Food is pretty good. The staff though. SMH. Every time I go, doesn't matter when. The staff looks like they want to kill somebody. They look pissed off that you even came in to get food. No smiles, no eye contact. They look like zombies. Even the guy in the back cooking looks like he is on his 7th day straight working with no breaks. The staff are friendly and the place is super clean, however, when you pay almost $16 for a bowl, you expect a full bowl. I placed a takeout order and am learning there is more when you build it on site and walk the line with the staff. I've definitely experienced less on takeout orders the last 3 times I've ordered. Typical counter service place. It's chipotle meets Mediterranean. Staff was friendly and I was pleasantly surprised with the food. It's not the greatest but if you want something fast and fresh it'll hit the spot. Had a make your own salad bowl with steak and it didn't disappoint. Great spot! The staff were very helpful and kind. The food was fresh and tasty. I appreciate that most of their products are soy free, making them more allergy friendly than most casual eateries. Believe them when they tell you that certain meats are spicy-they are- but everything was really good and felt hearty and healthy. A little pricy but my bowl was also huge so I'm sure it'll be enough for 2-3 meals. Mixed the blueberry lavender drink with some unsweetened tea and it was yummy too but the pineapple apple mint was absolutely addictive! I had the best experience at this CAVA location! I've been wanting to try CAVA for a while, but I was honestly a little intimidated by the menu and didn't know where to start. Rakeem came to the rescue. He was incredibly patient, explained every option clearly, and gave spot-on recommendations for sauces and the pita chips. (Trust him. He knows what he's doing.) Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The service and ambiance alone made the experience, and the food sealed the deal. This was our first trip here and the employees were very nice, helpful and friendly (I asked a lot of questions). Beware they do not offer "standard" drinks if you aren't already aware. The service for mybtake out was terrible. They did not make a door dash order as requested (left off a key meat ingredient that was clearly identified on the order and on the ticket on the bag). Then they ni responsibility for their mistake and say you have to go through door dash for refund. We will not use this location or door dash anymore. My big problem is with Cava. Honestly pretty disappointed with this visit. It was the middle of the day and a lot of the ingredients were either completely gone or so low they might as well have been. The sauces were nearly empty too, which kind of defeats the whole point of coming to Cava. On top of that, the lady working the line had a really bad attitude and made the experience uncomfortable instead of welcoming. I absolutely love Cava!!! Each Cava location is bright & welcoming. It's setup like Chipotle where you go down the line and pick your ingredients. They have menu options to pick from, or you can create your own bowl, pita, etc. My favorite is the grains bowl with, saffron basmati rice, two scoops of tzatziki, braised lamb & grilled chicken, pickled onions, tomato + cucumber and tomato + onion. I sometimes get the yogurt dill dressing to top it off, but on the side. The bowls are always so plentiful, I always eat it in two sittings. Each bite is a party for your taste buds. read more

Newest healthy version of fast casual food to come to Wake Forest. Located in the strip mall across from Wegmans. It's a chain but one you can feel good about as it's Mediterranean bowls or pita. You can customize your own or get one of theirs. I chose to do my own with super greens, falafels, avocados, hummus and more. Absolute flavorful and satisfying. The bowls are served in to go container so leftovers are easily transported. Didn't try any drinks but they did look interesting. Would be great idea to offer small samples of the different drinks before committing. Vegetarian and carnivore friendly. read more

This place is great! Been open only 3 days but my spicy honey chicken bowl and the wife's grilled chicken pita are on point. I've never been to one of these but they are like Chipotle but with Mediterranean ingredients. Pick your rice/ veggie base and add a protein and other toppings and then add a sauce or two. I just had the most bizarre experience at your wake forest location. When I first walked in, a male employee was standing there behind the counter, slowly putting on his gloves. There was no greeting, no "hello," no "how are you," or "how can I help you?"This went on for what felt like 30 seconds, maybe more. Then, I ordered a harissa chicken+avocado and sat down to eat, only to find that the lentils were severely undercooked or maybe they were hard from sitting out. I'm not sure why, but they weren't fit to eat. I brought my bowl to the counter to inform an employee, and the encounter was just as strange. I told her the lentils were undercooked, and she responded by saying they were about to cook more. There was no apology, no communication about whether I'd like a refund or another bowl once the new batch of lentils was ready--just a blank, indifferent stare. I didn't know if she thought I just came up to the counter with my bowl to offer her constructive criticism and that she expected me to take my bowl back to my table and continue eating it, but that's what it seemed like. It was getting awkward, so I asked, "Can I get another bowl when they're ready?" Honestly, I'm not even sure if she replied or acknowledged my request at all. I ended up throwing away the bowl with the undercooked lentils, sitting back down, and I'm still here waiting--without any idea of how long it will take for the lentils to be done. I wasn't given a time estimate or any further information. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm forced to pay for the replacement. The entire experience made me feel like I was the problem, like I was an inconvenience to them, and that they resented me for it. The cold blank stare, no solutions offered. You'd think I fed them undercooked food by their demeanor... I'm still here about 30 mins later, no one has approached me, a manager, no one. No one has told me that the lentils are done and I'm not even sure they will at this point. It's super awkward... I live across the street, come here 1-2 times a week and honestly, I'm not sure if I even feel welcome here anymore. This has left such a horrible taste in my mouth. No pun intended. Update: 4:20PM, I got another bowl... and the lentils are still undercooked. I don't even care anymore. I'm going to start making it at home. read more

The lamb meatball bowl was very good but some people may not like that the lentils were a little hard. Not sure if thats customary for this place because this was our first time. Chef's kiss!.....walk, no run to this location. The flavors profiles and amount of food you get per order are huge. I see the Chipotle references and while Chipotle is perfectly fine when you're in the mood for tacos, this place is on another level. I love the variety of add ons to your pita or bowl and you can tell there was a lot of thought put into how well the flavors complement each other. This is my new favorite "Go-To" spot. Instead on the employee refilling the large bin with lettuce, he just went to the back and grabbed a handful of lettuce for my bowl. So he would repeat this for the customer behind me. This location is obviously understaffed. They need at least one person to be responsible for replenishing the salad bar so that the other staff can fulfill the online and in person orders without stopping to go look for food items. My rice was undercooked. I hope service improves here because the food is generally good. read more

*BE CAREFUL RAW UNCOOKED FOOD* We went here twice. Both times the to go orders were extremely late and slow. Both times we had other peoples food in the order. However the major concern for this takeout restaurant is the temp they serve food at. We ordered lamb meatballs for our two kids. When we got home we found the meatballs were cold and raw on the inside. Make sure to check your food before you eat. This place clearly has bad management and a system problems but serving uncooked food is very serious and dangerous. Especially when that meal was intended for a small child. I have been to other Cava locations and never had an issue so I think they are having training/ management problems here. Hope it gets better. read more
