    Steak harissa bowl

The staff are friendly and the place is super clean, however, when you pay almost $16 for a bowl, you expect a full bowl. I placed a takeout order and am learning there is more when you build it on site and walk the line with the staff. I've definitely experienced less on takeout orders the last 3 times I've ordered. Disappointed!

Food is not consistent sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not so good. My orders are always late when I place a pickup order. I went tonight and had to wait more than 30 minutes for my order.

Built my own bowl: White rice, tzatziki, chicken, vegetables, cucumber & tomato, drizzled with hot Marsala vinaigrette

It's like the Mediterranean version of a Chipotle. My bowl was so good I did a little happy dance. Restaurant was very clean. We went on a Sunday around 6 and it wasn't busy. This was our first trip here and the employees were very nice, helpful and friendly (I asked a lot of questions). Beware they do not offer "standard" drinks if you aren't already aware. They have their house made selections of teas and juices plus a few variety of sodas such as root beer, black cherry, diet cola, blueberry soda. I tried the pineapple apple mint and liked it. Will definitely be back!

We have to give credit where credit is due- Pickled Onion is open on Christmas Day and delivered an…read moreamazing meal. The fish tacos were fantastic, the bourbon chicken was delicious, the wedge salad was simple but so good. Baked potato hit the spot and the lobster queso - wow. It's not a looker but it's a taster! Thank you to the Pickled Onion staff who selflessly worked on arguably the biggest holiday of the year and didn't let quality suffer. Really, really delicious meal!

While I'd like to give the Pickled Onion a great review as a neighborhood sports bar, I can't…read more Here are the reasons: - I ordered the Chicago Beef, advertised as being served medium rare. It was served well done. When asked "how is everything" by the bartender/server as he rushed by I replied "it's okay" and he didn't break stride before moving on to the next table. - a different server came by after awhile and asked if we needed to go boxes. I declined and said the beef was overcooked. The server walked away. - a third person came over and said "I heard you were not satisfied with your meal". I explained that it was not served as advertised. He then asked "what would you like me to do about this"? I find this an odd question - no apology for the beef being over cooked, no offer to comp the item, he never introduced himself. - I chose not to answer the question. He then came back with the bill and let us know that he comped the over cooked sandwich (which included one side on the menu) but "only charged you for the side" Yes, my review is overly detailed and may come across as whiny. However, our party of four honestly felt like the staff didn't care if we were there or not. They also forgot my dining companion's grilled chicken on her grilled chicken Caesar. I honestly hope they improve and become part of the neighborhood but our family will not return. Ps - I really like pickled onions and didn't see anything on the menu served with pickled onions.

Vlad here with another downtown Wake Forest eatery review!…read more White Story Cafe is on the corner of South White & East Wait Streets, sharing a bright, airy space with The Burger Shop, a separate eatery I will review in coming weeks. (For those of you familiar with the area, another eatery called The Lemon Tree used to occupy this space.) Women-owned, White Story offers fresh takes on standard cafe items - paninis, sandwiches, salad, soups and a variety of breakfast options. (See menu pics for more details and pricing). In the very relaxing ambience with bright and cozy seating, we enjoyed excellent service from Apple, one of the owners. Paul and I both had the Morning Waffle Special: a tender tasty waffle with a deliciously crispy crust, topped with a fresh egg as you like it, crispy smoked bacon and fresh avocado slices - let's just say both our plates were clean! The sweet Thai tea was fresh and paired perfectly with our meals. The hours are varied, check the website (or menu pic) and prepare to enjoy light and refreshing fare in a welcoming space - leisurely catching up with friends over the fresh-baked treats and coffee or noshing with a current read. Y'all know me now - I like the smaller, intimate places off the beaten path yet close to everything - this place is a gem for you to try!

It's a fairly extensive menu for breakfast. Time from order to service about 10 minutes. Food is good! Tried chicken and waffle. It's a plate-sized waffle, freshly made, topped with breaded chicken. Chicken is tender but a little dry. Nothing that a nice helping of maple syrup didn't fix. Also tried the morning waffle special. This is a waffle, topped with an egg, bacon and avocado slices. Served piping hot, freshly cooked and a sizable portion. Always good to have more quality dining choices in town. I'll be back!
