Drove 45minutes out the way to this location today and unfortunately the food and restaurant conditions were severely lacking. There was a sign on the front door advising of late opening and/or early closing due to maintenance issues I believe. The floor looked like something came up from the ground and wasn't properly cleaned up. The bathroom had urine all over the lower walls near the sink, and looks like it's been there for some time. I know flies can find their way into any food establishment quite easily, but it wasn't fun seeing them around the tables, floors, trashcans and even on the lights above the food. Lastly, the brown rice was undercooked and hard/crunchy and the texture ended up ruining our bowls. Most of the staff were nice. Others were rushing a little too much, making a sloppy mess. I've been to this location many times - and even freshly out of the restrictions of Covid so the lack of upkeep did not occur during the pandemic, it still looked decent last I was here. Really bad and disappointing experience today. There were 12 employees visibly on shift and only 4 doing any work. It took nearly 3 minutes before anyone met us at the register and we were the only people in line. The food was very bad compared to a prior visit. And there was only one clean table in the entire restaurant despite there only being three other tables in use. We sat there for 20 minutes eating and watched 8 employees stand around while 0 employees cleaned a single table. If I owned this restaurant, I would be furious. We were meeting friends here and sat in the outdoor patio area due to the COVID-19 pandemic because no indoor dining was allowed. When it takes over 45 minutes to process a line of about 6 people you know something is wrong. Employees run around back with no direction whatsoever in complete chaos. I love Mediterranean food and had to check out CAVA since moving back to LA. This location is on Lake and they have plenty of outdoor seating during COVID. I ordered a grain bowl which came with a mini pita bread. You choose from 3 grains, various dips (pick 3), protein, and toppings! The harissa dip isn't too spicy and you can't go wrong with garlic or hummus! Definitely add the pita chips as a topping for a good crunch. I went with the grilled chicken which didn't disappoint. I'd recommend getting only one sauce at the top at the final station or asking for less if you do want two. I got 2 and it ended up being overwhelming. The staff was super friendly and portions were huge! You'll never want to eat Chipotle again after trying CAVA! read more

Used to really love this place but quality and customer service has really gone down. Took my daughter today because she really loves it but portions aren't what they used to be. I asked for sweet potatoes and they told me it was extra but they were almost completely burnt to a crisp which they had no problem giving me. I usually eat at Cava Westwood near my job and was happy to see that there was one close to home. My joy was swiftly transformed to disappointment. You know how you feel when your really looking forward to good food and then it's not. I got a build your own bowl with the Saffron rice. The rice was extremely undercooked and to make matters worse the skhrug sauce I normally get on the side was watery and flavorless. What is going on at this location. Do they not have a manager or do they just not care. When you eat at a chain establishment you expect uniform taste. ie A Big Mac from mcDonalds in Kansas taste the same as a Big Mac in Michigan. Clearly this is an ongoing problem that hasn't been resolved based on the other crunchy rice revise. Please do better I really usually like your food. read more

Great experience at the Cava location on Lake Avenue in Pasadena on this Saturday evening. One of my go to spots when craving great food, but short on time. Can't say enough about the awesome tasting food selection available at Cava, that I've come to expect. From chicken, beef, and lamb meatballs protein options, to the many add on toppings available that make their bowls even more appetizing. But I would also like to put the spotlight on the awesome customer service I received from Lucian, this locations manager. Lucian was very courteous and attentive, the kind of customer service that seems to be lacking nowadays. Glad to see someone who strives to give the customer the best dining experience. My goodness has this place gone downhill. This was the first location I've ever tried this place! In fact I was one of the employees to help open it up. They are constantly out of stock on items. They have their inventory just hanging out in the hallway next to the restrooms. Pita bread hard as rock given to me with my food. I could literally knock on the table with it. Customer service was okay. Seemed like people just over their shift. Ready to go home. Not rude, just trying to move the line along. I get it. The machines with the juices were turned off, which means all the flavor just stuck at the bottom. Not circulating. Overall there are much better locations. Love their Hummus when I get it at the market, since it has no oil. We decided to visit the location and try it "fresh" Unfortunately the dine in experience was pretty bad, portions are very small, the less than a table spoon of hummus made me laugh to be honest, presentation was not inviting or aesthetic. This is for the manager of CAVA in Pasadena. My wife and I have been going to cava since it opened... We were very disappointed today 12/1/23 Friday evening at about 6:00 pm. There was only one drink available, the bathrooms were a mess! Tables had not been wiped down. I had to wipe down our own table by going to the bathroom and getting paper towels... I have never seen it so bad. What happened? We used love dining at cava. The only bright spot was that the food was still good. But the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant was not what it used to be or up to the standards of what a good restaurant should be. Fast food places look better than what cava looked today. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Think of Chipotle but Mediterranean food. The concept is very similar it's fast service and you end up with delicious food. I am sad I didn't try this place sooner. I got greens (lettuce & spinach) and grains as my base. Protein: chicken and meatballs. I added regular hummus and red pepper hummus. I forgot the other sides I got besides tomato with cucumbers, then another scoop of cucumbers, and sweet onions. I was hesitant about the sweet onions at first but it ended up being good. I call this place a Mediterranean kind of Chipotle. Online ordering and pickup during covid was smooth. I got the greens and grains bowl, with half spinach and half brown rice. The ingredients are all fresh and you get a large quantity in your bowl. Having half half is perfect because there is still a lot of rice in the bowl. In addition, the 3 dips you get complement the bowl nicely, even more than the sauce. However, my last time coming I didnt get any pita bread along with my bowl. Prices also arent too bad. There is a large parking structure in the back shared with other shops, and it'll take a minute to walk over. read more

I love the CAVA in Westwood so when I saw that this recently opened up in Pasadena, I knew I had to go. LOCATION - This place was really hard to find because the map told me it was by Trader Joe's so we parked in that lot and the directory of the plaza did not have CAVA listed on it. Sooo just as I was about to give up and just go to Corner Bakery, I saw the sign. Soooo for those of you looking for this place, it's by Corner Bakery facing Lake Ave. PARKING - Trader Joe's parking structure!! ATMOSPHERE - The was water on the floor all over the entrance and under several tables so it honestly killed all the vibes. I don't know what was going on but someone could have tried to mop of the floor or something. There were just puddles everywhere and it honestly made me not want to eat here. SERVICE - The people were really friendly. My only complaint is that they ran out of pickled onions and I love pickled onions. When I asked for them, they simply said they didn't have any and pointed at the empty bucket. I asked if they would be coming out with more because it was prime lunch time and someone went to the back to check but they never followed up with me and I ate my meal without any pickled onions. How could they not have things ready to restock asap esp during peak lunch time. FOOD - It was alright. I think I was just sad that I didn't have my pickled onions. I got a salad base and it was meh. I got falafel for my protein and it was good. Hummus is always delicious. I got the Green Harissa dressing per the lady's recommendation and I enjoyed it. It's labeled with two spice peppers on the menu, but it's honestly not that spicy. The bowl also came with pita on the side. I was nice and full after the meal. DRINKS - I think my favorite thing about this place are the drinks. I love places with unique tea and fruit flavored drinks. I usually just get water when I eat, but I definitely recommend getting a soft drink here. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place but it's a nice stop if you're in the area. I LOVE CAVA SO MUCH!!! It's one of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch or dinner! This location is located on busy Lake Ave, but if you order online/via the app, they have curbside pickup which makes it a lot easier. You just place an order on the app or online, select a pickup time, and call them when you pull up to the curb so they can come outside and bring your food to you. Parking is a little bit tricky because it's street parking, but there is a parking garage nearby that is where I usually park. If you park on the top floor near Trader Joe's, you can take the escalator down and it dumps you into a courtyard that is right next to CAVA. I enjoy building my own grains bowl! It's very similar to Chipotle where you get to choose your base, dips, protein, toppings, and sauce. I also like that even on the app you can specify if you want 1/2 of one of the item such as getting half meatballs and half grilled chicken! Perfect for an indecisive person like me! My go-to is the following: Grain bowl with saffron basmati rice, tzatziki, crazy feta, hummus, grilled chicken, harissa honey chicken (delicious but pretty spicy, so I only get a half portion for the flavor but not the spice haha), roasted white sweet potato, pita crisps, crumbled feta, fire-roasted corn, and garlic dressing. Seriously chefs kiss! Also, the bowls are pretty filling and I can usually make it last for 2-3 meals! I will say that when you order online, try to order early because sometimes the time slots get filled up really quickly, and you might not be able to pick up your order for several hours if they are backed up. Also, one time I went without ordering ahead of time, and found out that they closed early for some reason (there was a sign on the door). The one thing I do NOT recommend is their cucumber mint lemonade. It tastes horrible and isn't sweetened. I could barely drink it. Overall, I absolutely LOVE CAVA and I wish that there was one closer to me in Glendale! Whenever my husband and I are craving it, we usually make a trip out of it and go to Trader Joe's next door for groceries, and then pick up CAVA for dinner :) read more

There is no better way to describe this place than a Mediterranean Chipotle! I absolutely love the variety of ingredients you can pick from and everything is always fresh! I often get the build your own bowl with saffron basmati rice and black lentils for the base. For protein I get the harissa chicken. I love their dips and I'm so glad they sell them in store too! I usually get their tzatziki, crazy feta, and the roasted red pepper hummus and to top it off I recommend the lemon herb tahini and green harissa dressing if you like spicy!
