My coworker and I had wanted Cava when we got off work on Friday early so we decided to go to this location due to it being in between for both of us going home afterwards. The parking lot was not a lot of spaces due to this business sharing parking with other businesses. We lucked up and were able to find two spots but if not we would've had to park further away from the building. Once we got inside the building, it was a lot of people in there. You could tell that a lot of people do order ahead at this location because it was very packed on the order ahead side. Once it was my turn to order I was able to create my own bowl which is what I typically always do. I did not like that they did not have pickled onions because I really love putting these in my bowls. I wasn't sure if they just did not have them out and did not want to put them out due to it being busy. The worker did not explain she just said we don't have any but I could see the spot where they would be at if they had them. I have this new love for pickled onions which is why I really wanted them ughhh. Once I got done before I paid for my order I made sure they scanned my reward app so that I can collect points. The rewards program is very beneficial because you can earn different items for free, which is great. Who doesn't love free stuff.? We had wanted to eat outside but they only had about 4 tables out there and all of them were taken. So instead, we had to sit inside the restaurant to eat which space was very limited in there. We were able to find seating. It was very cold inside there after sitting for a while. While eating we had to use the restroom. In order to utilize the restroom you have to have the bathroom code which we had to ask for they were very nice and gave us the bathroom code so that we could utilize the restroom. read more

See these photos? I don't know whose dinner these are but they are not mine even though my name and order was attached to the bag, which was handed to me. Once I had the bag in hand, after the meals were finished 10 minutes after the projected time, I headed home. That's where I found the botched order. I tried calling the site but no one answered. So I had to go back to the store and wait again until they were able to finally make the proper order. I did get a half hearted apology too. I've been to at least a dozen Cava locations in my travels. And I was overjoyed when this one opened so close to my home. But it pales in comparison. This was by far the worst experience. Another incredible corporate slop bowl. Some bites of my bowl I love and some are questionable, but I'm also the one who customized my bowl so anything I don't like is my own fault. In a way me and the employee made this bowl TOGETHER. I always ask for a lot of toppings so I might be an employees worst nightmare because my bowl is always hard to close but they were so kind and awesome about it. I was in the area and was asked if I've had the chance to try CAVA, I didn't even realize they had a location in Indy, I thought their was only the one in Fishers - so we decided to try it out! I was surprised at the size of the establishment, they don't have much indoor seating but they do have some outdoor tables too. The order style is also like chipotle, with many options to customize your bowl with. I opted for the braised lamb as my protein, it wasn't bad overall but for the price, it's just not a place I'll go out my way for. The pita crisps were hard to chew and had a stale taste to them. The cucumber lemonade was great and hit the spot! Staff was efficient and did their best to keep the busy line moving. read more

I tried Cava for lunch today and it was really good. It is a healthy Mediterranean fast food restaurant with a similar service model to chipotle or panda express. We got through relatively quickly and the cashier was courteous. The food was delicious and there were a lot of different options for proteins, sauces, veggies, and other toppings. The only issue I have with my food is that my pita chips and wrap was very cold and I was really hoping that it would have been warm. There is not a lot of seating inside and the establishment is pretty small. read more

This has become one of my favorite places to grab food in just a short amount of time. I built my own bowl. I was a bit apprehensive about what to get, but I had to trust my judgment and just throw everything in there. The only thing is that I feel like the chips were a bit salty but over all it was good. The manager of this location was nice and knowledgeable about the food. The one cool thing about cava is right by the drinking station they have a specialty menu of their signature drinks that you can build on your own. I'm typically not a soda drinker but I did try the blueberry soda and it was tasty. read more

I am so disappointed and dissatisfied with today. I have been to this location so many times and every time they have managed to underwhelm me. I made a mobile order through the Cava app half steak half harissa hot chicken. Not one piece of chicken is in site. The lady working the to go station was literally throwing the food on the counter as if the people patronizing, the business was getting on her nerves. She did not even place it in the proper place she was sitting it in the catering area as a line of 6-7 people were waiting for their orders. She also wasn't calling out names or anything so we all continually had to check to see if it was ours. They are constantly busy and always seem understaffed but never any hustle. I will not be returning to this location I will just wait till the Avon location opens and hope they do much better. read more

A grain bowl hates to see me coming. They're my favorite food! The mixture of flavors and textures always hits the spot. CAVA has the best Mediterranean grain bowls. I love all of the options that gives you the opportunity to mix and match different grains and greens. The ingredients are always fresh and the meat quality is great. I've never had a bowl with mystery meat in it. The Greek vinaigrette is my favorite sauce but I also love the Harissa for some added spice. I love the location in Fishers and was excited to try the new location downtown. Built my own bowl and added avocado. Love all the options for lettuce as a base and the flavor options for protein. The roasted veggies were so delicious looking I couldn't say no to adding a scoop. The fried pita chips have a great seasoning. This ended up as a nice after the game dinner. Worst food experience I've ever had, and it happened on Mother's Day. What happened: 1. An employee making my bowl kept scratching her itchy scalp, went to the back, took off her wig, came back still scratching, then put gloves on to make my food. And only know she took off her wig because when she returned she apologized for it 2. When wrapping my pita, it fell into a dirty pan. Instead of throwing it away, the female employee + a male employee laughed, wrapped that same pita, and put it in my bag while still laughing. 3. I immediately gave it back. They kept laughing like my health was a joke. I'm a regular Cava customer, but this was my first time at this establishment they were beyond unprofessional -- it was unsanitary and disrespectful. Gloves don't matter if you touch your scalp then food. Would not recommend this location until serious retraining happens. read more

The person serving me just kept staring me down as I was trying to decide what to order. The food was good, but expensive. The services for me was why I won't be going back to this location again. Sabrina and the whole team were so friendly and hospitable. It really made our brief visit feel like a local biz experience despite it being a fast casual chain. The nitty gritty: - located near the IUPUI (hard to stop calling it that) campus and IU Health complex -build your own bar of Mediterranean ingredients with healthy options like black lentils, roasted eggplant, whipped feta and cucumber tomato salad to name a few. I couldn't get enough of all of the vegetables -great healthy kids offerings -very vegetarian and vegan friendly -grain bowls, salads and pitas available -easy parking and indoor/outdoor seating -fun drinks like cucumber mint lime and blueberry lavender (I like to mix these with like 50% water to stretch out the sweetness- both were great!) I'm so glad CAVA is finally open on the IU Indy campus!! I will say the location is small, with limited seating inside and outside and can foresee it getting crowded during the lunch hour. The food was good, I ordered the spicy lamb + avocado bowl. The lamb was not spicy but still good. I ordered everything as it is listed ... I noticed they didn't give out large portions of toppings (I had to ask them to add more) and the bowl itself is actually pretty big. I did also ask to add extra meat (extra charge) because the portion they give out wasn't as much. Overall, CAVA will be in my regular rotation of places to eat on campus! read more

We happened to drive by and noticed what looked like a grand opening, so we stopped in on a whim - and we were not disappointed! We both ordered the steak and harissa bowls with hot pita chips on the side. One of the best parts was the ability to customize and add to the toppings and proteins, which made it even better! The food was so good and very filling. I even brought home the leftovers and had them cold for dinner, and they were still just as good! I'll definitely be coming back. I visited the CAVA on US Highway 36 and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered the Strawberry Sesame Salmon Bowl. It seemed like the recipe cards may have been mixed up, which I can understand, mistakes happen. But the way the situation was handled was unacceptable. When I reached the end of the prep line, the young woman asked if I wanted everything on the bowl. I said yes. She immediately started slopping dill sauce on it. I told her I had asked for strawberry, and she picked up the recipe card and said, "This says dill." I repeated that I asked for strawberry. Her response was, "You want to add strawberry?" Then she added the strawberry on top and turned to the cashier saying, "This is a dill bowl, add strawberry." At that point, I had paid for something I didn't order, and the attitude and dismissiveness from the employee were extremely disappointing. I left feeling disrespected and frustrated. This location needs to work on both accuracy and customer service. read more

Cava is a fast casual Mediterranean chain that is opening its second location in Indy. The downtown location is a little smaller but the food and service are still great. They had early access today for neighbor's day and 100% of proceeds were donated. The main options are a bowl or a pita and you can build your own or choose from premade options. For protein, the spicy lamb meatballs and harissa honey chicken are the best. There are a ton of other great toppings and sauces as well. Would also highly recommend the new hot harissa pita chips and crazy feta as a side. The drinks are also fantastic. Definitely would recommend checking Cava out if you are in the area and it is a great addition to downtown. read more

I finally had a long enough lunch break to walk over to try Cava vs just do my typical brown bag at the desk thing. The line was fairly long around 11:45AM and there was one person serving walk in customers while all other staff seemed to be working on filling online orders. The moral of the story seems to be to order online for pick up if you don't have a ton of time. Still, it seemed like maybe putting one more person on the counter would have made sense as the lone person was doing the best that they could but with just one person, it's going to be slow. The bowls and pitas are made to order with a lot of ingredients and so each is time consuming to make. All of that said, the garlicky chicken shawarma bowl was delicious. It kind of looked a mess particularly after being squashed by the lid on the bowl, but the flavors were excellent and everything was really fresh. The chicken was nicely seasoned and all the vegetables, dips and sauces went really well together. I want to try some of the other options too as it all looked and sounded good. Next time I'll try the online ordering method to see how that works. read more

The food quality is always good, but good luck getting what you ordered unless you make 0 modifications to the menu options -- even then, they may still mess it up. If you order on the app, it may be ready in 3 minutes and may be ready in an hour just depends on how busy they are and the moods of the employees. The app will tell you one thing, the texts will tell you another and odds are neither will be right. If you order carry out, there is always a chance someone will just take your order because it's unsecure and right where all the food delivery drivers stand. If you go around lunch time, the parking lot and building will be so unorganized that it may just take you 5 minutes to make it to the takeout shelf. Overall CAVA is a great restaurant, but if this location doesn't do something to fix the major issues, I would highly recommend visiting another location. read more
