CB Kitchen is one of those places that makes you appreciate having a genuinely good local restaurant right here in town. It's not trying to be some huge, over-the-top operation. They just do what they do really well, and it shows. The food is consistently good, the portions are solid, and everything actually tastes fresh and made to order. You can tell there's some thought behind the menu instead of it being the same generic stuff you can get anywhere. It's familiar enough that you know you're going to find something you like, but they still manage to make it their own. The service deserves just as much credit. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and makes the place feel comfortable without forcing it. Add in the atmosphere and it's just an easy place to enjoy yourself, whether you're grabbing something quick or actually sitting down for a while. Living around here, you get used to having limited options unless you feel like driving somewhere, so when a local place is actually this good, you want to see it stick around. Great stop halfway through my drive home! Cheerful, open and clean atmosphere with delicious food 5 minutes off the highway. Sweet surprise with very tasty simple burger (gluten free hamburger bun available) and great single espresso. Perfect timing on drive between McCloud CA and Greenbrae CA. Visited July 9 2026. See my receipt as always as proof ! My boyfriend and I drove to Willows to pick up my friends beef jerkey. In the meantime we decided to have breakfast. What a nice spot! Modern feeling with outside seating as well. Pet friendly! Puppy approved by my Wilbur ! We shared the breakfast ( I think called old Skool..not school) that had 2 fluffy eggs with extra crispy bacon and potatoes with sourdough toast. It was so fresh and good! Bacon was extra crispy as ordered and the potatoes had a nice seasoning on them with a bit of a crunch! They also have beer and wine and bottomless mimosas! Popped by on a road trip for a quick bite and were impressed by the whole experience. One of the owners was on hand and engaging with all the customers, happy attentive staff, nice choices on the menu. Love all the natural light and big space. You'd think the place had just opened, it's so perfectly clean, but they actually started during Covid and have continued since. Ordered the breakfast burrito with came with a side of salsa and sour cream, and the turkey croissant which had the option for a full or half. Great experience at Carte Blanche. We were greeted at the door and could choose our own seat. They have an extensive menu both for lunch and breakfast, plus coffee. I had the French toast ($10) which came with mixed berries (strawberries & blueberries), which was a bummer because I am allergic to strawberries, but they didn't have blueberries without strawberries. Also came with butter and syrup. Very satisfying. I also had the Kole's Favorite with ham, which is like an egg McMuffin, but better. My daughter had the eggs Benedict, which came with home potatoes. The cheese sauce is different than hollandaise sauce, but still yummy. As for coffee drinks, they have specials, various flavors, and different milks. I had an iced oat milk chai, which was delicious. They have dine in and take out. The cafe has large windows, air conditioning, lots of tables, soft music, and a nice ambiance. A local spot that everyone knows your name :) Not mine, I'm new here but it's absolutely a local spot where if they see your truck outside they will pop in to say a quick hello to you. I love the ambiance of the place, I love the paintings on the walls, the bar with beer and wine, and the quick serve fridge by the register. They have treats in the case and some outdoor seating as well. They have a nice menu of American food, hamburgers and sandwiches, breakfasts, and more. They have prime rib dinners on Fridays or Saturdays and will sometimes have live music playing. I like to stop in for a classic cup of coffee to sit outside with and enjoy the old buildings outside and imagine how the town once looked in the late 1800s. I'm a gigantic fan of Willows and am happy to have discovered one of its treasures Carte Blanche. It has a cute new contemporary feel with a strong burst of down home feel. The service was great, the staff knowledgeable and well prepared. My daughter had the half Turkey croissant which was too much for one. I'm a giant French fry fan and theirs were perfect, crispy on the outside and tender where it mattered. I had the Why the Heck Not. It is their famous man n cheese on top of a well flavored burger. Well, well, well... look at this little gem we found right off of the 5 as we hurtled up the west coast. The "smash"burger was absolutely delicious, shaved onion, thinly sliced mushrooms (the Cali). We also had a salad with locally grown walnuts, berries, grilled chicken and fresh greens. The coffee met the standards of my discerning travel partner, too. I checked Yelp out when passing through this area. The menu seems pretty expanse however, I was really disappointed. I asked for a sandwich. I told them that I wasn't from here and I wanted something off the menu. I was thinking about the croissant they said yeah the lady talked me into getting a half. I probably could've ate a whole, but upset me was when I got in there I was charged for a side even though I was told over the phone like what do I wanna have with it like as if it was included, then I was charged three dollars for a side of fruit that I didn't know wasn't included she said well only the salad is included. The sandwich was super tiny. I mean, my daughter could've probably ate the whole thing herself and came to $15 With tax and tip the lady had an attitude when I took the fruit off, she was trying to be polite because her boss was there, but she was clearly agitated that she had to go tell the kitchen. The other problem was the croissant was completely stale. It was so dry for $15. I think I'll eat somewhere else next time sad because this place is really clean and nice inside but the quality and the attitude of the front lady is not there. read more

Breakfast burrito was excellent, they were happy to make it without meat and even offered avocado in place of meat at no additional charge. Okay, since I live in Southern California, this place is just up my alley. Modern decor, coffee/tea, fresh fruits & veggies with their dishes and of course mimosas! The food was so good, we went back the very next day. I do recommend the mimosa flight. It's such a great deal and all the flavors we tried were delicious. We tried the grilled chicken panini, spring salad with chicken, turkey croissant & bbq chicken flatbread. Lots of great flavors and choices here. I stopped here on a Thursday evening after a long road trip and had the grilled cheese with pesto sandwich and some fresh fruit, with watermelon lemonade to drink. It was delicious and refreshing. I had my dog with me and the staff was so kind to her--- giving her a pup cup and a cup of ice water, even after she excitedly barked her head off when we walked inside. I wasn't expecting such a good brunch place in the small town of Willows! My fiance and I stayed the night in Willows on our trip to Oregon and woke up pretty hungry since we were too tired to get dinner the night before. Carte Blanche was one of the few restaurants open at 10am on a Friday and we saw it had good reviews, so we decided to try it out. We got the following: latte, raspberry danish, roast beef sandwich, turkey sandwich, and the spinach quiche bagel. Our favorites by far were the turkey sandwich and the spinach quiche bagel. The sauce they put on the sandwich really made the turkey taste so juicy and good. The bagel was an everything bagel and was super soft with warm egg and spinach in the middle. I wouldn't recommend the roast beef sandwich unless you get some sort of extra dressing to go on it - it was kind of dry. The latte and raspberry danish were pretty standard. Food came out pretty quickly as well. It only took about 15 minutes from ordering to get everything. We took ours to go since we needed to get back on the road again. Everything was packaged pretty well and secure for the trip. Would definitely recommend trying this place out if you're stopping in Willows! read more
