We were seated at a clean booth and started with cocktails followed by entrees off the skinny menu. Cocktails were tasty but not strong. Eggplant parmiagiana skinny portion came out to be very generous and more than enough for me. The one weird thing that happened was that every table had a tablet for payment and kids games. Nowhere on the tablet did it say that games are chargeable but when our check arrived, there was a $3 charge for playing games for a few minutes! That's a strange way to bait and make money. I suggest making the charge clear on the tablet wallpaper so customers do not feel like they have been swindled after having a nice meal. read more

We were part of a large group of folks from our church and I was pleased that they choose this restaurant and location for our social event. In addition to having Bernice and Julian as our server team, there was a welcome (Fot us old folks) menu addition, namely a lighter portion section of the menu. The portions were perfect for me and my wife. They still include unlimited salad or soup. This is such a great thing ot do and so very healthy and delicious. We noticed that they also have prepared entrees to take home to heat and eat and we will be trying some of those as well. Love myself an Olive Garden fix every once in a while and this location did not disappoint. Spacious, clean, and good service. Our server remembered our detailed, very specific order with no issues. They have a "lighter portions" selection of their classic menu items which I really appreciate, as the portion sizes are much more manageable. I know, it's not "real" Italian food, or so you say. But the one here in Cedar Park has consistent high quality food with a great taste and large portions. Every entree comes with that amazing Olive Garden endless slide and all the garlic breadsticks you can eat. I especially like the spaghetti with marinara sauce and the lasagna. The Shrimp Scampi is good too. The Alfredo is passable but not as rich and creamy as some other Italian places I've tried. We recently visited another Italian restaurant where the prices were about the same as the Olive Garden but the portions were smaller and there was ONE garlic "knot" and no salad. The food at Olive Garden was just as good and there was a lot more of it. Now I have eaten at some New York State family-run Italian Restaurants, and they certainly do have a "different" taste that is amazing, but it is not necessarily better than Olive Garden, just different. So if that's the taste you're looking for this will not satisfy you, and you can continue to shake your head and say "It's not real Italian food". But it is still good food in a pleasing upscale atmosphere with good service. It checks all the boxes for my wife and I and offers, in my opinion, the best portions of food for your money. We had a pleasant dinner at this location. Our server was polite and the restaurant was clean. The "never ending salad" and "endless breadsticks" didn't end up that way--neither was offered a refill. Our pasta dishes were cooked correctly and the sauces tasted great. Also, the drinks from the bar were well-balanced and refreshing. Very disappointed as this was always a favorite. I ordered the luncheon special spaghetti and meatballs. The salad which is always great came with very little or no dressing so I had to ask for some. I could hardly believe the dish of spaghetti. It contained 1 cup of noodles with about a quarter cup of sauce plus 2 not very great meatballs. Spaghetti noodles are a very inexpensive item so why be skimpy with them. Interestingly enough my husband's dish on the luncheon menu was a shrimp dish with a lot of noodles and was the same price as mine. This is the last time we eat at this particular Olive Garden. We will drive to Georgetown from now on. I say that almost every time we eat at the Lakeline location but today was finally it. The wait was long even though there were not very many customers. On my companions meal, it needed Alfredo sauce as there was only sauce on one small section. I'm shocked it left the kitchen that way because it was clear it looked like they hadn't finished putting the sauce on. After asking the waiter several times, we finally gave up and just took it to go. The salad had three large salad "cores" that were wilted and brown and shouldn't have been in there to begin with. He brought a small box for the Alfredo and all of it didn't fit. He disappeared for long periods of time, so again we just said forget it and left what didn't fit. We asked for a bag but he never came back so we asked for one at the to-go counter. The one they gave was so small it ripped but then that person disappeared and never came back. The kicker was when we passed the to-go counter, there were several dirty aprons and shirts just thrown around on the benches. There were plastic to-go cups that were left all over the shelves above the clothes. All the ice was melted and the lids were missing on a couple. It Just felt dirty and not one person was doing anything about them. About 5-6 waiters were hanging around talking and laughing (including our waiter) and not one person even tried to clean up the area. Very disappointed, especially since we only live about 5 minutes from this location. I understand we are talking about a chain restaurant. I don't expect 5 star service. Food is great but service is terrible. Been a couple of times and the service has always been disappointing. We were asked to wait to be seated and had several other parties seated in the interim. When we went up and asked to be seated we were immediately seated, so it seems the first hostess had no idea what she was doing. When we were seated no server came to help us for 10 mins, so we ended up leaving. When we went previously the entree came out before the appetizers. I ordered a glass of wine that we had to remind our server about and finally came out halfway through eating my meal. Additionally the floors have a ton of trash scattered about. Olive Garden is one of my daughter's favorites and this is what she always wants on her birthday. We have been to this location a few times now. The most recent visit, we had the sweetest waitress and she did an amazing job checking in on us. They sang happy birthday and she brought my daughter a chocolate cake that she loved. Now, while I love their salad, I am not super impressed with the breadsticks here. They are dry and lack the garlic butter flavor. I think Olive Garden has gone downhill sadly. The garlic breadsticks have zero flavor, kind of felt like eating cardboard. Unfortunate, because I remember loving these as a child. The minestrone soup as lacked flavor and was too watery to even be called soup. Nothing stuck together and it was like eating pasta shells and pieces of zucchini that were sitting in red water. I hope that the pasta has not gone downhill that much, but the unlimited soup and salad was pretty disappointing.
