Had Cava for the first time at the cumberland location across from Barnes & Nobles. First person to say hi and speak to us was a young lady named Gicela(spell check) she was nice and helpful but there was a lot of unsanitary things happening. Food all over the ground and serving areas. At the end of the line the same lady that deals with cash kept her gloves on, grabbed our pita bread and kept going. I asked her if she's changing her gloves she lied to my face and said she's not dealing with cash then literally grabbed cash. Drink area ... forget about it. Liquids EVERYWHERE. This location is disgusting, unsanitary, and the employees don't change their gloves out. They literally are preparing food, touching doors in the kitchen, and handling money in the cash register with the SAME GLOVES. They have a employee that is preparing the food who never understand what you're asking him about your order which is annoying. This location is absolutely terrible. So much so that I am finally writing a review. It's not even 1 PM, yet they somehow are always "running out" of food - two hours after opening. This was just my experience today. It's like no matter what time you go in the day, they are allegedly "out of stock" on some food items and they do not replenish their items too. Additionally, there have been many instances in which the store will close without any notice. This has happened to me and my fiancé on several occasions. I also distinctly remember my sister wanting to go to this location. When she arrived, there was a sign on the door that stated they were understaffed due to letting people go. That's literally what the notice said - I kid you not! As a result, customers have to resort to doing take out online when they close unexpectedly. That is extremely unprofessional. The manager of this location really needs to get it together. No greeting when I entered. Prominently advertised & delicious sounding tahini shakes but the "shake machine" wasn't working. I ordered pita with falafel. At the location in Brookhaven the falafel were a decent size. The size here was like smallish meatballs. The serving size of all the toppings were meager. The cucumber mint lime drink was bland. There were no napkins in the dispenser. A distracted worker started preparing the meal of the customer who was behind my husband instead of finishing my husband's meal. Overall, a mess & we won't be back. read more

I'm kinda torn between the 4 and 5! Sometimessss they rice is a lil crunchy and they outta stuff. BUT when it's all there, it's all good! My initial try was with DoorDash as an office order! It was sooo good and i ate it all. I got the splendid greens mixed with rice, chicken, cabbage, romaine, corn and tahini dressing!! I heard they use little spoons on door dash so i picked up my order when i ordered again!! I can't lie there was a significant difference in the amount of food provided!! So every time i go, i pick up now. The office ordered a few times and each DoorDash bowl I've gotten was way smaller than in store pick up!! I haven't tried other things on the menu because this is honestly perfect! Especially when the rice is fresh!! Today I ordered from the website for a pick up for 3pm. I arrived after 3, did not see my order, waited in line and then finally went around to ask about the status of my order. The young lady working was polite, apologized and said she was have the man in the back start my order right away. I looked to the back, where she pointed, and the man was on his phone either texting or taking a picture with gloved hands. I asked the young lady if he could change his gloves before making my food because he was touching his phone. The man yelled over the partition "I was already going to change my gloves, you didn't have to say anything." Everyone in line, including myself was surprised and expressed how disrespectful he was. I immediately said to him that I wanted a refund because his attitude was beyond unnecessary and I didn't want anyone making my food angry. I also asked where was the manager with all this going on. And you guessed it...he was the manager. I later learned his name was Ahmad. Ahmad then came out of the kitchen and walked up to me as if to confront me and said he wasn't giving me a refund and I needed to take it up with corporate. As a note, I later learned Cava no longer gives refunds in the store. You must complete a form online to request a refund. Several people in line left because of his poor customer service but the saint of a man behind me, boldly spoke up and asked the man to calm down and even told him not to speak to me like that. Ahmad then stormed back out and snatch the salad the man ordered and threw it away. He told the man he wasn't getting any food today either. Thank goodness for the young ladies working that continued to apologize, made his salad again, and provided me with the names of the manager and district manager. This was the worst experience I've ever had in fast food or in a restaurant period. I walked out upset, with no food and no refund. So I visited this location on Christmas Eve actually. I originally was going to try this place for the grand opening. I had found something on event bright where it was offering a free meal to try and then I didn't get canceled the day of but the manager was really nice and gave me a little card to get a free meal any other time. So this was the day that I was cashing in card for my free meal. I was a big Zoe's kitchen fan so to know that this place was Mediterranean inspired since they took all the Zoe is over I was excited to try. So when I went inside there wasn't very many people which was great, I wanted to ask questions because I have never been there and I wasn't really sure how it was set up. I got a lackluster greeting. And I let the young lady know that this was my first time here so I wasn't really sure you know how to order. She just looked at me and didn't offer any help. So I said hold on a second and looked at the menu and decided to build my own bowl. I decided to do the greens and grains bowl. I didn't have my glasses on that day so I couldn't really see the different types of lettuce so I asked her what are the types of lettuce you have. Again she just kind a looked at me and I said OK well that looks like arugula and is that one to the right of it spinach and she goes oh yes. So I asked if I was able to mix the two and she did. Didn't became picking migraines and they were two different races to choose from so I asked her opinion on which one she likes better and she was a very helpful so I ended up just getting a saffron rice. From there on I really didn't ask for help anymore because it didn't seem like I was going to get any and I just saw they started choosing items. The second young lady that was putting things in my bowl was a little more helpful than the first so she let me know that I could split my meats so I did up getting the chicken and the spicy lamb meatballs which were both really good. And I ended up asking the second young lady about the different sauces to choose from. All in all my experience inside the store was not very good. But the food once I got home and ate it was amazing. I will definitely go back and have caramel again just not sure if I would go to this particular location. I don't know if it was because it was close to the holiday and they were getting ready to close but I think you should still have a great attitude anytime of the day. Never on time with online orders, I have nothing bad to say about the food. Love it. But please hire staff or have people working to get things done timely as not everyone has the ability to wait extra 20-30 minutes for staffing issues. If an online order is made or placed & a timing is given for an estimated completion. I assume that 5-10 minutes is a good buffer for wait time. There's no reason we should be waiting an additional 30 minutes for the that to be cranked out. Very inconvenient & wasteful on time. Respectfully, A very high volume customer :) read more

I'm a doo dasher and a assistant manager at a local restaurant. I happen to be picking up an order during lunch and the restaurant was pack. Everyone we're work on my hard (even the general manage). But one lady really impressed me. Her name was Gena. I watched her politely deal with a very stressful moment with a smile the entire time. One gentleman was getting upset thinking he was getting skipped. She descalated the situation and offered him a complimentary drink. Being a manager it is hard to find really good people. I love CAVA! Total upgrade from Zöes. This new location has yet to disappoint me. The employees are always super friendly, & seem like they enjoyed serving customers! I chose the salad bowl option. They also serve pita wraps. My two choices of greens included super greens & splendid greens, for dips I selected red pepper hummus & crazy feta, grilled chicken as protein, & toppings included cabbage, tomato + cucumber, pickled onions, fire-roasted corn, crumbled feta, Persian cucumber, & pita crisps, with tahini caesar dressing! I love Cava but this location is the worst I've been to. The lines are always long. If I order it to go, it's never ready at or around the time I selected. I've waited over 30 minutes to get a to go order. They sometimes run out of ingredients early in the day. To go orders are almost always incorrect by one or many ingredients and I make the mistake of not finding that out until I open the container. Not worth whatever you spent on the bowl. Not only did they get my order wrong, but they also gave me a pathetically small amount of food for the amount I paid. I got a greens and grains bowl that had so little greens I could barely see them. There were literally two pickle slices. The whole thing barely even reached halfway in the shallow bowl. On top of that, they added extra items to the order and left others out. They put full scoops of sauce, which meant that the whole thing was absolutely drowning in sauce to the point where it wasn't edible. Just not worth the time or money. Do not come to this location. The location in Kennesaw is much betterI ordered online at 6:25, didn't get my order until 7:07. While waiting for my order, nobody came to ask for the name for 15 minutes. There's no sense of urgency in any of the workers even though the line was extra long. Also, I ordered the chicken + rightrice bowl, only to find NO chicken. And the bowl was only half filled up as well, see in picture below. Thankfully it was remade with extra chicken added but still, chicken is in the name of the dish. The bathrooms are also very dimly lit which is weird. The napkins weren't properly set up either. I have been a customer at this location for about 5 months, weekly, dinner only. I live Cava! The service had been subpar, frequently out of items, front staff could care less/surly. If there had been another convenient Cava, I would have gone to that one. Not sure what has happened in the past month, but the evening staff has turned over, front staff and kitchen staff appear to communicate better and there is far less "out of x." The evening crew seems to be better staffed/managed. Not perfect but a noticeable difference. Hope the improvements continue and sustain. read more

I have to write a review to ensure that whoever runs this place has some way of knowing how it operates regularly. I have been here many times because the food is genuinely good. I am a customer that appreciates good customer service. The crew is very nonchalant and they do not acknowledge arriving customers. It's not necessary, but it is when you have orders ready to be picked up and everyone is just looking at you like they don't know why you're here. This is the most "I just work here" job I've seen in person. Maybe they're not paid enough to have good service and they're probably putting bad juju on the food. Professional tip : place your order to go 30 minutes at least before you arrive. The line moves faster than to go but the line moves slow in general. Maybe chipotle simplified their set up to harness a better experience for the customer. There's a place in our community for these places but can we please appreciate the customers again. read more

I told the manager (at least she said she was a manager) that they should be embarrassed to have someone come in to pick up such a little bit of food for the amount of money I paid. Jamhya was an excellent server. She greeted me with a smile and even though they were out of a few toppings she was kind enough to make up for it by supplementing those for a different topping or sauce on the house. She even let taste a few toppings before deciding to replace it! She really knows how to give costumer service.
