In review myself and in response to others. The lanes are constantly receiving upgrades, updates and maintenance. Weekends are smoke free. League nights are not. Not everyone needs alcohol to have a good time. But too many like to misbehave when drinking. Between licensing and limitations on employee age to handle same, Sterling Lanes decision to be alcohol free is the right one. We love our lanes, we love our friends and neighbors. And we love to see everyone enjoying themselves. Come out and bowl, have a ball, and get to know a great group of people. The grill has some standard fair, and an ever changing bonus selection of delicious food. The fountain drinks are great. And the ice cream treats and others sweets are awesome. And a side note: the theatre has way more than four screens. And don't forget the arcade on the lanes side. read more

Where to start. Went here to bowl after work with a friend, had two malfunctioning lanes, and after a copious amount of time requesting thay they were fixed, was told to "cool your jets buddy, we don't do that for people". While the night manager, Josh, was very understanding of our problem, he still refused to comp our 30 minutes of waiting on two malfunctioning lanes, and instead gave us five dollars as a "refund" which was for the "five frames" we played in the span of an hour moving between two broken lanes. Disappointing experience and worse customer service. Bowling is dying and Sterling Lanes clearly doesn't want to keep it. As a business owner, I understand equipment isn't always going to behave, but more than that I understand you can't treat paying customers this way. I would highly recommend anyone looking to bowl here go elsewhere until these issues are taken care of. I know I, and everyone I know will. read more

Great bowling alley. Food is fresh and cooked fast. Great family atmosphere and reasonably priced as well. Staff always helpful. Bathrooms are immaculately clean even during busy hours. Plenty of house balls...pro shop has all added bowling equipment for the serious bowlers. My family comes with our own shoes and by next week we plan in having our new balls fitted and drilled. Super excited! Can't wait for the next time we go bowling (which we do at least 1x per week). read more

My family has gone bowling here during the holiday season for the past three years. It's mainly because we gather at my grandparent's home out in the hills and this is the closest place from them. It's pretty much your basic bowling alley, but it does share a building with a small cinema, I think it has 4 movie screens. So you can go bowling and to a movie without leaving the building. The alley has 16 lanes, a small arcade, and a snack kitchen with hot food like pizza and chicken tenders. The facility is older and that shows, but overall it does seem clean, but grungy. Don't be fooled by the non smoking signs, they have them posted, but they allow smoking and even pass out ash trays. If you take kids, I'd avoid going right before or during the league play as the place quickly fills with cigarette smoke. Overall this is a decent place to go if you need some entertainment, especially with a large group. Be sure to ask about group rates as we found that to be cheaper than paying for 4 lanes for an hour. read more

Sterling Lanes - 16 lanes of bowling - Bowling Near Me - Mount Sterling, Kentucky

I am going to have to give this place a big fat 3. I met my sister, her family, and some friends here a few weeks ago. Please note it is on the right side of the entrance. The main entrance is shared by the theater on the left. I guess this is the best place for entertainment in Mt Sterling. The place was PACKED. I had to park in the last isle, in the last row, beside the far entrance. When I got here, we were waiting for a lane. We probably stood about 15 minutes before a lane opened up. Then we paid $60 for a lane for 2 hours and that also paid for up to 8 shoe rentals. The shoes were quite new and sassy, not like the 12 different color neon ones at most places. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The only reason I am giving this place a 3 star rating is because they don't sell booze of any sort. No alcohol while bowling is a sin in my book. WTF? They do have a concession stand so you could purchase soda or water and random foods. My crew ended up getting pizza and onion rings. They said the food was good, but I didn't partake. I was protesting the lack of booze. LOL. I'll probably go back but be better prepared. read more
