I'm sorry, maybe I've eaten too much Mediterranean at other places or something, but Cava's food tastes uninspired and lacking at best. At first, I thought it was just the Cava at Kentlands, but I've eaten at this outpost a couple of times now and had the same conclusion. The fact of the matter is, we're so into "fast casual" and "healthy" options nowadays that if something doesn't have a drive-thru or burger on it's menu it receives high praise. This is a big mistake and I think the bar has been lowered because of it. The vegetables are always over-cooked, along with the rice and the falafel tastes blah. I wish them well because I like the concept and the employees here are great, but the food it bills itself for isn't worth the visit. read more

Do not eat there, food is spoiled and not fresh. My son became very ill shortly after eating the falafel and rice bowl there today. I called the manager Stephanie and she showed no empathy or acknowledged my complaint and instead went on to state that she doubted that anyone could get sick from eating there. We will no longer patronize the restaurant and will encourage others not to eat there because of spoiled food and poor sanitation practices. read more

Don't bother going to this location - take the time to go to the Kentland's location. They skimp out on the meat and the sides here - the server I had made especially sure to scrape the top off every scoop of sides and protein that I got. I don't know if she was new or what, but I got roughly 2/3s the food that I get at the Kentlands location, and I frequented them about once every 2 weeks for a year. On the other hand, the Kentlands location is wonderful and actually knows what toppings they serve. Here, I had to repeat every topping twice because the server legit didn't know what I was talking about. Pissed me off enough to actually register an account just to leave this review. read more

The guys behind the Cava Brand are impressive to me. They clearly know what they are doing from a business and culinary perspective. Their sit down restaurants Cava Mezze are amazing. A few years ago they rolled out the Cave Mezze grills, the quick service Mediterranean version of Chipotle. The Cava Mezze grill, which I'm reviewing now is an excellent place to get a fast healthy meal. It's a simple concept, get in line to start and move it along to build your meal by choosing a base (greens, grains, or pita wrap), pick a few sauces (tzatziki, hummus, Harrisa, crazy feta) choose a protein (or vegetarian), then load it up with a ton of different vegetables and Mediterranean salads. Top it all off with one of their signature sauces and you're in business. Love the braised lamb, falafel is good..honestly its all really good. I love their beverage choices as well. Cava has an array of different unique juice blends and teas that are all very refreshing. I actually over did it like a year ago and ate here like 3 times a week for months so I had to take some time off lol. I'm back into it though and enjoyed myself at this Upper Rock location yesterday. PS this location at Upper Rock is fairly new, easy to park at, clean, and right off the highway/shady grove road. Rude customer service. Was my first time trying Cava didn't know what to get so I asked the worker questions about what the items tasted like but she didn't answer my questions and kept pointing at the menu. The cashier on the other hand was very sweet but still upset towards the other lady that was serving me. Would recommend going to another location if you are unsure on what to get. read more

It was amazing! The food is great and the service even better. This is definitely the best CAVA I have ever been to. I travel almost half an hour to get there having one just around the corner but the better service and food quality totally makes up for it. I recommend it to everyone. I just order online and picked up from this location. Usually my food is amazing but today it was not. I ordered a salad bowl with chicken. But to my surprise I got chicken mixed with another meat. For someone else that could be fine. However, I personally dislike every other type of meat and was disgusted as to what I accidentally ate. I'm not sure what it was but I know it was definitely not chicken. I got this on my lunch break during work and had to throw it away leaving me with nothing to eat. Please be more careful when putting proteins into your bowls. read more

All I have to say is........this CAVA is simply THE BESSSSSSSSST!!!!!! Paco and his "team of employees" are top-notch and if something is not exactly prepared to the customers satisfaction, they will simply fix the problem; no questions asked (although rarely is anything wrong). Paco and his team go above and beyond what other CAVA venues do; ALWAYYYYYYS making sure the customer leaves with a smile on his/her face. They are a hard-working, professional, customer-friendly team who we actually go to at least 2-3 times a week; only because their food is simply delicious!!!!!!!! Never dried out; never left on the line longer than it's time; always moist and juicy and well; what more can I say.......ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!!!!!!! Keep up the WONNNNNDERFUL job you all do!!!!!!!! I'm a lover of Cava. I go to cava weekly, so when I noticed there was one now next to my home I was ecstatic! Unfortunately this location is nothing like the kentlands location. The food prep area is always messy... Like disturbingly messy. Just walked out the bathroom and there is NO SOAP. . How are employees washing their hands. Yup. They don't offer the same as the kentlands location (carrots and raisin) etc. That would be fine is the cleanliness was at a much better rate and expectation. read more

Although I really enjoy the food options , I am terribly dissatisfied with the inconsistency of chicken portions. it's an additional $2+ to add another sprinkling of chicken as though the $10 price tag isn't enough to substantiate a proper heaping. & to make matters worse , I'm forced to throw away half of the chicken with practically every visit due to raw & fatty pieces that haven't been properly trimmed of fat...it's without fail. I've gone everyday for lunch & sometimes dinner in the same day for the simple fact that I'm a creature of habit. Ive purchased well over 20 meals in the last month alone & today's meal was so disappointing I was forced to make mention. Half the chicken was raw yet again but even more so. The location in particular is great. Food is great etc. but I have a problem with CAVA's LevelUp app. I have an online account with CAVA that I use for personal and business transactions. Recently, I find out that if you are a frequent customer they group your transactions into a monthly bill. First off, this would be fine if they made their customers aware and, or, gave their customers the option to opt-in to this, given that it is now a monthly bill. Online at check-out you have to put in a card, obviously, to process the transaction. For the month of June, I made several purchases one in which was not with my card. CAVA is trying to charge the entire amount to my card. My question is, what is the point of entering separate cards at check-out if you're just going to charge the total to the most recent card on file? Right, I don't get it either. Especially because the transaction was already charged to the other person's account on the date of purchase. I have been attempting to discuss this with LevelUp Support but they are just not getting it. As a frequent customer that loves the food at CAVA, this is very disappointing to feel like I have to chase my money. It is also frustrating to not get anyone on the phone from support, it is all done through email and they talk to you like robots instead of humans. Food here is alright! I've eaten here two or three times, two of those times being online orders. The girl up front, Megan/Meghan, is terrible. She has a terrible attitude when you ask her for anything. When I came in to pick up an order, she told me to grab it myself and also forgot a portion of my order. She does not smile, she does not help, she does not make you feel welcome. When I called back in, she did not acknowledge that she had forgotten it or even apologized. I made a 20-30 minute drive back to pick up my forgotten order and received no apology from her, only a manager who also gave me an unapologetic, almost mocking attitude when I told her what happened. The other employee did the same, and made condescending remarks. She then continued to speak about me in another language while laughing amongst the others. They did not offer any compensation for my time, and I had to ask for it myself. Will NOT return to a location where the customer service is AWFUL. Only one man was kind to me, and did not make me feel uncomfortable when asking for anything. Try a different CAVA, this one is spiteful and will not help anyone they've made a mistake towards. The order they ended up forgetting was also cold when given to me. read more
