Also, they are so busy on Sundays when I normally go and I am always impressed by how quickly they manage the crowd. I was in the area and decided to place a mobile order to be picked up when they opened, I even gave it a few extra minutes before heading in. Upon walking in, I didn't see my order on the pick-up rack so I waited in line. Fifteen minutes later, I finally received my food. My first observation, the employees moved very slowly, they moved with no intent or purpose. Cava always hits every time I get it. My go to order is a custom salad bowl. I've tried several of their meats and I think the lamb meatballs and the steak are the best. The honey chicken was average in my opinion. I will say that I did not care much for the red pepper hummus. I also thought the olives were much too salty. She also prepared the order wrong and added incorrect proportions of ingredients and despite reminder, either intentionally or probably being mad, kept on missing the ingredients which I requested for. Another worker came outside to help me load the bags in my car trunk and apologized on her behalf. She had a big attitude. So I'm a hold out. My wife has been trying to get me here for the past year. It just never seemed like my first choice. Leave it to my son and his wife to suggest it tonight. We had a short amount of time to eat and head over to the high school stadium for Friday Night Football. As soon as I walked in it seemed familiar. Looked like a Chipotle but smelled a lot better. I stopped in for a quick lunch, and when I went to pay, my card was unexpectedly declined. I found out my bank had restricted my account due to fraudulent activity. I was panicked and embarrassed. Jonathan--who prepared my food and rang me up--was incredibly kind and patient. His calm, friendly attitude helped me stay grounded while I sorted things out with my bank. GO TO CAVA IN ALLIANCE INSTEAD!!! Former employee here. Typically I stay at a job for a few years as long as I'm happy and treated well - I lasted three days before every single person I spoke to warned me about reasons to quit. Every single day someone complained about something new. Unequal hiring process and unfair treatment. Manager was informed of my disabilities NUMEROUS times (I'm talking 4 times over a 2-3 day timespan) and we had sit down conversations about it - immediately he tried to schedule me 9 days in a row with 1 day off in a week. When brought to his attention that I'm disabled he looked confused and said "oh... you are? I didn't know that." Most of the employees are wonderful, but the managers treat their employees like shit. A lot of disrespect and overwork happens behind closed doors - denied lunches and aggressive behavior. Employees have outright said they are not happy with management. Tables always dirty and bathrooms often ignored. Portions are small so you need to ask for more, but often times my bowls were half full as a customer. Was told while I was on the job to make portions smaller to avoid having to refill stations (I.E. skimp out on toppings because it's hard to get support on keeping stations filled) I was offered to be rehired by the area manager but declined because I felt uncomfortable staying. Alliance is SOOO much better. Great portions. Good atmosphere. Be warned - don't work at cava in Southlake. read more

The line to order takes a bit of time to get thru at busy times, I think mainly because people are new and asking questions... the people creating your bowls were very friendly and patiently explain the process and provide recommendations. I have seen some posts that Cava is overrated. I have to disagree. They operate in a 'Chipotle type' manner and they make it so easy! 1. Pick the base - I love the saffron rice. 2. Choose up to 3 spreads - I loved the hummus, tzatziki and eggplant dips. 3. I struggled a bit with the meats. I ordered the beef meatballs and they were, quite honestly a bit dry. I ordered chicken on my second visit, but apparently they were out. Like to the point the woman in the kitchen yelled that they were OUT-OUT. LOL! I got the meatballs again, and again they were dry. So meats get 3 stars, but not so bad to take away from the 5 star rating of the overall experience. 4. Add some toppings. This is such a little thing, but I loved that every item was clearly labeled so you knew exactly what you were getting! 5. Choose a dressing. I had the garlic during my first visit and the yogurt dill the second time. Neither seemed to add a ton of additional flavor to my bowl. That's it! It is so yummy! You do get a small pita with your bowl, but I had to ask for it during the second visit, so if they don't offer, don't hesitate to ask for it! One last thing before I sign off - I am madly in love with their Strawberry Citrus drink! I'm usually a Coke or sweet tea kind of girl, but I am so glad I tried this! Love this new place! So healthy and delicious ! Basically like a Mediterranean salad bowls chipotle style. You pick out your base grains/greens. Main meats and then toppings. Our favorite dressing was the yogurt lemon dill. The tahini herb was okay. The special lemon vinaigrette is as it sounds. Tangy tart and slightly sweet. My favorite meat was the harissa honey chicken. So much flavor with a bit of spice ! But not so spicy that my bf could still eat it. The beef meatballs were good but a little dry. Omg!!' Got invited to the grand opening and realized my ticket was for Wednesday but today is Thursday. Oh gosh!! Talk about Texas hospitality!!! The boss let me through the door with no worries. I been here at the dallas location several times and this place is amazing! I come a lot during lunch time. It does get really busy so download the app and order ahead! We have been to Cava 6 times now. Each time, the food is good but the service continues to get worse. Last night we got there at 6:45. There were only 3 people in front of us, a father and son and a single woman. There were 3 people on the line, but only two were making food, the third ran the register. The workers were new because they had to use cards to make the bowls. They made a bowl for the boy when he clearly stated he wanted a pita. They then had to go back and start over why we waited. The girl in front of us ordered 3 bowls to go. They were different, so again they had to use the cards. When they finally got to us, 17 minutes later, I ordered a make your own bowl. The card on the glass clearly states choose up to three toppings. I did and was told I would have to pay more for 3. I told her that was wrong and she said ok. We say down to eat and watched the line grow longer and longer. It took forever for the other patrons. Some left before ordering. The food is good, but the staff needs some serious training. It's always different young people working, so I'm sure they have a turn-over issue. Almost forgot... the last time we were there, they were out of forks. An employee had gone to Sam's to buy more. We had to eat with spoons. Just as we were finishing, they brought us a fork. How do you not know you don't have enough forks for the evening?
