I reviewed Ferah Tex Med Kitchen two years ago as one of my top five dining favorites in Southlake. My European visitors where here for the World Cup and I surprised them with a brunch on Sunday. They enjoyed all of Texas food and drink and after a Saturday night of partying I knew they needed a change. Needless to say they were surprised that a taste of home was here. They vouched for the authentic dishes and friendly service. Needless to say the mimosas became unlimited when they saw the price and tasted the fresh squeezed juices! Came here with a business group for lunch, and it was a great experience overall. The service really stood out, our server was friendly and attentive. We started with the sampler plate and the falafel tower, and both were delicious. They were a great way to share and offered a nice variety of flavors and textures. Several people in our group ordered the 10 Spice Chicken based on our server's recommendation. I thought it was good rather than exceptional. The portion was a bit unbalanced, with much more orzo risotto than chicken. I also had a chance to try a coworker's Greek Gyro Platter, and I really enjoyed it. The meat was flavorful, and it was one of my favorite dishes we sampled. Overall, the outstanding service and tasty appetizers made for a very enjoyable lunch. I heard of this place Ferah, Tex-Med restaurant so we made our happy way to Ferah, located at Southlake, TX., for lunch. We walked in and were promptly greeted, by Ms. Holly, Hostess/server. She was very polite, very welcoming and kind smile. She lead us to a booth located in Ms. Karalyn, who was our server. This restaurant is very elegant and "very chic". As we waited for our server, the lunch crowd stared rolling in, it got busy fast. Ms. Karalyn, our sever was very sweet, polite, with a lovely smile and very efficient. She brought us water with lemon. She then returned to take our lunch orders. Salmon taco, with Avocado, Chayote Slaw, Corn Tortilla & Chipotle Aioli for $8.00 and side order of Truffle Fries, for $6.00, and the Cast Iron Roast Airline Chicken, with Fresh Herb-Roasted Potatoes, Baby Spinach, Tasso Cream Sauce, Caramelized Shallot & Tomato Relish for $$26.00. Our food arrived and it looked amazing! The salmon taco, was well portion, well seasoned and very delicious. The truffle fries were great, hot, very crispy and well seasoned. The Cast Iron Roast Airline Chicken, was truly amazing it was so delicious you wanna slap your mama. I have never eaten such a delicious dish. This is one of our go to places locally. Warm and comfortable setting. Service is always excellent. We have never been disappointed. Had tacos and also the sampler platter. Pretty good. Not amazing. Definitely pricey. Tried this place for the first time last weekend. 2 entrees, no appt or desserts or drinks and it was like $80 something. I got a gnocchi pasta that was not flavorful at all. Very dry. Too cheesy. Bland. It was so not worth the price. The salmon was good but the tiniest little portion. Meh. It was my first time dining here. Upon entry, the layout felt very open and inviting alongside some fun decor pieces. Our server was extremely personable and attentive. I would like to say firstly, that this restaurant was great with some awesome service! The restaurant was decorated with evil eyes and cow skulls so it was very unique. Our appetizers were phenomenal, we got the sampler because we couldn't choose what we wanted but the fried goat cheese, southern cheesy arancini, and bacon wrapped stuffed dates were my favorite. That being said I was really disappointed in my ferah 10 spice chicken. The risotto/ orzo had noooooo flavor, not even a hint of salt. I felt like a lunatic for how often I reached for the salt. It also had no spice/ Jalepeno taste, overall I was disappointed with the dish. I tried the braised beef and that was pretty good. My husband and I went to Ferah Tex-Med in Southlake on opening day and it is one of only a few regular places we go for dinner. Early on, I knew that I wanted to have my wedding in the restaurant with food from there as well. We DID have our wedding in the restaurant! All food and an open bar was catered by Ferah! Now, our wedding was small - about 40 people - but it is not at all unusual for Ferah Catering to work events with several thousand people. Everything is perfection! Check out some of the photos and videos they share online. From the first moment, Jeremy, one of the owners, was accommodating of everything we asked! We worked with Jeremy on the food for the cocktail hour (station of assorted mezes) as well as our plated menu. We have a friend that is a vegetarian and they happily make substitutions for the various courses on our menu. Their Expert Mixologist, Tom, worked with us to create not 1 but 2 delicious signature cocktails and Chef-Owner Burak dropped by the table during our first planning session to ensure us that his team would make anything we wanted happen. Because we worked with the private areas in the back of the restaurant rather than buying out the restaurant for our event, they set up the room first for the ceremony. When we, along with our guests, were all out for photos and cocktail hour (in the bar area), some of Ferah's staff efficiently flipped the room to accommodate dinner! Things were absolutely perfect and I could not have wanted anything more than what we had. Our day was magical! Having our closest friends and family surround us as we moved into this next phase of life was amazing! We all know the food can make or break an event and I'm thrilled that our food and open bar elevated the entire occasion! read more

The service is excellent. Amazing happy hour in food and drinks even on weekends! Food was pretty good. Falafel was a little dry, wish it came with more of the sauce at the bottom of the falafel tower. Babaganoush was made out of a fire roasted eggplant, but I thought it tasted a little too smoked. Still pretty good, however. Salmon taco sounded better than it was. The best thing was the gyro taco--very flavorful and good amount of crunchy texture on top as well. Ferah is the place for lunch either single or in a group. My water aerobics group celebrated our monthly birthday lunch at Ferah. There were 11 women. We were given our own room off of the dining room and treated as special guests. Ferah has a wonderful lunch special for $13. It's a pick two and includes a fountain drink. You can have soup of the day and your choice of one of their delicious tacos, or one of their salads, or 2 tacos, or a taco and salad....the choices are endless. I had the gyro taco. It had many thin slices of tasty gyro meat dressed with heirloom tomatoes, pickled red onion and tzatziki sauce. I had the superfood salad too. Both were amazing. The superfood salad was a hit with everyone who ordered it. Their regular menu is also delicious. Everyone liked their meals. They even did separate checks for us, added only a 15% tip for our group and really catered to every need. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

I didn't get any pics of the appetizers but I think we tried almost all them on the happy hour menu. Favorite was the bacon wrapped dates!! We shared three entrees: the risotto with short rib, 10 spice chicken, and the special which was grilled fish (halibut?) and shrimp. Everything was amazing. Me and a friend came here around 2pm on a Friday afternoon and had a wonderful time. I was surprised that there were so few people seated because of how delicious the food was. It is nice to finally find a Mediterranean restaurant that isn't a fast food restaurant. All of the staff was super attentive, nice, knowledgeable of the menu items, and offered up suggestions. The fried goat cheese is delicious! Tried several appetizers and all were great, but the goat cheese keeps me going back.

I debated on not sharing this secret gem but thought everyone should know for the weeks we don't come lol. If you've been thinking about going here, DO IT. We heard about the brunch buffet so had to try it out. Everything is freshly prepared and amazing! Literally enjoyed every bite on my full plates(yes plates plural). They change the brunch menu each week on Wednesday and said you can see it on their website. Kudos to the amazing staff as well especially Daphne! She made the experience so warm and welcoming and kept us hydrated throughout our visit. I will definitely bring the family back for Sunday brunch! Once in a while we come across a menu full of surprises. Fera Tex-Med succeeds at the experiment that it's name suggests, the fusion of Mediterranean and Texas cuisines, to delightful results. The Ferah 10 Spice Chicken is a Roasted Chicken Thigh over Jalapeno Orzo Risotto dressed with Pickled Shallot and a Smoked Ancho Chili Sauce. DeeVINE. I mean, man what a wonderful collusion of flavors! For apps we tried the Cheesy Southern Arancini, fried balls wit corn, black beans, green peas, risotto, and drizzled wit Poblano Aioli. Trust me, the flavor pops. We also ordered the Poblano Margarita, a spicy lime and orange take on the Mexican favorite with Tex and Med liquor in it. Atmosphere is good, though not the reason I'd come back. This is the kind of place I return to over and over until I've tried everything on the menu. Our server was very helpful, patient in explaining the selections and made great recommendations. Southlake tends to be big on large, safe chains and not so much on local food. Ferah is tucked away just off Southlake Blvd not far from Town Center. I must have driven past it 100 times. Now the secret is out :) We love Ferah! read more

What an amazing spot, this out of towner was incredibly pleased with the way my night unfolded here a few days ago. I met a friend for drinks and apps that turned into a meal, and it was fantastic. The cocktail I ordered was mixed well and not too sweet, perfectly chilled. We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive but not intrusive, always topping us off with water and wine throughout the night. We ordered the chefs sampler platter and it was all excellent, but the falafel was different than I expected texture-wise, still very good though. The risotto was fantastic and the salad was a nice counterpoint, although I think "Texas berries" were actually strawberries and that's a hard pass for me, but they were easy enough to pick out. I was at The Stretch Zone and mentioned that I was going to lunch afterwards. They immediately described the food next door, so I just wandered over. It was clean, beautifully decorated, and you can see the kitchen, which I have always liked. I ordered the gyro tacos and the soup of the day, broccoli. (Since I'm trying to eat better, I skipped the fries.) The soup was not creamy and gooey like your standard broccoli soup. It was broth and full of vegetables and spices. It was definitely the right choice. The service was good and not overbearing. The taco was fantastic, with the right combination of everything. The tzatziki sauce on the side with pita slices is a nice touch. My nephew comes to town on business and as a tradition we always go eat Mediterranean food so I will be bringing him here. A perfect mix of Texas and Greece. -The food was light and pretty good. There were some Mediterranean dishes, some Tex-Mex dishes, and some dishes that combined the two- such as Falafel Taco. -I was so pleased with the "empanada" dessert. It was apple stuffed phyllo dough with dulce de leche ice cream. Superb! GROWS: -I wish the tacos were bigger.
