The food here is great; flavorful and fresh. I've had a pita sandwich with falafel and a salad with falafel. They have an interesting variety of sauces, dips, dressings:.. I've had the harissa yogurt which was awesome (just pleasantly spicy), the eggplant + red peppers dip, skhug (herby, with a little warmth, slightly bitter), and the pickled onions are very sweet which is a nice contrast with much of the salty ingredients. What I like most is the falafel isn't gritty and crumbly; it has a nice texture with some chickpeas still in the mix but not too dry. This is the third time I've visited Cava on Colorado BLVD in Denver when their systems were down and they could only accept cash. I didn't have any cash so the staff told me download the app and order + pay through the app. I did this. I returned to the counter and showed the staff my receipt. The staff scrambled around for a while and then told me nevermind, because the internet is down they actually can't take orders through the app. The staff then argued amongst themselves in front of me around whether they should honor my order (keep in mind - this is the same staff who told me 15 mins earlier to place my order through the app). The food is really good so that would be 5 stars... but man, the service is really lacking. There's always ingredients missing no matter how early you go. Every time I go I feel like they're always scraping the last bits of the containers to fill half a spoon and think that's enough of a topping. The last two times I literally asked, "is there not more in the back?" to which I get a blank stare, and then they finally go to the back and get another container full. I can't tell if this restaurant is dealing with a supply shortage of food in the back; if they're being told to be stingy intentionally; if they're just not properly trained; if they're too lazy to do it the right way; or what, but I hope they figure it out soon. read more

How is it possible for the food to be so good, but the service to be so bad? I always order online to avoid the service, but today my order was waiting behind the counter. The person at the counter finished with the customer she was assisting and then just walked away from me to the front of the line (I was standing by the cash register - where I could see my order was sitting) to help the person who just walked in. This all happened while a second employee was walking back and forth holding an ipad (maybe doing in inventory check) ignoring my gaze. I had to actually yell and wave my hands to get someone to notice me...in a nearly empty restaurant. I just felt so invisible. I realize staffing is hard right now and I honestly am not expecting a lot. I just... I've never felt like such a nuisance at a place like this. Quality, portion size, freshness are all 5 stars. Get a greens and grains bowl and you'll leave full and satisfied. The service here however, is extremely slow and seems undertrained. There are 6 or so employees and only 2 are usually working the front counter area. They are friendly, but just seem overwhelmed. I have not ordered online but almost every time I'm here someone is complaining about an order. Hopefully Cava will take a look at this store and get the service to the same level as the food. read more

This place used to be one of my favorites. This location has progressively gotten worse. We won't return after this last visit. No protein at all available when we got to the counter and they didn't mention anything until we got to that point. Then only one choice or had to wait 15+ minutes. The food prep area was in complete disarray, food splattered all over the counter, looked a disaster. Black lentils were almost completely uncooked so when we did get to eat it was like eating little pebbles. No ice for drinks. Should have walked out at the get go. Terrible experience. read more
