GOOD BUT SLOW! In my first review right after they had been open for a short amount of time, I took away a star due to service. Now months later I'm STILL disappointed by the service! I'm not sure if they have a high turnaround so there's always new people, or if training/management is lacking, but something is going on here. I spent 10-15 minutes here getting my food to go and only 1 person was in front of me!!! I asked for pita chips on the side and there was none on the line, and the guy helping me asked someone to help him, but no one did, so he had to go get my chips himself. As I was being rung up, I heard someone who I assume is the manager yelling out "cmon you guys this stuff shouldn't be taking so long." Food is absolutely delicious here, and portions are big! I can hardly finish a bowl. If I get pita on the side, no way for me to finish. I highly recommend the pita chips which cost $2. All in all, don't expect to make a quick stop here even if the line is empty. Service is slow and lacking, management should step up. read more

IMPORTANT: As of 4/16/22, Cava is only open until 4PM (posted on the door). It looked like the employee schedules were also posted on the door? The first time we tried to dine here, on 4/7, around 7PM, they were closed too. It looked like they were doing staff training that time though. Hours aside, I was honestly a little underwhelmed with my Cava experience. As many of have mentioned, Cava is the Mediterranean version of Chipotle. You start by choosing a base- salad, grain bowl, greens + grains, pita, mini pita, or rightrice. Then you chose your dips + spreads, protein, toppings, and dressings. Alternatively, as it is A LOT of choices to make and can be overwhelming, you can choose a chef curated bowl. I made a greens + grains bowl and bf ordered the Harissa Avocado bowl. Our total for the two bowls and two small drinks was ~$30, so a little more expensive than Chipotle/your average fast food restaurant. I chose the harissa chicken and grilled meatballs as my protein. I read soo many people raving about the harissa chicken but I was let down because it literally tastes like Chipotle chicken. LOL. Which is not bad if you like Chipotle chicken (and I do), but not what I expected at all. The grilled meatballs were v disappointing; they tasted more boiled than grilled, and you only get 2 meatballs, although they were pretty big (golf ball size). Would not get the grilled meatballs again. Why the 4 stars, then? The concept is there, the harissa chicken is good, the veggies are fresh, and you can customize your bowl to your dietary needs/preferences. It is as healthy as you make it! And the servings are large; bf and I were both able to split our bowl into 2 meals! I heard about Cava from multiple friends prior to visiting as this Arcadia location is super close and convenient. It seems to be a hit with the working mom crowd as it's a healthy, fast casual concept with fresh food that tastes good! Since hearing about it, I've been twice. Once for take-out and once for dine-in. I overdid my grain bowl on my first visit by adding too many toppings / dips / spreads. Everything looked good, so I kept adding more, but I suggest choosing wisely and keeping your order simple! Go with a chef-curated bowl if you're indecisive. I would recommend the garlic dressing on the side if you're not afraid of garlic (or planning on kissing anyone after you eat). I also like the tzatziki and roasted eggplant dips. Ask for pita bread on the side for dipping! I'm a fan of Cava's fountain drinks as well. I highly recommend the green tea mixed with a bit of your favorite lemonade(s). During my dine-in visit, I loved experimenting with flavors for my refills! I'd love to see a more basic grilled chicken or shrimp added to the protein options, but other than that, this place is great. I hear all the hypes about this place so I need to stop by. Now I understand why many people like this place. The food is delicious! Tasty and a bit toward the sweet side, not the sour side. Juicy and yummy lamb meat balls are my new favorite. They gave generous portion of toppings and I can choose the toppings I want. There are many selections for the drinks. I tried cherry soda and it was so sweet. They are just opened and I think some new team members may need a bit more time to get your orders right. Only downside I saw with the place is lack of parking. After circling parking lot few times on Saturday afternoon I parked at 10 min pickup parking spot and opted to get my order to go instead. Food wise, I picked a bowl and started off with brown rice and lentils. Another option is jasmine rice. Spreads come after, and I choose feta spread and red pepper hummus spread! This time around I did t take the meats, but instead picked vegetables and sweet potatoes, which was great. Lastly fresh toppings and plentiful and I picked tomato and cucumber with picked onions. We've been meaning to try this spot for a couple weeks and finally managed to stop in today. It's a little overwhelming at first as there are ALOT of offerings and it's like a Mediterranean Chipotle (as someone else mentioned) so you 'need a minute' to figure out what will work together. We opted to just order something from the 'they put it together' board and were not disappointed. I had a Greek salad with chicken and hubs had the white sweet potato recipe. Both were good other than I had a few fatty pieces of chicken in line (yuck). The sauces were great and make sure to ask for a couple pieces of pita as they don't seem to come with the bowls automatically- but what else are you going to do with the hummus? I love this place - I am SO glad they opened one in Arizona! It's a Mediterranean restaurant with so many options and choices. They have lamb, two kinds of chicken, meatballs, falafel and more. It was so crowded when we went but we didn't even care because we wanted it so badly. I ordered a build your own and my boyfriend ordered the Seasonal Bowl (feta and sweet potato). So here's the deal. I was STOKED when i found out cava was coming to Phoenix. The food is stellar. You can build your bowl how you like it - i enjoy the green + grains bowl with arugula and right rice. Their proteins are all tasty and their toppings are the killer cherry on top. I am full after my bowl which says a lot cause i can eat!! What urged me to write this review after eating there 10 times already since their recent opening? Tonight they were super busy and they were 10 minutes late to the pickup time for my online order - while i waited they offered me a drink while I waited (omg their pineapple into fresh juice was stellar) but they also threw in a sweet blondie as a treat to say thanks for being patient! Customer service really sets places apart ( after the food of course ;) ) - and they are clearly doing that well. read more

Great concept, a Mediterranean version of Chipotle. But this location has issues: 1st the dining area was filthy, tables and floors not maintained food everywhere, tables not washed (sticky). 2nd the food prep station filthy, not wiped down, empty containers, food slopped over counter area. 3rd the stove broken so out of grilled vegetables, also out of lettuce for specific dishes. 4th possibly understaffed, but staff were not friendly and one was rude. 5thoffered extra falafel since other ingredient not available, but then didn't include extra falafel...and the ones served were old and hard. The black lentils were good, but most of the other food did not look fresh. If the front of the store is any indication of what the kitchen looks like, I just hoped I didn't get sick from unsanitary conditions. What shocked us was the line at 8pm at night, they seem to be doing well considering the conditions and the reviews. Wonder when health inspector last visited. read more

We decided to try Cava based on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint! I got the avocado harissa bowl and inhaled it. The entire bowl was super flavorful, a bit spicy, and had a great balance of ingredients- no boring bites at the bottom. The garlic ranch pita chips were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned beautifully. The pineapple mint and blueberry lavender drinks were also deliciously refreshing and not too sweet. Service was quick and easy. The employees were sweet and the place was modern and clean. Food is decent but they keep getting online orders wrong! Very annoying, bad service. We live nearby and this is one of the healthy and tasty places to go. The food is really decent and fast. However, almost every time they get our online orders wrong. Today was the last time and the final straw - have ordered 2 different bowls and they mixed half of the ingredients from one bowl (chicken and rice and arugula) into another and the other way around. As a result we get 2 completely wrong orders, one of which is inedible (I don't eat chicken and they added it instead of the requested roasted veggies) The sticker printed on the order has the correct details, so it's not an online order issue. Can't rave enough about Cava! Think Chipotle, but Mediterranean. You can choose from their handcrafted bowls, salads, pitas, etc. or create your own. I chose to create my own bowl with a base of saffron rice. You can split the protein, so I chose half meatballs half roasted veggies. The bowl was absolutely loaded- you will not leave hungry. They also have a selection of off-brand sodas, lemonades, etc. which were very good- I tried the cola. I can't wait to visit again- I hope they expand locations! read more

Came on a Sunday for lunch with my family. We all had a great experience. I got the Harissa bowl as it comes + diced tomato. I loved this bowl-- to me it was the perfect blend of flavor and spice, although it was too spicy for my family members. If you're sensitive to spice, consider substituting the Harissa sauce they add at the end for the Greek sauce. However, if you can tolerate a bit of spice, I would recommend getting it as it comes. I would liken the ambiance of this restaurant to that if a Chipotle-- maybe a little more inviting, although this particular location was definitely a bit chillier than is comfortable. read more

Don't bother ordering Cava for pick up or delivery, they will always mess it up or leave things out. This isn't the first time we have had problems ordering through uber eats. We only got dressing for one bowl which is extremely disappointing, ruins the entire bowl. We were sure to call to make sure our pita bread came with it, since they always leave it out. When we called to make sure the pita was included, they said they would throw it in there for us and only gave us 1 when we requested 2, one for both our bowls. Our drink also came with no ice. I come to this cava all of the time since I live nearby and I usually have a good experience. I, personally, have been working in customer service for many years and I have NEVER left a bad yelp review because I usually always understand if there is bad customer service but this truly was for no reason at all. I was the only one in line, I was nice and excited to get cava, and she would not stop rolling her eyes every time I talked. I felt embarrassed to be in the line like am I somehow a regular that everyone hates. I don't know but once a different girl checked me out, she was so happy to go back and talk to her coworkers. So maybe don't do that as a fellow service worker, there could be a much worse reaction to the service I received if it was anyone else. read more

Almost EVERY SINGLE ORDER we receive from here is made wrong. We order online, everything is listed line by line and they still cannot get the orders right. Also, the orders are NEVER ready by the pick up time, even when it is not busy. We have given this place WAY too many chances and we are absolutely done spending money here. It's too bad as the food is very good but we can never enjoy it since our orders are never made correctly. Please train your staff better and DO BETTER. read more

I've been to cava a few times, first of which was in California, and it's consistently a tasty fast casual option. I love their dips and spreads, especially the feta.... Yum. The first time I ordered from here, something went wrong with their online ordering and it took forever to get my food, but ever since, it's been great.
