delightful; she's personable, meticulous, and really quite funny! She runs this place beautifully and the employees seem happy to be there every time I've gone in. The last point I want to touch on is the cleanliness. I tend to be particular when I'm out and about and this place hits every mark. This is a staff that cares not only about the quality of their offerings, but about the space in which they're prepared.
