Easily one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, love coming here! The patio is perfect especially if it's warm out; it's a great place to sit and enjoy the weather. The vibe is very casual, so it's a perfect way to spend a warm evening. Service is always great, you immediately get plenty of chips and salsa to munch on while you order drinks. I will say, I do think their drinks are a little on the sugary end, but it depends on what you prefer. The food itself is always delicious as well. I had the shrimp fajitas which were cooked perfectly. I really love the vegetables as well. It is enough food that it is easily plenty to split between two people or enough to take home for another meal the next day. I always recommend getting an extra set of tortillas as you will not have enough (they only give you three, so I usually get an extra three). Service is always great, vibes are great, drinks are good, patio is great. All of this makes for a perfect combination. Only thing to know is that since this is so close to OSU it is also a college bar, so during the school year it can be a little crowded on the weekends with college kids. read more

Came here with friends. Turned out one had been before, years ago, didn't enjoy her meal that day. But she did today, as did we all. Always hard to find a restaurant for several people plus kids, and Mexican fit. Both kids ended up with chicken tenders and fries, not the expected quesadillas, and enjoyed them. The tenders were good and not too seasoned for kids. The fries were seasoned and in a thin batter, again not too much for kids (thought I did note they both left a lot of them, so I guess not a favorite.) I tried one and it was fine, but probably underseasoned for me. Sweetie got bean dip, said it was okay but the cheese-bean ratio was off (she would have liked 60-40 beans, it was more 70-30 cheese.) Good, if standard, chips and salsa were served to the table. I got the corn on the cob app- out of season so just okay corn, nice cheese/butter/seasoning topping. My friend got a burrito with beef, I think, and liked it. His girlfriend got one with shrimp and liked it. I got carnitas and really liked them. Beans, rice, salad, guac on the plate. Fresh veggies. Tender, flavorful meat. Pulled, not in chunks as carnitas are sometimes. They gave me tortillas but I didn't bother, just ate everything else. Dinners come with your choice of sauce; I picked medium onion sauce, and it snuck right up on me- I would say hotter than medium, and not really a sauce, just pickled onions and peppers. Good but too much for me. Also there was a (mild) bacon-wrapped and cheese-filled pepper with the carnitas, messy but good. Food, all in all, was good-not-great. Reasonable price for the quantity and quality. Service was excellent, there when we needed, friendly, patient with the kids. Ate outside on a warm spring day, pleasant with a breeze and the umbrellas for shade. Half-full on a Sunday afternoon. Disney on the TVs so kids were happy. I'd come back. I do miss Japanese Oriental Restaurant being here, had a bunch of good meals there. But they still exist, as Bonsai in Upper Arlington. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the food! I had the Fresh Avocado Burrito and it was outstanding!! I'm usually suspicious that a Vege option with squash is just checking the box but it was really great. Also had the jalapeño margarita, which had chunks of fresh jalapeños and was not overly sweet. I'm not really picky about how the food looks especially if it tastes good, but this was disappointing in both aspects. The tortilla on this burrito pictured was hard and chewy and the meat tasted rotten. All the others dishes were bland and we had five people in our group. It may have just been an off day, but I won't be back to find out. There are too many other good choices out there. On a good note - The service was ok and the atmosphere was nice. Feeling real grateful for Cazuelas Grill staying open in the midst of this pandemic, and still having some great food ready for the go on delivery. I was craving some fajitas and tried to find restaurants closer to my house to order from. I decided to try Cazuelas Grill because I have never personally been there but a lot of the students in the area made it known that they like going there. This time I order through the Yelp app with their partnership with GrubHub to get some food. The process of ordering was easy. I looked through the app, they had almost all their options available on the menu, so you can choose from there and modify as needed when prompted through Yelp. When I called the restaurant before, they had mentioned that they were extremely busy today and would get my food out as soon as they could. Ordered 2 beef tacos for dinner and they came out sopping wet. I had to drain my taco of water and when I took a bite it was the most flavorless, wet, disgusting thing. When I was going to ask to take the tacos back I couldn't get a server to speak to more for than 5 seconds because they turn around and walk away so fast you don't even get a word in edgewise. Cazuelas is about as authentic as Mexican food comes on campus. For a student, it is the perfect stop for friends to grab a few tacos or margaritas. During the warmer months, Cazuelas features an outdoor patio/bar for customers to eat and drink with friends. Inside, their main floor seats customers looking to sit down and eat. However, they also have a bar downstairs where you can find your beach with plenty of imported beers and mixed drinks. The food is good. Nothing crazy special. But that's exactly what I am looking for when I'm craving Mexican food. The restaurant is super casual and the wait staff is mostly made up of Ohio State students. Chips and salsa are free and the food is very fairly priced! I love that about Cazuelas. Outside of the food, however, the margaritas can be pretty steep for a college budget. (Around $8-$11 based on what you order). However, you aren't going to find many places with better tasting margs than this place... so I would say it is worth it if you are feeling beachy! I kind of liked Cazuela's because of the margaritas. It's why it's as popular as it is. The food is forgettable. It's best to eat somewhere else. Then you can get fucked up here. I ordered a veggie burrito and a large margarita. It's about $10 for the vegetarian entrees. The vegetable fajitas are another option. It may or may not use lard in the beans so tell them not to. The margarita was okay but nothing spectacular. A lot of cheap Mexican restaurants on campus have had much better. The veggie burrito was lukewarm and had almost no spice. It was tolerable because of the margarita. They should get rid of some of the shitty food there and expand the cocktails. I would come to Cazuela's again for a drink but would not go out of my way. It's not worth it for the food. There are just so many better options, even around campus, so only stop in to get wasted. read more

This was my first visit to Cazuelas and I'm usually a little skeptical trying out New Mexican places. They're typically pretty hit or miss for me but I have to say that I LOVED Cazuelas. My friend ordered the blood orange mojito and I got the frozen Mangonada. I can't stop thinking about that mangonada. For appetizers we got the jalapeño poppers and the fundido dip. The jalapeno poppers were some of the freshest I've ever had and the fundido dip was sooo creamy with the perfect amount of chorizo mixed in! It got even better with our main dishes! Had a great patio experience for Columbus Taco Week. Cazuela's easily has the best selection of flavored margaritas, from classics to unique flavors. I got the Neon Margarita that consisted of Mango and Blue Curacao. I loved the small kick in the salsa and the flavor of the queso. Our tacos were pretty well sized for $2 (normally around $3.50). I'm excited to come back and try other menu items, but definitely want to come back for margaritas during happy hour. It starts at 2pm, hard to beat! read more

After work last night, I was craving Mexican Food. I went on DoorDash to find some, and Cazuela's was the only place still delivering. When my food finally arrived, my quesadilla was cold. I ate it anyway, and the cheese was something else. It had a gritty texture and the quesadilla was just plain soggy. My queso for my chips was still warm and was good, but it was way spicier than other restaurants I've had. I woke up in the middle of the night completely sick and feeling awful, and I knew it was from the food. I will never order here again. read more

Mind you we were the only two people dining inside besides one girl at the bar. Turns out nobody had been assigned to our table. Mind you there is a group of five staff standing at the front of the restaurant talking and another four behind the bar on their phones, and another group of four staff members sitting in a booth in the back right corner talking. Our food was brought out and was delicious but not once did our server come back to check on us to see how our food was or to see if we needed refills. He actually stood by the far side door and was looking through his phone. We had been finished with our meals for quite some time so I again went to the bar and asked to have our server bring our checks. I really enjoyed going to this location. My cohort in the school psychology program all decided to go out and have drinks after our last final on Monday. We arrived at about 7 PM. And it was about 10 of us at a table. The waitress was nice and as attentive as she could be. They appear to be pretty busy so she had other things to do. However our drinks came on time and our food came equally as on time. I really enjoyed the free chips and salsa! Always a plus! The chips were very, what I call, durable. Lol. They were warm and they were thick enough that they could dip and cheese and salsa and not break into 1 million pieces. The waitress came with multiple bowls of chips over time and was very conscious of what we needed. We ordered margaritas and beers and the waitress was able to offer my friend a really good ale that she never had before. My phone was very impressed with the selection enjoyed it. We sat outside it was a little chilly but still nice. It was clean and it wasn't too loud even though it was facing a busy street. I ended up only having a regular margarita because I had to dip out early. But it was very tasty though I felt like I could've had a little bit more tequila. That may just be the exams talking! Overall, I would definitely return. They have half-price appetizers during happy hour in a really good drink specials. Enjoyed great cheap food at lunch here, a tamale plus chile relleno combo platter was outstanding and just $10. Perfect pork tamale, expertly cooked relleno, very good refried beans, fresh Mexican rice with bits of corn in it, plus house made smoking hour flour tortillas, so happy. Lots of yelpers throw shade on Cazuela's food but I loved every bite. A picture of lime margaritas is $18, serves four people a reasonable pour, good flavor too. The free endless chips and salsa are good, it's all too easy to ruin your appetite on them, especially given the long wait for your food. Spread across two old houses fronting High Street, the huge outdoor patio is awesome, the quirky inside dining rooms are small, cramped, noisy and loaded with big TVs. Service is the only thing holding them back from five stars, it's friendly but a bit disorganized and definitely slow. read more

We did order off regular menu. Still good, kinda Tex mex style for me. My family loves spicy and they had some pretty good habanero fire sauces to go on the tacos. The food is good not over the top amazing but good. But their happy hour is where its at... M-F 3-6pm. I like their patio too. Open air, lots of room, great lighting at night. Doubtful I will be back here. Dropped our daughter off this weekend; family dinner and she wanted to take us to her "favorite" place. My son ordered Queso Fundido tp go with the complementary chips & salsa. We had finished the chips by the time the queso came ( with no chips) so we asked for more. It took 2 people and 10 minutes to deliver chips. After that out drinks arrived and the waiter spilled part of a margherita into the chips that we waited 10 minutes for. he took them and it took 5 more minutes to get chips. At this point the queso is warm, at best. It was 1/2 C serving at most and it was a whopping $8.29. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered a bowl that could have been made better, had more taste and a larger portion at Moe's or Chipotle, easily. My daughter and college students that surround this place have a soft spot for Conzuela's. Their drinks are lovely. I will never come back here for a meal when I am in Columbus.
