I think the quality of this place went down. I got my usual Moon and Stars Ice cream with Puff Waffle ($10.99) and my friend got a scoop of Lavender Icecream (I think around $8). Both were not made with fresh Liquid Nitrogen. We didnt hear the machines running and our ice cream came out super quick. My ice cream looked very poorly made and the scoop was pretty small. The really hot waffle melted it super quick and parts of the waffle was a hit burnt. It might be a bit understandable if it was busy or understaffed or there was a rush but there was no one else there and 2 staff members working (mostly talking or on their phone). You can kinda see the difference of quality of the same thing I order with the pictures.
I've been to at least 3 different Cauldron Ice Cream locations and this is my least favorite. Maybe it was an off night when we came here, but the ice cream was not made fresh with liquid nitrogen like what Cauldron Ice Cream is known for and it was very icy feeling. The egg waffle that should complete the overall look of the product was also soggy and not crispy at all. While I'm happy there's a Cauldron Ice Cream near me now, I'm disappointed in the quality of the overall product and would rather venture to the San Jose location to fill my craving.
The ice cream & puffle was super yummy and they have unique flavors here! You get to see them make your ice cream, which was a cool experience. The service was quick and they were super nice. The inside is aesthetically pleasing as well! I would recommend and come again. Overall, a great dessert place.
It's a takeout ice cream place. Ice cream made with nitro adds to its mystical flavors. It's quite sweet tho even for sweet tooth like mine. Did I say the flavors were intense. Here it is again: Great tastes. The robotics just adds to the drama but it's a wait... 10 minutes; so not a scoop and go situation. One minor flaw is the cone itself. Eggette waffle cone is subpar... too much flour & not crunchy enough. Otherwise, it'll b perfect.
Cool to see the ice cream being made in front of us. It's a bit pricy. It's not usual ice cream and tastes softer than gelato. It's not very sweet either, which I appreciate.
They have such interesting flavors here. I loved the pineapple one the most. The bubble waffles also seemed to hold up after a few minutes, meaning they didn't get too soggy. It might have been the wrapper keeping it together. I usually still use a spoon to eat the ice cream. The place is generally quiet. I've never seen it super packed, maybe one or two other groups while I'm there. There are a few tables with seats and a bathroom in the back. It's kinda fun watching them make the ice cream with the dry ice effect going on. Self service kiosk, so I can't speak too much about the service. Plenty of parking!
I have always been a fan of Cauldron ice cream ever since their first location in Santa Ana. I recently got to check out the Fremont location and ordered my favorite flavor, the milk and cereal. It's creamy, smooth and love the crunch from the cereal. The location is narrow but has a good amount of seating. You can order on the kiosk and then watch your ice cream be freshly made in the mixing stands. It's fun to watch as well. My friends loved the flavors that they ordered and the bubble waffle was crispy and warm but it will melt your ice cream really quick lol. Definitely a great dessert stop off Mission Boulevard away from all the chaos.
Cute flower shaped ice cream. Plenty of seating and bright. Has a cute neon sign by the door. Service was as expected. Order and the register and wait for them to make your order. Got the cauldron and it was yummy. Wish the Oreo pieces were a bit bigger instead of it being sprinkled on. But still it was good. Also tried the Vietnamese coffee ice cream and it tasted like coffee. not super overpowering which is good balance.
Nice guy working here tonight. Made us a fresh puffle cone for my daughter's rose ice cream. I tried their butterscotch flavor which was already made. He made a new batch of the rose flavor for hers with the liquid nitrogen which was really cool for us to watch. The puff cone was good - not too sweet, same with the ice cream. The rose flavor is pretty unique. Will try their early gray lavender or Vietnamese coffee next time.
We dropped by after dinner for some dessert! The ice cream itself I'd say was good, but not much more amazing than standard ice cream. Good variety of flavors and pretty rose presentation. The puffle was a good pairing with the ice cream. The service was quick but a bit unfriendly. Nice convenient ice cream shop of your are already in the plaza.

Stumbled upon this place while passing through Fremont, cute ambience and good selection of flavours to choose from, I went with s'mores on their bubble cone, quick service and the ice cream with the bubble cone tastes great, a small scoop with the bubble cone was around $10 which is a little bit on the pricier side
Went to Cauldron ice cream for the first time time. I got The Cauldron with the Puffle Cone. The cone is an egg based puffy cone that's more chewy than crispy. The ice cream was vanilla with cinnamon flavor and Oreo crumbs. The ice cream took some time to make so it's not a very quick place. Cute aesthetics of the ice cream and inside. Ice cream isn't very sweet which I didn't mind, but honestly the ice cream and the cone didn't match the $12 price tag. Glad I tried this place, but I don't think I think I would frequent it.
Excellent nitrogen ice cream. I was looking for a smooth ice cream, almost like a soft serve and stumbled upon this place. Their Vietnamese Coffee was 5 stars delicious with a great smooth consistency and made to order. Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly. My friend's rose ice cream was also on point. Great addition to Fremont, though pricey, I think it's worth it. read more
Came here with a friend and got our order in quickly, but it took some time for it to get served. Good: - We saw the ice cream being made in the cauldron which was super cool of an experience - The ice cream was huge, great portion size - I liked the bubble waffle with the cereal flavor the most - super sweet and hit that refreshing perfect spot on a hot day Bad: - More casual ambiance and not as much seating for larger groups - Takes a while to have the ice cream made Overall this was a nice find! read more
The wait can be a bit since they do the ice cream to order with the nitrogen but it Makes it fun to watch! I have been to cauldron a few times and all of their flavors are great! The moon and stars is a staple with the subtle tea flavor and it goes well with the puffle which is also fresh as it was perfectly warm/crispy! read more

We were really looking forward to trying this place, but it ended up being pretty disappointed. The ice cream tasted like something you'd get from the grocery store--very similar to Dreyers and definitely not worth the price of $10. Waffle was also undercooked... felt like the employees didn't care anymore It seems like part of what you're paying for is the flower design... which we barely got. Overall, it felt overpriced and underwhelming. Cute spot, but unfortunately, not much substance behind the look. read more
Hubby and I first tried Cauldron Ice Cream down in SoCal. I seen it through social media and had to go try it when we were there for a visit. After going out to eat with my family at the hot pot restaurant in the same plaza, we wanted to stop by and get ice cream and I saw that there was Cauldron! I was so surprised and suggested we go. We walked over there and waited in line to order. It was quite packed with a lot of people outside and inside waiting for their order. Once we placed our order we waited about 20 minutes for our ice cream. It was delicious! I haven't had Cauldron since we were in SoCal and I'm so happy that they have one close by now! I love the flower design that they do and the taste is always great. Definitely will stop by again for ice cream. read more

What's more fun than going to get ice cream? Going to get ice cream AND getting to see it made right in front of your eyes using Liquid Nitrogen! Their menu consists of ice creams, drinks, and shakes. Their ice cream comes shaped like a rose (we were mesmerized at how quickly the staff was able to create this) and you have the option of a cup, cone, OR the must-get Puffle cone. Yes, you can get a rose shaped scoop of ice cream in a Puffle cone - the Hong Kong egg waffle snacks! So it's like getting two desserts in one! During our visit, the staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. The inside was also very clean. I tried the sun, moon & star flavor which is basically tea combination flavor consisting of Oolong, Jasmine and Green tea. I liked it a lot because it's not overly sweet and has a hint of tea flavor. The egg puff is pretty good too. They make it fresh, so it tastes warm and soft but not dry. It almost reminded me of the egg puffs from T4 milk tea store. They have not only the basic flavors but interesting unique flavors such as Vietnamese coffee, roses early grey with lavender. Hope to try these flavors next time. read more

We stopped by the other night, and my boyfriend got the Sun, Moon, and Stars while I had the Salted Caramel Crunch. The ice cream itself was creamy, flavorful, and well-balanced. I especially loved how the pretzel bits were mixed in, adding the perfect crunch. However, my puffle was a bit undercooked and doughy, which made it hard to enjoy. I tried my boyfriend's, and his was cooked better so it may have just been an inconsistency. I would come back though just for the ice cream next time. read more

This is my second time at Cauldron Ice Cream and I remain unimpressed. I ordered the Rose H2O ice cream with puffle. I do enjoy their presentation, making the dessert look like a rose bouquet. I also liked the rose water sugar that they sprinkled on top; it added a crunch texture which nicely contrasts with the ice cream and puffle. However, the rose ice cream tasted artificial and the puffle is just an average Hong Kong-style egg waffle. Service was fairly quick and you order from a kiosk. There's a lot of seating and parking at this location. read more
I initially thought this place would be a gimmick with their rose shaped ice cream but I was wrong. They have a variety of unique flavors and they all taste amazing. The ice cream is super smooth and creamy. The puffle is fresh and warm. The milkshake was smooth and not too thick. Would come back again to try more flavors. read more

The ice cream here is decent but it does seem to be pretty focused on aesthetic rather than quality of dessert. We ordered the Sun, Moon, and Stars which was definitely pretty and had a tasty flavor, but as others have noted, the ice cream on a hot waffle gets messy and soggy pretty quickly. Also, the sprinkles on top were incredibly hard to chew which made some bites quite unpleasant and concerning for our teeth. It honestly felt like chewing on pebbles, and it seemed like a really unnecessary topping. The ambiance was also pretty off-putting when we visited on a Saturday night. Music was absolutely blasting and the corridor with tables/chairs did not feel very clean (and kind of smelled like a bathroom, tbh). We elected to eat the ice cream in the car in the parking lot. read more

Not sure why this place is getting (1) stars with the exception of the typical unfriendly young employee that we have all come to know with this generation.. Ice cream is on point, accompanied by subtle toppings. I have had both S'mores and Cereal Milk, both fantastic. read more
Pretty tasty ice cream! I got the cauldron which was a cinnamon ice cream with crushed oreos on top. my favorite thing about this ice cream was that it was almost a gelato. very thick and creamy, but you can tell it's still an ice cream & not a gelato. it was a nice hybrid. i also got the pineapple express. this was not official dole whip, but a close cousin to it. it was definitely "whipped" consistency and a little more airy/icey than the other ice cream i got. the place was out of the waffle puff cones when i was there so i was forced to have it in cups, but a solid, yummy dessert nonetheless. read more
Stopped by with friends for desserts and I liked the pretty flower presentation of the ice cream! I ordered the cauldron, which had vanilla cinnamon with cookies and cream on a puffle cone, it tasted creamy and delightful! The oreo flakes on top were a little messy to eat so I had to use a spoon. I didn't finish the puffle cone at the end because it was too much sugar for me. With tip it costed almost $10 which was kinda pricy for ice cream but nice to try. We picked this spot because it was open the latest until 10 pm. read more

(my review for SJ location: https://yelp.to/Q2VbKyyyM6) Plaza parking is available Place isn't super large- there's about 3 two-seater tables and then 1 four-seater table Middle Earth, 16oz - my cousin (hi Nat!) ordered this and she said it was good Vietnamese Coffee with Original Egg Puffs - ice cream was good and really captured the Vietnamese coffee flavor, it was very present but I could only eat a couple bites The Cauldron - for someone who typically doesn't like a lot of Oreo, I really enjoyed this! The oreo crumbles added good texture and the cinnamon vanilla ice cream was rich and creamy. This item may be my go-to for next time. Rose design is always available upon request and if you don't have a big sweet tooth, one item will be plentiful read more
