We booked Sugar Mamas for our June 2026 wedding after sampling them at a wedding vendor fair our venue hosted. My husband and I are not the biggest ice cream people so it was not initially on our radar to have ice cream at our wedding, but once sampling Sugar Mamas we knew we had to have them be part of our day. We did a tasting which included 16 flavors of ice cream. Some of the flavors were a little plain, but we especially liked their fusion/more unique flavors like durian and guava. They were also super sweet and let us take home all the ice cream from our tasting! The communication the weeks leading up to the wedding was a little delayed, but everything ended up working out smoothly (especially because theybhad experience working with our venue). They served black sesame brittle, guava, durian, vegan pineapple mango coconut, butterscotch, and cookie monster ice cream. All our guests loved the flavors and they ran out of ice cream within the 1 hr 15 min serving time. We went here thanks to Yelp as this would have been just another place we walk by. The decor feels like a 70 ice cream place with black and white floors and older pictures on the walls. With so many rotating unique flavors including many that are popular among the asian pallete, there is something for everyone. They might not be known for the largest scoops (like Fentons), but each flavor is distinct and robust with an appropriate amount of aroma. They are not afraid to try new things and push the boundaries with flavors like Henny Penny (yes, like Hennessy the cognac), or even durian which was pleasant and not too overpowering for your nose. We are also huge fans of their Fresh Guava so if you are lucky and see it, go get it while it is available. The scoops can be kind of pricey, but I assure you it is worth it! Plus they sell pints, so if there's a flavor you enjoy and it is in stock, you can take it home at a better value. My wife and I also hired Sugar Mama Desserts to be our surprise vendor during our wedding and couldn't be happier with the amazing flavors and incredible service from Renisa and her team. I left feeling satisfied and happy with my choice. I recently visited (my second time here) and ordered 2 large scoops of ice cream, but it was a disappointing experience. The server served me semi-melted salted caramel passionfruit ice cream, which was just sloppily thrown on top of another scoop like pudding. While he apologized and mentioned it was his first week, he didn't offer to replace the scoops. Their customer service needs to improve.
