If you know me, you know buffets and I usually have a very complicated relationship. My typical strategy is to avoid them altogether. But Dimassi's has completely changed my mind. This place is unbelievably clean, which is probably the first thing I noticed. The food is fresh, constantly being restocked, and absolutely delicious. Somehow, I've convinced myself that going back for a third plate is "research." Everything I've tried has been full of flavor, from the grilled meats to the hummus, rice, and desserts. I've never left disappointed--just very full and slightly questioning my life choices. Dimassi's has quickly become one of my favorite lunch spots. If you're skeptical about buffets like I am, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. I'm naturally skeptical of buffets. The mere concept of vast amounts of food sitting out for hours, left at the mercy of unscrupulous diners to pick at with little oversight, doesn't instill confidence in me. This, however, is no sad lineup of wilted lettuce and stale French fries. The variety of dishes alone is remarkable, rotating regularly so every visit is a little bit different. It's ideal for diverse diners as well, since everything is labeled clearly for dietary concerns. Vegans can feast freely alongside omnivores and still get their money's worth. I could eat myself to ruin here. What stands out most prominently in my memory is the babaganoush, which had huge chunks of velvety, smoky eggplant, thick enough to eat with a fork. The za'atar flatbread, eggplant stew, and dolma were also top notch. Everything was super fresh, seasoned with a deft hand, and tasted better than most places serving single plates at a time. Bright, clean, open... a great addition to a part of Round Rock South that really needed it. Fantastic flavors, lots of choices, and a button to request a braised lamb shank fresh from the back. Do it. Press the button. Get the lamb! While we were there we saw them rotate in fresh food several times, moving the existing stuff to the front and adding new at the rear - perfectly done. First timer but will more than likely return. Lots of choices, everything I had was good. Minus one star as there was no available pita bread. When we were done and stuffed, they put out some more pita bread. Several customers were wondering why they were out. Pricey at $25 per person. Went to the new Dimassi location and was very impressed. There are very few buffets near our house so we were so excited this one opened up. Dimassi was extremely clean and had a huge line up of delicious foods. In total we got 4 plates. The food was very well seasoned and the ice cream was amazing. The food quality was all over the place, a couple of items seemed like they were out too long and were dry or tough. Nothing really stood out as great, just ok all around. I love buffet (I want a taste of everything). I love Middle Eastern food. I've enjoyed a Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet in Richardson, TX. This beautiful new Round Rock location is - perfect? At LEAST 8 meters (25 feet) of fresh food, beautifully seasoned, correct temperatures, halal meats, vegetarian/vegan/everything labeled by ingredient, before I get to beverages, gorgeous desserts, cinnamon tea, so many wonderful comestibles! Prices 10% below the Austin standard, so great value for money. The service is efficient and friendly and my only concern is that it's on my way home from work. Too tempting. So let me start by saying the inside is pretty, and I love the porch. The service was nonexistent. The selection was few, and the food was cold. Not great, not bad or maybe I'm just looking for more? First time here, walked in and was confused what to do. Since they recently opened would be nice if someone was stationed at the door OR a sign to "take a seat anywhere and help yourself" would be amazingly helpful. My first pass thru, when I hit the end there is a drink station, I wasn't sure if it was included in the $20 price or what so just got water. Another sign for the drink station would be helpful as well. I was disappointed there wasn't any tiropita or spanakopita. Although, was happy to see Baklava on the desert section and it was the perfect ending bite to my visit. Seemed like it was a lot of different rice and veggies. I mostly ate gyro meat but I prefer when it's well done or dark on one side and this was all just regularly cooked of that makes sense. Which is fine, just my preference. It also wasn't hot, it was more room temp. In my experience today most everything was the same temp, not hot, not warm, not cold, everything just a little warm or room temp (including the pasta salads and coleslaws). When I was done I walked to the register and again, no one there. didn't have to wait super long but maybe others would have left. Maybe charge on the way in? Gives them a chance to explain it all too with the drinks, deserts, etc. Overall I won't be back but do think it's a great addition to the area. It was clean and quick! But for a $20 lunch, me personally I'll stick to other quick Greek places where I can get gyro meat with spanikopita and tiropita. Today I'm leaving hungry and really craving some. I came to this spot for lunch around 1 PM with a few coworkers, and it was fairly empty at that time, which made for a relaxed experience. There's plenty of seating, and it doesn't really seem to matter how big your party is. They can easily push tables together to accommodate larger groups without any issue. The buffet had a wide variety of options. One entire side was very vegetarian-focused, and surprisingly, that ended up being my favorite part of the buffet--even though I do eat meat. Most of the meat options were good, but I will say that a few of them didn't really feel very Mediterranean. Some items came across more like standard comfort food rather than Mediterranean-inspired dishes. That said, everything that was clearly Mediterranean or Mediterranean-inspired was really well done and full of flavor. Dimassi's has been one of my consistent go-to's when I'm craving Mediterranean food and this newer location is no different. The offering is pretty much the same as the Research Blvd location though there was one dish with juicy lamb meat and mint lemonade which were new to me and great. Recently visited this Mediterranean buffet. The spread includes a good selection of fresh salads, both cooked and raw vegetables, pizza and fresh baked bread. They also have some authentic options like Mansaf (lamb, rice and yogurt sauce), and Molokhiyya (Leafy Green sauce usually served over rice and eaten with chicken). Also different kinds of rice and various meat options, including fried chicken, roasted chicken, kebabs, and gyro meat providing plenty of choices to satisfy any craving. For dessert, they have soft serve ice cream, assortment of fruits and pastries plus rice pudding. Service was great, clean restaurant, they are constantly coming around taking your dirty plates. Such a good spot to bring out of town guests. There is something for everyone. We tried a huge variety of foods and even the different teas. If you are looking for a healthy option this is the spot! The day we were there , there was alot of smoke filling tbe dining room so that part was unpleasant, must have been from cooking in the back. Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet is located on the east side of IH-35 in Round Rock in the old Outback Steakhouse location. If you have difficulty climbing steps, be sure to park on the north side of the building, which is where the ramp is. We arrived about 11:30 am and seated ourselves. There were only three tables being used. By noon the place was packed! The decor is very attractive and modern looking. There is a huge selection of delicious and healthy salads to choose from. There are many different meats to choose from including tandoori chicken and gyro meat. There is a large variety of drinks to choose from including Rose Water and Mint Lemonade. The service was excellent! They pretty much leave you alone to eat, but come by periodically to take dirty plates away. The lunch buffet costs about $18 per person. An excellent value in my opinion! Staff was clearly overwhelmed by the Sunday Mother's Day crowd. I have never eaten a meal surrounded by empty tables piled high with dirty dishes -- about 20% of the tables. The food was Ok but not great. Some of the vegetables looked like they had been around a while. Several dessert trays were empty. Decor was weird. I was very disappointed with my visit here. Pros: host was nice and it was very clean. Cons: everything else. The food left a lot to be desired. There was minimal seasoning besides an abundance of salt. I was expecting the beets to be pickled or have some lemon & dill...but nothing. The potatoes were cold all the way through. It is $23.99 for the dinner buffet. So about $51 for two people. So not worth it. They also charge for excessive food waste. Been to a Dimassi's in Los Angeles and was looking forward to trying this one. It did not disappoint. Clean, new, bright facility with lots of parking, ADA ramp. My husband and me we have been going to this restaurant in Round Rock The food is fantastic fresh clean relaxing atmosphere. The receptionist at the door Ms.Arabian is so sweet professional great attitude. Their manager Mr.Karim is the most professional caring attentive gentleman who check the food constantly make sure it is hot and he make sure food line look very clean and presentable. Apparently it was opening day when I went, but unfortunately the experience didn't live up to expectations. None of the dips were cold, and much of the hot food was also cold. The meats were dried out and bland. I usually love the South Austin location, but I won't be back for a while until they work out the kinks. At $20, it's also pretty pricey for lunch--especially considering the service was practically nonexistent. No one checked in on me, asked how everything was, or offered any help. I love Dimassi's and so excited this location is open!! This place is incredible! I love the fresh cucumber and tomato salads and tabouli as well. Then the entrees and other side dishes are always so tasty!! The food itself is delicious and then the fact it's a buffet is incredible! I plan to be back frequently!
