We went here thanks to Yelp as this would have been just another place we walk by. The decor feels like a 70 ice cream place with black and white floors and older pictures on the walls. It is a small place but the ice cream packs a punch. The service is what you would expect. They allow you to taste some flavors before buying. We had the mango, burnt sesame and strawberry. They are not afraid to try new things and push the boundaries with flavors like Henny Penny (yes, like Hennessy the cognac), or even durian which was pleasant and not too overpowering for your nose. We are also huge fans of their Fresh Guava so if you are lucky and see it, go get it while it is available. The scoops can be kind of pricey, but I assure you it is worth it! Plus they sell pints, so if there's a flavor you enjoy and it is in stock, you can take it home at a better value. My wife and I also hired Sugar Mama Desserts to be our surprise vendor during our wedding and couldn't be happier with the amazing flavors and incredible service from Renisa and her team. After sampling many of their flavors we chose Black Sesame Brittle, Tiramisu, Burnt Almond, Cookie Monster, Fresh Mango, and Fresh Durian. The service was amazing! She let us try home almost all the flavors! Everything was super fresh and delicious! It was hard to pick a flavor because of how unique each one was. I ended up picking the yuzu pie flavor and I liked how refreshing and light it was. I do wish it would have been more frozen because of how hot the day was but other than that it was so good! I tried several ice cream flavors-- green tea jasmine? , matcha, and lychee. Some of the ice cream flavors were pretty unique, and they were made by the owner. According to her, she changes the menu every week (except for a few). Unfortunately, they were not as creamy as I thought they would be. -1 Maybe its the batch; maybe its the recipe. I left feeling satisfied and happy with my choice. I recently visited (my second time here) and ordered 2 large scoops of ice cream, but it was a disappointing experience. The server served me semi-melted salted caramel passionfruit ice cream, which was just sloppily thrown on top of another scoop like pudding. While he apologized and mentioned it was his first week, he didn't offer to replace the scoops. Their customer service needs to improve. We hired Sugar Mama for our daughter's 1st birthday in November and it was a hit! Renisa reached out the next day after I inquired on her website. She curated the ice cream flavors for us but was open to any suggestions/requests if we had any (but we were confident in her choices to begin with). She also asked for our daughter's likes/interests so she could create the custom sign for the party (see picture). Renisa is very organized & I appreciated her timely communication! The two staff that worked our party, Jillian & Maha, showed up early and were so kind! They did their own set up/clean up and made sure to check in with me throughout the whole 2 hours. They even packed us a pint of ice cream to take home before they did last call to the rest of our guests! The flavors we had were: Signature Strawberry, Coconut Pandan, Milk Chocolate Pearl Crunch, Fresh Ube, Mango Pineapple Coconut Water Sorbet, & Vanilla Bean. We loved the wide range of flavors of sweet to fruity. They were so good but our favorite had to be the pearl crunch - it reminded us of Thrifty's ice cream but with a richer chocolate that was the perfect twist on that classic flavor.
